I have been going hard the past 7 weeks b/c I was participating in boot camp 3 days a week and completing the boot camp homework assignments 3 days a week. I basically burned at least 500 calories 6 days a week for 6 weeks and while i saw some results I feel like I'm now at a stand still so I've decided to chill out a little bit this week and probably next week. I worked out Monday and Tuesday but decided to chill out today. I'll see how I feel about working out tomorrow when I wake up. I will continue to stay within my allotted calories on most of the days but may be a bit lenient on Christmas. I need to do something to jump start this weight loss process.

All in all it was a good day.

What is bootcamp? I heard a lot of people talk about it but have never know what it is.

So I didn't workout this morning... I really needed to in order to help counter act my evening dinner...
And I was up late last night with the teen boys playing Rock Band!!!!! lots of fun, but waking up was a struggle this morning.. Don't think I will have time to workout before our christmas party or tomorrow AM.. Maybe I can get a walk in sometime... Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I didn't see this thread til today, but it is perfect motivation! I've been feeling all sorts of lazy and keep thinking I'll wait until Jan 1st to kick back into it, but joining this group and knowing I have a weigh-in on the 1st will get my butt in gear this next week! This is my first time doing any sort of motivational/support group thing on MFP, so here goes :)

I adjusted my start weight because I had used my previous Monday weight which seems to be better than Fridays for some reason lately. I have not been good this week, obviously. I am hitting the store today and planning my meals ahead of time. I am going to be much better this week!!

    Hi Folks!
I would love to join this group. I'm planning to do a 50 mile bike ride in May to raise money for multiple sclerosis support and research. So I need to get into better shape. I've been trying to lose the same 20 pounds for over a year, so I need the extra motivation of a group.

I may be the most senior person here! I'm 55, but I plan to stay healthy and active for as long as possible.

Not too shabby considering all the junk I've eaten! Next week will be rough, also. I have yet another family gathering. Fortunately it is with the side of my family that introduced me to MFP, so hopefully we will have better choices! Next week I probably won't be able to weigh in until Sunday or Monday (since I'll be out of town), but we'll see!

Welcome to all of you who've joined us in the last couple days!

We just got a Wii and Wii Fit+ for Christmas, so my goal for the next week is to get that set up (today) and "play" on it for 30 to 60 minutes everyday. What is your goal for the week?
  • I would like to join your group also. I am a CPA and tax season is right around the corner. I started my weight loss challenge about 1 month ago to get into the habit of exercising and eating right before tax season begins. There is usually junk food in the office, late nights, and often no lunch so I will be extremely challenged. Looking forward to losing weight with all of you.

I would like to join! Currently I haven't been doing so good, but I'm trying to get back on track. I graduate college on April 30 and would like to be close or at my goal by then. So this group should be help out a lot. I've join groups and I haven't gone back to update them but this one I will try to come back to. I started the couch to 5k last week. I'm out of shape so its going to take me longer to get to use running.

Great idea. I'd like to join. My starting weight is 209. I need a lot of encouragement, but I'll give it a good try. Going on a cruise on January 24, which could be bad.

Does anyone have any challenge ideas for this week? In order to stay motivated and accountable it would be nice if people came up with weekly challenges. If anyone has any ideas please share. While I never thought I was competitive I'm realizing I have somewhat of a competitive spirit and I really need to stay focused.

The scale is down 1 pound for me but just barley. How about a challange to workout (whatever kind you like) for 30 minutes 5 times this week. NOt sure if we have already done this challange but I thought I would put it out as a suggestion

April 30: Goal 169 (1.5 lb average loss per week)

Was out of town over Christmas and could not weigh in, so I'm using today's weight as my 12/25 weight. Did not do well over Christmas (obviously) -- ate poorly, too many sweets, too much sodium, not enough fiber, not enough water, not enough exercise... plus I'm having a horrendous cycle this month... but I'm back on track today. Going for 16 cups of water/day for the next few days to really flush out my system, cleaning up my diet, and getting in some extra exercise (finishing up level 2/moving up to level 3 of the 30 day shred in the morning, doing an extra level 1 session in the evening for the week). Hopefully weigh in on Wednesday will be better after a little detox!

I think it might of been a previous challenge but since it was around the holiday it may have been difficult for people to committ to so I'm game to have it be this week's challenge. If this is the case, then the challenge has already been accomplished today. I completed 45 minutes of Jillian Michael's boost metabolism dvd.

Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday and is ready to kick it into overdrive for 2010.
