ALMONDS, PEANUTS, SOY BEANS, Cows Milk, Whey, Yogurt, Scallops, Egg in all forms, Filbert, Gluten, Pecan, Spelt, and Whole Wheat.
Don't know which ones, if any, caused me to hold onto weight. It cut them all out to recently to tell. I am intolerant to all of the above foods. I cannot eat them, unless I want to feel like *kitten*. I do recall the first time I cut most of them out (did a hypo-allergenic diet) I lost 10 lbs in a week and another 7 in the following month.0 -
I haven't cut anything out of my diet entirely. I've actually increased the variety of foods that I eat since I started losing weight and eating healthier. I just enjoy things in moderation and some things less frequently than I did before.0

Yes true I have been working on that one....hard with work and kids sometimes but I need to...processed foods0

I didn't cut out any foods.
I did learn that chips and salsa are a particular weakness for me and I am sure to measure the chips out now before I eat even one.
Otherwise, no, I was able to lose the weight and keep it off without removing any foods or drinks from my diet.0 -
Really 10lbs in a week...wow
are almonds really bad for you? I eat them sometimes didnt realize that.ALMONDS, PEANUTS, SOY BEANS, Cows Milk, Whey, Yogurt, Scallops, Egg in all forms, Filbert, Gluten, Pecan, Spelt, and Whole Wheat.

Hi
I've reduced my intake of high fat and sugary foods but I haven't eliminated a particular food group, so if I want a cake or biscuit I will have it but log it faithfully in my food diary. I reckon, I've almost halved my food intake but I would definitely fail, if I made any food forbidden.0 -
Cut down on certain foods but never cut out something completely, just not sustainable for a long term goal, for me anyway.0

ice cream! i try to have it rarely now, as it always makes me balloon on the scale.
even worse...milkshakes. my downfall!
i also cut way down on cheese/dairy, which wasn't too hard.0 -

Same here. Moderation is key and tracking calories will help you. Good luck!0 -

Apart from maybe once per week on the weekend (cheat day) I cut out, for health reasons as well as weight loss: soda, diet soda (artificial sweeteners are BAD NEWS), fast food, anything overly processed or salty or sweet like milk chocolate or Pringle's etc. I also cut out meat (apart from fish) as I've always had digestive issues since I was a toddler and avoiding meat (and actually, most dairy) eradicates this for me therefore helping me to lose weight much more efficiently. And of course, I gave up cake...but only the processed shop-bought kind, I make my own healthy versions and eat them almost every day...like today, I had a goji berry-banana wholemeal protein muffin!
I've lost over 50lbs and kept it off for a year and a half.
Back to it now, only 8lbs to go til goal!0 -
Processed sugar. Eat a moderate amount of natural sugar, but cut out the added sugar which is present in a LOT of low fat products.0

Everything processed.... all I see is sodium.... oh and fast food.... it's just NOT worth it. I kown you can find stuff out there that is low cal... but the sodium will KILL you and hold all that weight in....0

I refuse to cut anything completely out. This is a lifestyle for me, and a healthy lifestyle has room for occasional indulgences like soda and pizza, in my opinion. I definitely eat a lot less junk in general than I used to though. Of course I used to exist primarily on Sprite, cookie dough, and alfredo sauce, so.... ....yeah there have been some "tweaks" to the nutrition plan. :bigsmile:0

I need to cut out alcohol. At the end of each day that I have been over on calories, if I eliminated wine (really all i drink) I would be at or under my desired calories for the day. I have cut back, but not enough and the needle on the scale is still not moving.
I do love my red wine......0 -
I don't know if I've cut out anything completely. I have added alternatives to my fave things, like I have a Skinny Cow ice cream sandwich instead of Ben & Jerry's ice cream. Or I have a protein shake instead of a milkshake. Or I have half a Cliff Mojo bar instead of a candy bar. As you can tell, sweets are my downfall!0

I mean, not exactly. You don't have to cut out any certain food group in order to "lose weight" as long as you stay under your calories. But healthier foods will contribute to a better-working body, which in turn could positively affect the functioning of your metabolism, glands, etc.
I still allow myself any food I want, because sometimes I just really want a Coke Zero or some chips or cookies. But I try to choose veggies and lean proteins and things instead most of the time, and I drink tons of water. And sometimes I make my own healthy versions of chips or cookies or whatever at home. That's what's so cool about food-- if you play with the ingredients enough, you can have you cake and eat it, too, so to speak.
But I WOULD consider cutting out any foods that make you feel sick. A lot of people don't realize they're lactose-intolerant, for example, but 80% of the adult population in the WORLD is. I am. Foods like dairy that some people have trouble digesting can inhibit absorption of other vitamins and minerals. Trouble foods can also make you quite bloated and FEEL like you've gained weight, even if you haven't.
So, basically, it's all about knowing your body, staying away from foods that might cause you to "binge," but allowing yourself some indulgences. Good luck!0 -
Not a damn thing
I refuse to diet. I refuse to eat a salad when everyone else is eating gravy & biscuits.
I refuse to sip water during football...
Moderation & portion control & you dont HAVE to give up a thing! If you deprive yourself, you are only setting yourself up for failure. Learn how to eat PROPERLY or live miserable in a bowl of greens for the rest of your life!
just my opinion, and its working for me.0 -
I didn't cut anything out I just cut back on everything.0

You have to cut everything out. Seriously. Just stop eating. You will lose weight way faster0
-
I haven't cut out anything in particular but I have tried restraining myself when it comes to alcohol, sugar, processed food and fat. I've found that counting calories is the best way and you can pretty much eat anything (in moderation) as long as your meeting your calorie goals.
Also - up the water intake!0
