Don't do that dangerous diet. You might feel good for a couple of years (3-5 years) but eventually, the health issues start to accumulate. If you want to read from people who tried it and fortunately had a wake up call, here it is: http://30bananasadaysucks.com/

Could you be more specific as to which blog to read? Didn't find what you were referring to.

Well, the whole website is full of useful informations. I know it's overwhelming because of its 125 pages of blog posts so here are just a few testimonies:

    http://30bananasadaysucks.com/2012/12/my-experience-of-11-months-with-the-801010-diet/

    http://30bananasadaysucks.com/2012/06/before-and-after-811-pics/

There are way more. In brief, they say that the 80/10/10 diet makes you feel good for a couple of years (even less for some people), but eventually a lot of health issues arise: vitamins deficiencies, problem absorbing some nutrients, hollow eyes, premature aging, painful and crumbly teeth, bloating, lost of hair, lost of libido, women's period stop, weight gain and more.

Well, unlike most of the commenter's on this post, I would like to actually read the book before forming a (negative) opinion.

The big problem with Dr. Campbell is he's let his bias get in the way of science and expects the masses to accept him verbatim........those illustrious days of romance are over.

Yep, and we've already seen how horrible a high carb diet is. That was the general recommendation from 1980 to into the 2000's and it failed miserably for most people. And then there's the fact that most RTC's that pit high carb against high protein show that high carb sucks for pretty much everything except living in a fantasy vegan utopia.

It failed mostly because of the quality of those carbs, (wheat) mostly refined (I believe 85% is pretty accurate in the USDA data) with lots of added partially hydrogenated fats, soy mostly , HFCS and salt. This is the trickle down effect from the crops that are over produced and receive the most subsidies. Processed food is cheaper than it should be on a calorie for calorie basis, convenient, calorically dense and Companies that have food scientists, marketers and the tens of billions that what, 4 or 5 Companies in the USA spend on advertising hoping their "bliss" factor works for another whopper of a year, all the while diversifying it's produce line to keep pace with the general misinformation spawned by the increasing nutritionally enlightened masses where omega3's are the new cereal and green tea powder added to cake batter is healthier and where products that never contained fat are shown to be safe of trans fats.......for the last 30 years it's like one long line of snake oil salesman pitching their wares on the big screen knowing there's a sucker born every minute. just kidding

Anyway, like the french paradox, there's also the Kitavan paradox.

Yes, you must be better than us because you want to read the book first.
On the other hand, some of us have done a good amount of research on appropriate macros and can immediately identify that 10% fat and 10% protein would be counterproductive at best, and more likely highly damaging.

The biggest load of crap I've read/heard today bar none. Then again neither look like they've ever stepped foot in a gym. It's like needing a haircut and getting a trim from someone who's blind; it just doesn't make sense - at the very least not for bodybuilding or strength training.

Then you haven't read the killong thread.

I submit to you that the killong thread is the best thing to ever happen to this site.

Agreed. In for references on being killonged.

Strumming my pain with his fingers
Singing my life with his words

Killong me softly with his song
Killong me softly with his song

Telling my whole life with his words
Killong me softly with his song

    I die.

    You killonged me.

He's 59, this low-fat vegan raw food expert trains an hour a day, and most of that is cardio.
Can you do his strength routine?
