Do you think there's a masculinity crisis in America?

All I know is, I need a beer, this has been one stressful thread. Too bad we all cant go out for beers.
Remember man, these people are just words on a screen. They can be as stressful or as unstressful as you make it out to be. All everyone is doing on here is voicing their opinions, and some do it more passionately than others. Just take 5 and have that beer, hell have one for me too. In the end, we're all entitled to our opinions and in the end, this can be all over by turning off the screen.

Here is a question:
Do you think that Chuck Norris is a MAN?
My answer: no.
In fact, I'M CALLING YOU OUT NORRIS!0 -
You know what? That is a very fair statement. I agree but still dont understand it but it is what it is.
Thanks. I don't understand it either, but it is what it is. All I can tell you is no wax will touch this chest.0 -

hahah! this is great.0 -
I can cosign this- however, you WERE judging 'hipsters' earlier, right??
I just cant understand it. I dont get it but hey, its their thing. Have you not ever seen a girl wearing something strange and say "wow". Some of these guys do wear some outrageous stuff. To be honest, I would have never had said anything about them if they were not d*cks to people who are not like them. People only care about how they are treated and not how they treat others. That is not right. I am judging my p*ssy friends for getting ran over.0 -
Men are doing what women were doing back in the say with have small dogs, small cars, eating salads instead of fries, skinny jeans, purses, opting for frees-by instead of throwing a football, reading books at the pool instead of swimming, drinking fruity drinks, listening to boy groups like One Direction instead of man music, going with other guys to watch romantic comedies, talking about feelings, and opting for pink instead of other colors.
So basically, what this boils down to, is that there is a fear among some men that they will become more like women or non-heterosexual men.
Because what the above describes is possibly (gasp!) man with interests outside of his pre-defined "gender roles" (men want to read? say it isnt so!) or a possibly homosexual man who enjoys small salads and pink shirts and purses ... ?
Also: I think what you may be afraid of is possibly what is known as "metrosexuals" or "hipsters". Or metrosexual hipsters. Basically anything outside of the straight male stereotype.
"like One Direction instead of man music"
If I may ask ... what exactly is "man music"?0 -
Right, what part confused you?
The part where you saidSOME MEN do take care of their families- but a LOT do not.
Now one can say that my experience is an isolated or a rare one and that would be fine. However, what I would say is that while there are d-bags in both sexes, there ARE many good fathers (and mothers) out there who're doing the right thing. So don't bash on most men when in reality, most men do like to take care of their kids and families.0 -
I think what it comes down to is that old school guys and new school guys need to just see that we are different from each other and respect each other for being different. Also people need to quit fighting and calling people names over things they do themselves. People are not perfect. Some people speak their minds and others dont. Some like to be PC and others dont. Some like to dress certain ways and wether we understand it or not, we need to respect that even if we dont get it. Stereotyping lifters for being big arrogant jerks, stereotyping women for their clothes thinking they are sluts, saying eeeeew to short men and fat men, and people stereotyping hipsters for looking like women is the same thing.
Wow dude.... after nearly 500 posts I think you're getting it.
People are different. How they treat each other is what is important.... not what haircut they have or what music they listen to or what jeans they wear... or who they sleep with. There's good and bad people in every walk of life. Good hipsters and bad hipsters. Nice women and nastly women. Dumb bodybuilders and very slightly less dumb bodybuilders.

It is ok that we dont understand it. Nothing wrong with it. Wax wont touch mine either. I think many people on here are just hostile and like to fight.0 -

Amen brother. Though, you should see the messages I got. lol.0 -
Guess what? I didnt say jack about women either nor did I say that looking gay was bad either. I was just saying I dont understand it but women ran with it and started name calling. I never said anyone should dominate others either. Yes, I think some men should be more of a man and stand up to people and taking crap. No one, man or woman should put up with crap. Alot of women on here put words in me and some other's mouths and then called us names. Grow up people, you have no right to say we are bashing people based on what they wear and then you bash us for alot of things. Quit being a hypocrite, you know you women have made fun of other women for what they are wearing. I see women make fun of people all the time, whats the difference? You judge other women the same way we do hipsters, get off your high horse and stop it. I need a beer after all this arguing.
You seem to be confusing me with the entire female sex.0 -

