Joined MFP in Dec 2011. Achieved thru 1200 healthy calories per day, cycling and Jillian Michael workouts 5 to 6x per week. I have a birth defect that affects the circulation and mobility in my right leg so I've never been an active person before. Many surgeries in the past so I had to modify workouts quite a bit not to further injure my leg, but I'm amazed at what I've been able to accomplish.

I'm not a success yet, but I'm 225 and 5'2. My goal weight is 130, but I'd be extremely happy to even get back down to 160.

I'm not in this category but wanted to wish you all good luck, you can do it!!
  • I'm 5'4" SW: 229 lb, CW 185 lb, GW 135 lb. I hit a really rough bump with a bad life experience and regained 10 lb of lost weight...but that was over 2.5 years, so I call it a success. I'm back on track, having just lost 2 lb of that weight.

You can do this, no matter what - just be patient with yourself and your body.

I am looking to see success stories from women who are 5'4" with starting weight of 200-ish lbs. I would love to get some motivation!
Please post SW, CW and GW.

I am 5'3". I reached my highest weight in May 2011 at 213 pounds. I was at 194 pounds by the end of 2011 by making some small changes.
At the beginning of this year, I made some major changes and I am now at 139 pounds.

    Yes ma'am!

    SW: 231.8
    CW: 211.2
    GW: 130

I started my journey last year (july 6, actually) at 231.8. I hated how I looked, and was totally miserable. My boyfriend got me a gym membership and started working out with me. In October, my family was going camping in Zion, and I was determined to lose weight and be in better shape for hiking Angel's Landing. I got down to 217 for the trip, but since I didn't change my dieting, my weight hovered between 217 and 223 until May. That's when I decided I would really kick it into gear, and when I went to Miami in June, I got down to 213. Of course, by the time I got back I was 221.8 again! Since June 18, I've lost 10.6lbs. I currently exercise daily at least once a day. I'm doing the couch to 5K - just finished week 3! I was trying to fit 30 day shred in as well, but I'm in school and work full time, so it makes that difficult to do everything.

You need that bottom moment to kick your own butt. You need to want this- it's hard work and will take a long time. You didn't gain your weight overnight, and you won't lose it overnight! Be patient, see what works for you. Small changes are great, but you need to realize your lifestyle needs to change. It's okay if it doesn't at first, but it took me a year to realize that what I was doing wasn't enough. Yes, I lost 20lbs since last year, but I know I can do better than that, and now I'm challenging myself to show me my full potential!

    You can do this!!

In a 14 right now! Cant wait until those fall off too! My box of "fat" clothes is getting more full week by week! And that my friends will give you the motovation you need to keep working hard!

    Hi!
    Hi! I'm 5'5.

    HW: 195-200
    SW:167
    CW: 164.4
    GW: 145
    UGW: 135

Before starting MFP, I lost those first 30 pounds very gradually by commuting to school using public transportation and walking. I also began sleeping and eating on a fixed schedule. I really do think our bodies need stability.

Now, I'm adding exercise (3x a week) and more healthy eats.

    Good luck!

I always get stuck here. I have lost 60 pounds before, but it creeps back on if I don't log my food every day. Hoping to drop 20 pounds by October.
  • I am 5'4.5 and my starting weight was 219 in August 2011. I am now between 180-185. My goal weight is 140-150. Its been a struggle and I recently got a promotion and have to work more hours.. so I'm major slacking and I know it. I need a good support system.

    Add me! :)

My start weight was 215lbs. I hit my goal weight at 145 a week ago but I still need to lose body fat.
