and...I was so into reading that I didn't eat anything!! lol0 -
my entire office was reading the series....i read all 3 in less than a week0
-
I'm half way through the first one....It is very, um, different. I'm not sure if I care for it.0
-
I loved them too---i read the first one in a few days----and um---there were things I never knew existed--lol0
-
I read all 3 of them in about a week and got everybody around the office reading them. The best thing to happen to my sex life in a long, long time.0
-
I was amazed at some of the stuff in the book....it was awesome!0
-
i know right--my hubby would say--have u been reading the book again---I think I'll keep it so I can refer back to it..0
-
The 1st one was OK. Loved the 2nd one bc there was an actual story behind it. Im suffering through the last 1. Im just not into it anymore. She is a broken record! However I do LOVE Christian!!!0

I enjoyed it. You'll find a lot of people who complain about the writing, but E L James doesn't claim to be a writer. I liked the story and it opened my eyes to a lot of stuff. My husband is VERY happy....hahaha!
If you want a good follow-up, read Bared to You by Sylvia James. I honestly can't decide between Christian Grey and Gideon Cross. YUM!0 -
A friend of mine just told me about Bared---(thats all she said) I tried to look for it but couldnt fine it--thanks for giving me the whole title---I will read it!----and my hubby was happy too0
-
I read the first one and half of the second one. Believe it or not... I got bored with it!! lol0
-
I can't wait for the second set where it's all in his point of view!0
-
I'm reading the first one and at the moment I absolutely hate it. I can't get into it, I don't care about the characters, I don't feel like there is any story line and I think its terribly written.
I know most people love it and can't put it down, but it doesn't do it for me.0 -
Have to agree with Jonalee1977
If you like the series then you will probably love Bared to You, also the first in a series. Book 2 is due out in early Oct.0 -
Read the first, thought it was ok but not great, not bothered with the others so far, doubt i will either tbh0

I know! Just that little taste of it from his POV at the end of the last one makes me want to read the whole series that way!0 -
I couldn't get into it. I know almost all the women in my office raved about it ...maybe the hype ruined it...who knows0

i read all three books, it was really good, the first book was alot to handle, well for me at least since its was my first time reading exoctic novel, but it became such a good love story . FYI I don't recommend reading Bare to You, the lady that wrote it pretty much copy Fifty Shades of Grey. When I read Bare to You, I couldn't even finish it because I felt like I was reading a boot-legged version of Fifty Shades of Grey.0
-
Meh. I'm not interested in reading it. And I've heard that the writing is horrible, but then again, I've also heard that it isn't being read for the storyline lol....0
-
I read all 3 books because my friends were raving about them. I enjoyed them; however, some parts made me feel uncomfortable so I skimmed over those (I was brought up in a rather prudish family :blushing: ) I felt the books got better as they went along, second better than first etc.0

I honestly don't see what people like about them. James is the worst author since Meyer. Can't even invent her own characters ffs. Christian is an abusive ****head with his head stuck up his own *kitten* and Ana is... Well she's an empty character. No personality to speak of and not even remotely believable. The sex scenes are dull as ****, I can only feel sorry for people who consider them otherwise because they obviously have never had a decent **** in their lives.
Can you tell I'm not a fan? Lol0 -
I love books. I love naughty books. However, I have no desire to read 50 Shades because of the poor writing. Plus, seeming since 50 Shades started out as Twilight Fan-fiction, I just can't get over it. That being said, I enjoyed Bared to You, but it isn't even close to being one of my favorite naughty books. It can be a great, fun genre if you're up to exploring (take pun if you wish!). There are much better writers in the genre: Kitty Thomas, Annabel Joseph, Olivia Cunning, and Juniper Bell just to name a few.0

^ and this...I prefer a naturally dominant man, not a messed up dude who needs counseling instead of a whip. One does not need to be messed up in the head to enjoy BDSM. One does not need to be a clueless pushover to be a submissive.0 -

What other books would you recommend??? I loved 50 Shades, and would like to read more types of books like these! I'd be interested to hear what else is out there!!!0 -
No mommy porn for me.0

OF CRAP!!!!! Don't waste your time!0

I recommended them to my therapist. He asked why he should be reading porn and I replied that they are books about relationships and that is a part of his business.0

Basically anything from the authors I mentioned. Kitty Thomas's Comfort Food was amazing, but it is a psychological mind trip that some aren't comfortable with. Olivia Cunning's Sinners (a fictional rock band) series is good, naughty fun. Juniper Bell's Training the Receptionist and sequels if you like a hot man (or two) in a business suit. Anything by Annabel Joseph. Those are good starting points. Pick your poison.0 -
Some of the worst writing I've ever experienced as a reader. Couldn't make it past the halfway point, it was pathetic.0
-
Read the first and a little into the second.
They're not really gripping me.
Irritates me that people are so obsessed with the sexual content too. Completely missed the story of it - A guy who has issues with intimacy (due to his past) and is learning to trust with the help of a girl. And on the other end, a naive girl who is learning to push her boundaries in the name of love.
I mean, have people only just found out sex exists?0