The part where you said I would beg to differ. In my experience, I have seen more women manipulate the system. An example would be 2 of my friends who's fine fathers. Their ex's use the system to take every possible penny out of them in the name of child support and what not even though they both take care of their respective child and the kids are rarely with their moms. The moms on the other hand spend most of the time living basically a single life.
Now one can say that my experience is an isolated or a rare one and that would be fine. However, what I would say is that while there are d-bags in both sexes, there ARE many good fathers (and mothers) out there who're doing the right thing. Mkay, I didn't say MOST men. I said A LOT...Which is the truth. There are a LOT of 'men' who create kids and then bail. Just like there are a lot of WOMEN who lay down and make a baby and turn out to be POS mothers...believe me, i've seen many of BOTH. I don't know why my statement confused you- but I hope that clears it up. I know MANY men who are GREAT fathers- there are bad seeds in both (men and women) and it's unfortunate b/c the children haven't done anything to deserve it.0 -
Don't you have some woman to make a sandwich for?
know your place!

Trust me, I've been at the end of a heated argument too. Roll it off your shoulders, its all good bro.0 -

Honestly: Do you think there's a masculinity crisis in America? Are more men allowing women to dominate relationships?
1. There is a change, men are taking advantage of women being equal and now they don't have to be assertive in a relationship, I don't think that constitutes a crisis though.
2. This is absolutely not unique to America.0 -
Thanks. I don't understand it either, but it is what it is. All I can tell you is no wax will touch this chest.
I can understand it (well, not really). There is a shift change of how things are. Back in the days people have ridiculous disco music and hair and clothing. We have a different thing now. Its just how times are and that is fine. Time changes and its usually a good thing.
What does worry me is the increasing number of men who're basically being neutered by society or women or by other men. A man cannot look at women without being called pervert but a women checking out a guy is called a free-spirit or wild girl.
More and more little things are taken away from men which is causing a decreased number of testosterone in men (this is proven scientifically).0 -

I got it from the beginning but you are missing the point. I dont like them because of what they look like. I dont like them because they have only been d*cks to me and many others who dont look like them. I am getting the lecture about judging others based on looks, they should also get the lecture cause they judge others based on looks too. I am totally open to being friends with nice hipsters, but I havnt met one. I obviously dont care about how they dress, my gay friends dress that way and I dont mind. The difference is my gay friends are nice and awesome but all the hipsters ive met are smug and rude and judgmental so yeah, its hard to be a fan after the things ive seen. When you see one be rude to an handicap woman and elderly, yeah it makes me want to punch them in the face. Like you said, there are good and bad hipsters but im still waiting to meet some nice ones who are not smug. Even in Wiki, it states attitude is part of their lifestyle.0 -
Yeah, people got mad about this thread but look at this thread. Hmmmmmmm. I guess that is ok because she is a woman.

I call that just being plain mean.
Thats like saying "I dont mean to offend you but..." Just because someone says a small disclaimer, doesnt make it any less offensive.
If a man or woman said that, it would evoke the same reaction. Because I tend to not let rants and name calling over the internet get to me, it evoked little to no response. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but a little courtesy and compassion when letting your opinion be known (eg. acting civil) goes a long way in my book.0 -
Does this really need a part 2? The first one got pretty heated. I can't see this ending any better0

Nope, but that's possibly a "troll" thread (maybe not, but it could be). Also, if you read through the posts, you'll see people disagreeing with her too.
And it isn't because she's a woman, it's probably because her post was ignorant and filled with ridiculousness.0 -

The Godfather is awesome.
I saw that as a child, babysitter had me watch it for some reason. Had nightmares of horse heads in beds for a few nights, but since then, its a staple of Hollywood legend for sure.
Anyone ever play the game for it? Even the game was badass.0 -

Yes! The game was BA. I loved the movie, but the books were hands down amazing. Even the sequel (but not the trequel spin-off)0
