Round the world plane ticket! I leave for New Zealand in November, then Australia, Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam
That's my kinda splurge!
I'm far more apt to spend money on experiences (especially travel) than things. Sounds like a dream trip. Have fun!0 -
I didn't purchase them, but my kids are pretty damn expensive.0

Before kids : $3000.00 on weight equipment.

When I was in college, I bought myself a sapphire and diamond ring that I had been admiring for months and months.0

I don't have any kids but my car was definitely the most expensive item. 2nd most would be my laptop.0

Other than my car
A limited edition paintball gun, I think it came up to $2800 and then I didn't like it and sold it two weeks later...0 -

A $1300 Coach fur-collared leather jacket--complete impulse buy one Sunday afternoon. I'm still working on fitting back into the darn thing!0

I would say my Jeep, but it's our sole personal vehicle used to transport the kids to school/games/etc. so not really for myself.
I would have to say my running shoes. After my first 5k it was my guilty reward for finishing my first 5k still running, so I went to Runners Forum and got fitted for some Sauconis. At $110 it's the most expensive shoes I've ever bought for myself. :blushing:0 -
A degree. Outside of that, a computer for that degree.0

A house. I never quite finished paying for that one though.
I'm still paying for mine and learning to fix it, now not likely to splurge due to said house and repairs. But even before the house I didn't like to spend money on myself.
I sold the one I bought for myself0 -
Won $5k on a 25 cent slot machine. *kitten* took me & the hubs to the Bahamas....
Nothing expensive on myself....... yet.0 -

All-Clad SS Cookware! My old cheap cookware had a handle that was loose. The pot turned and spilled hot food on me. I told my husband that I wasn't cooking another meal until I got new cookware. He told me to go buy whatever I wanted and I did. He wasn't expecting me to spend $700 on a set of cookware but now he realizes it was a great investment.0
