If your group has room for new members I would love to join. I had started in a Biggest Loser group that started in the beginning of month, but there is very little activity going on in it, and I like the discussions and support, plus a place to vent, chat, etc.

My starting weight on Jan 1 was 167, then last week on the 8th it was down to 163.8, but that is because I had the flu the night before. And for this week I weigh in on Friday (tom).

This group is always open! Welcome, I sent you a friend request and you can just send me your weight on Sunday mornings. It is okay if you weigh in on Fridays, just give me that weight on Sunday if you want. Glad to have you!

    Hi all.

Tammy, do you think you can find a chest strap that will work with your HRM?

Jack, good going on the 4 miles!! Sorry you're really, really hungry though. Have you downed alot of water today?

I am having kind of a rough day today. I'm staying within my calories right now, but it's really hard, because I just want to go snack. TMI to follow! - Be warned!

Yesterday, I started my cycle and passed something I've never seen before. Wasn't a clot. Now hubs and I are both worried that I could have miscarried, but I don't see how it's possible, since I had a normal cycle last month and this month was on time, too -- and no accidents occured, if you get my drift. I made an appointment for a PAP with my doc, but they can't see me until the 28th. They say that at that time, with blood work, they will be able to see if I WAS pregnant. In the meantime, hubs just texted me and said that if I did miscarry, then that means I was pregnant and it hurts him that a little person won't be around because we do everything we can to insure we don't get pregnant, including praying! So he feels guilty, and so do I. We don't even know if we want kids one day, so we take alot of precautions to keep from getting pregnant right now. We are not ready for a kid and we try to be responsible enough to realize that and plan to not, kwim?

But, all the guilt and thinking makes me want to start reaching for more than one of those 100 cal snack packs tucked away in the office kitchen. Plus, I'm by myself today, so no one but me to hold myself accountable. Gah! Sorry for dumping on you guys with the TMI, but I had to get it out there so someone can kick me in the bootie and tell me to stay out of the kitchen! lol

Dragonfly, I wish I could rememer your name, I think you told us it once. I am sorry for what you are feeling today. I hope you feel better soon and I hope they can get into the doctor sooner. I know what you mean about the guilt, only opposite! I am in the middle of wanting a baby so badly right now. I have an IUD that is not going to come out so they is no chance of accidently getting pregnant. Dh feeels we have our hands full and we do, but I am still in the middle of the baby bug. HUGS!!!!!

Thanks, Tammy and Amanda :) Amanda, Nysa is my name. It's said just like "Lisa" only with an "Ny" instead of the "Li" lol.
Big hugs to you too! I can understand your want for a baby, too. Is there no way for the doctor to remove your IUD or has it been absorbed?

My doctor's office is a OB-GYN/Adult/Child Clinic. Alot of their appointments are walk-in's except for the OB-GYN PAPs. They told me this morning that I would just have to call back on a daily basis to see if there has been a cancellation, but most people don't actually call to cancel their appointments, they just don't show up. So, chances are slim that they can get me in before hand, plus, they have to wait until my cycle is finished anyway.

So far, I've managed to stay out of the kitchen. I'm crunching away on Certs and drinking my water, instead of walking into the kitchen ! lol Thanks for the kick in the butt, Tammy! :D

    renaegry, welcome to the group!

Finally I am off to the gym now. I must have been pooped. I laid down for a 30 minute nap and slep for 2 hours! Wow, I feel a little groggy but I am kicking my butt in gear and going to exercise. For some reason, I am absolutely starving today. TOM is coming up next week, maybe that is it?

Renaegry...Welcome. You will love this group!

Nysa; I am so sorry for your pain today!!!! Wish I could give you a big hug!!! Here is an internet one ((((((HUGS)))))))) I agree with everyone else in saying I hope you can get in sooner! The waiting is so hard! God be with you while waiting!!! ;)

Renae.....WELCOME!!!! Jump right in. We love new faces and new ideas!!!

Holy Cow it is 3 already here. Not ready for the day to be almost over. One hour left!!!

So just as a point of discussion.......Does everyone feed their family what you are eating or do you make them something different?

My family actually enjoys and likes to eat healthy. OH don't get me wrong, they definately like their Sonic and Wendy's and McDonalds.....But for meals at home they don't mind eating healthy stuff. In fact I have started using ground turkey a lot more often in place of hamburger and they usually don't know the difference.

I think I am making Tammy's chicken chowder tonight again. They really Liked it. I just have to remember all the stuff....Was there a starch in it? noodles or potatoes or something? I will have to find my recipe!

