Oh , those bloody cookies at subway! I go into subway "to be good" then the next thing I know Ive bought 2 or 3 of those cookies, and at around 200cals each, its more calories then my measly salad sub!

Yeah, you'd be better off getting a 12 inch veggie sub than a 6 inch and cookies. Darn cookies look SO good....

A 6 inch and cookies? Sounds like a fun date.

    <snerk>

Cereal for sure! I didn't know how many calories 100 grams could contain :noway:
And I haven't eaten any in quite a few months, it's so hard because they are like one of my favorite things to eat...

440 calories for an Asiago bagel with reduced fat veggie cream cheese from Panera. Womp, womp.

I guess I shouldn't have been surprised by that... it IS basically bread and cheese, after all.

Hamburger/Hotdog buns. A lot of varieties are over 200 per bun. I've switched to sandwich thins which are only 100 and really aren't that much different except they aren't as poofy.

The chocolate shake at White castle: 1.680 calories :noway:
Dairy Queen Large cookie dough blizzard: 1,320 calories
Dairy Queen Chicken Strip basket: 1,270 calories :noway:
Mcdonalds big breakfast: 1,140 calories :ohwell:

Needless to say I don't eat out anymore, if I have to I go to taco bell and get a single fresco burrito or Subway and get a 6inch spinach and egg white flat bread.

I don't understand why people say that popcorn shocked them. An entire bag of Orville Redenbacher's SmartPop microwave popcorn is something like 220 calories. It's my go to snack because it takes awhile to eat. It's certainly better than chips which can get out of hand in a big hurry.

Olive Garden salad and breadsticks. You can do more hurt with those than you can with the meal.

I agree with this...had this at Olive Garden (minus the bread sticks) and about fell over when I logged it! SOOO not worth it!!!!!!

You can make your own 'trop50' by diluting your oj 50% with water

Tortillas. Soft-taco size is 110 a piece, but when I eat tacos I tend to inhale them. Not fun. I've tried making my own tortillas and they turn out icky, so I just take it easy on them overall.

  • I work at a bakery, we always look at the calories in new stuff. We are still shocked by honey buns, which are 600 calories.

OMG losing weight and working in a bakery? I wouldn't succeed, I am telling you!

Arby's Market Fresh Turkey and Swiss sandwich. 720 calories!!!!!! I could of had the roast beef!
  • Pretty much anything on the 99 Restaurant menu!! We were on the road today and were out much longer than expected, so we stopped there for lunch! Thank God for my smart phone...I looked up calories before ordering and went with least damage...which cost 520 calories...most of the other choices I would have picked were over 1000 and 1300 calories!! An entire day's food in one sitting...no thanks! (even though preMFP I wouldn't have thought twice about it!)
  • Seeing a whole lot of people shocked about 1000 calorie meals and such, or that they are eating a slice of pie that has 800 calories and it is half of their daily intake. You should never be shocked at the calorie count of anything: chips are either tortilla or potato . . . both dense high calorie foods. Cake is cake, no matter how you slice it (haha slice), muffins are cake marketed as a breakfast food, all they are is oversized cupcakes. If you watn a low calorie dinner, here's a great one: Tyson's frozen chicken tenderloins (1 serving), 1 serving of Trader Joe's ready to cook brown rice, and some Del Monte fresh whole potatoes (they're in a can). Eat 1 serving of all those things i guarantee you'll be full and you will only have had about 3-400 calories. Also, the more protein you eat, the more full you'll feel, and longer.
