Biking. We have an awesome paved trail system here that runs between two towns and it's about 25 km.

Swimming freestyle (speedwork for an hour in cold water will definetely get you there), biking with 20 + hill accelerations and running at more than 6 mph. Whatever will get your heart rate up and keep it there.

I'm assuming not many people realize how many calories you burn just by swimming. And I mean, doing laps in a pool, not just sitting there BSing with friends with a margarita in hand.

Depending on how fast/vigorous your swim, you can burn close to 500 calories in 45 minutes or so.

My favorite burning calorie workout is bootcamp.

I bike there and back. It gives me 500 calories burned.

The best calorie burn is when I do my Triathlon training: 1km swim, 20km bike and 5km run = 1200 to 1400 calories. Takes about 2 hours.

I can burn 400-500 calories in an hour doing almost any exercise (strength training, running, elliptical, P90X, classes at the gym like zumba, or any combination of these) just gotta do whatever you do with intensity.

Burn about 470 cal doing 45 min treadmill workout walking it was in the fitness magazine. What a killer. If I don't have that much time I do 32 minutes of it.-still burn 350 cal. I also do either 30 DS or Ripped in 30 usually 2 days weekly in place of treadmill.

    Swimming. 2 miles in 1:20 kills 1400.
I haven't done distance cycling for some time. At least ten years since I rode more than 10 miles.
My feet can't take more than 30 minutes on a tread mill.
Recumbent and elliptical get too boring after 30 minutes.
I haven't gotten board swimming yet. I can change the muscle focus and emphasis by changing technique. and it doesn't bother any of the arthritic joints. :glasses:

Cybex Arc Trainer -- It's like a super powered elliptical. I burn about 800 cals an hour on it!

Love th Cybex Arc, I use hill intervals and burn 850-950 an hour. most days I get 420 for 30 minutes.

I have been too sedentary for far too long to be able to physically burn that many calories. My normal cardio has been the C25K. I am on week 6 and burning about 250-300 calories per workout.