Hope everyone's sick ones, and all are on a speedy recovery!

    Have a wonderful afternoon!

Ann...I usually just feed them whatever I fix. Occasionally they will refuse and have cereal but overall they eat it. I try to cook very simple, no fancy food as they call it. I'm probably too late for the chowder. I hope you found your recipe but just in case it was about 14 oz of frozen corn for the starch. I use two large chicken breasts cut into small pieces, 2 cans of "chili ready" tomatoes from Wal-Mart (but any are fine), the corn, and a can of cheese soup. I think that is all. Have a good night.

Had another WIN today. I was a 40 inch waist when we started. (and they were getting tight)

The other day I had my wife pick up a pair of size 38 jeans at Kohls so I could wear jeans that fit to work on Fridays. I tried them on the other day and they were too big, so I had her exchange them for a size 36, she brought them home tonight, I tried them on and they were too big.

She wants to buy all kinds of new pants and jeans for me, but I figure I still have about 20 pounds to lose and why waste the money. The good news is all my shirts should fit for the foreseeable future. They will just fit a whole lot better.

Thank you for all the welcomes. Good work justjack, it is a good feeling to be able to put on a pair of pants and have them be to big, let along 4 sizes to big. Keep up the great work.

I have been really good all week, have worked out every day since monday burning anywhere from 260-800 cals. On monday and wed i go to a step aerobics class in the evening, then the other days I either do Bob's BL coot camp, or walk/jog on the treadmill. I eat really good breakfast and lunches and then for supper we eat whatever, somewhat healthy. I am on most days under my calories, except for today.

The hubby and I dropped the kids off at grandparents, and we went into the city (we live in a small town an hour from a big center), for some shopping and a nice supper (since we had no kids) . So we went to Boston Pizza. Well I would have been just slighly over my calories (using all 355 exercise cals), and then the hubby pulls into DQ on the the way out of town for a blizzard. And yesI was weak and had a small one. Well yes it was good, but oh do my guts ache now.

But tomorrow, is a new day.

Grandpa's tests and labs are all coming back really good. It sounds like it is all good news. Maybe he can come home tomorrow.
Emmy's doctor truthfully admitted he didn't know, I  him for that. I hate people who think they know everything, especially docs with the education but not the experience. Her doc truly believes we know her best. They drew several vials of blood to check her med levels and so forth. If her levels come back high then we will adjust them. If they come back normal then he said it is probably just her body regressing. He talked about sending us to Portland which is 400 miles one way from here ot see the Rett Syndrome specialist but truthfully I am not looking forward to that. The PT and us will consult and start working on the specs for her wheelchair and start dealing with the insurance.

Good Thursday morning all...I have to type a few hours and then off to the gym. Everybody have a great day!

    P.S.
I have a question about the new HRM I bought yesterday at Costco. I paid $30 for a Mio Stride and on-line it is $80 so I'm happy with the price but still unsure about it. It says it counts your calories by using your personal heart rate, age, weight, gender and step count. Is this going to count my calories burned when I am doing the Nautilus machines or the bicycle? I haven't opened it yet and wanted to get opinions before I do. Thanks!

I just recently purchased a Mio Motiva Petite, and I love it. It is strapless. After inputting your personal info (which is very easy), when u exercise you just start the exercise timer and take your heart rate. Thru out your work out you take your heart rate every time you have a change in intensity, or you feel your heart rate has change, and by using those heart rates, your personal info, and your resting heart rate (which u cal when setting up watch) it tells you your cal burns. They are suppose to be very accurate, to a certain extent. The mio website has a very good intruction video.

Hope you enjoy the watch, I love mine, I find it very motivating after a work out to see the cals I burnt. My watch records way higher then my treadmill does.

1340 calories burnt this week. Not good, but finally got off my duff and exercised tonight. Hadn't for two days. I feel much better after doing it but my left ankle is still killing me. It hurts to run, I don't know what I did to it. I now have 2160 calories to burn in two days. Don't think it is going to happen. Guess this will have to be my goal for next week. HMMMMMMMM!

Thanks for the info. I am going to go ahead and try it. Hubby is programming it for me today. I ran 34 minutes on the treadmill at the gym last night (well I walked for 6 of those on C25K) and it said I only burned about 214 cals. I was a dripping puddle and my heart was pounding out of my chest. I hope I burned more cals than that. I'll be glad to see what the watch says. Costco said if I opened it and it wasn't what I needed I could still return it, so no way to lose on that one.
