bump for weight loss done right!0
-
dixiewhiskey - it wasn't even "weight" loss I was aiming for - it was "fat loss". Yes, the scale DID go down, but not by a tremendous amount....I wanted to "trade" FAT for MUSCLE (yes, I realize, scientifically this is NOT how the human body works....) and, ultimately, with the course of action I chose, that is the end result.
FROM SKINNY-FAT TO SKINNY-STRONG!

Bump for info.Beginner lifters should really check out the "New Rules of Lifting" series, by Lou Schuler. Some of the programs I've followed:
1. New Rules of Lifting for Women
2. New Rules of Lifting for Abs
3. New Rules of Lifting for Life
4. New Rules of Lifting - Supercharged
Currently, I am doing the Venus Index program and it has been THE BEST program for really chiseling down the body fat, imho.0 -

....lol, not really - after 3 kids, etc., there are scars/flaws EVERYWHERE, but that's okay - I earned 'em!0

Great work! Checking out those books!0 -
I still go back to the books for refresher on "how to do" a move, etc. They have remained VERY HELPFUL - great (exercise) investment pieces!0

TOTALLY INSPIRING! I want to know your weight training program. I'm going to start with Stronglifts 5x5. I want to look just like you! (even though i'm only 5'2)0
-
....had to resize the picture....apologies!!
For those interested in "stats" - I measure between 5'8" and 5'8.5" tall and I currently weigh 143 lbs.
This is SO inspiring to me so THANK YOU! I am of similar age and height (five foot seven I think and will be 43 soon.) I also work forty hours at my job but will soon be taking evening massage therapy classes five times a week. We are a family with multiple special needs as well. I have been wanting to start bodyweight strength training ( and I am very soon). I need something that I can it into my own busy schedule.0 -
Loved this! I started NROLFW last week, and I'm loving it so far - thanks for the extra motivation!0
-
You look terrific! Did you follow a certain lifting program?0

Can I just say...WOW!!!0
