    I'd like to get in on this challenge. I usually bike to/from work every day, it's about a 5 mile round trip. I have been trying to talk myself into taking the 'long way' home to get in a few more miles each day. Maybe this challenge is just what I need?

    I am in for October. Setting my goal for 200 miles. Since last months crash I will be starting slow. Getting better, started riding again today and I think by end of week I will be back to a normal ride 20 miles or so.

    10/1 - 23.5 miles - 13.4 ave - got my goal for the week 1st. day. Hip and Ribs felt good
    10/4 - 18.5 miles - 13.7 ave - very warm but windy SW 25 mph gusts to 31
    10/11 - 32.2 miles - 13.6 ave. - 61* nice out still a little windy

    74.2 miles for October = 1683.7 YTD

    How fun, I set myself a goal to ride 200 miles this month. So far this month I've ridden 81.

    I try to ride at least an hour at a time and go between 10 and 14 miles depending on the split between path and trail. I'm quite a bit slower on the trail.

    I have a Schwinn Frontier FS that I've been dragging around since 2001 and I'm lucky enough to live very close to a nice set of bike trails in South East Michigan (Dodge Park, Sterling Heights MI)

    I keep notes in my exercise diary about avs/mxs in my exercise journal, if anyone wanted to add me. Only been on this site for a couple of weeks now so my friend list is a bit light.

    Happy Trails!

    Rode 15 miles in 83 minutes. Need to be a little more careful on the trails, fallen leaves hiding obstacles on path/:

    Goal 100 miles

    10/3/12
    14.2 miles
    10/4/12
    15.3 miles
    10/13/2012
    21 miles
  • My goal is 90+ miles a week, so basically I hit about 360-375 miles a month. So far for the month, I'm at 200 for the month. So I'm a little ahead of my pace. I'm on a 450 mile pace, so that's my goal.

    02/10 - 7miles (stationary bike)
    07/10 - 19miles (ave. 10mph - including 10min break halfway up a rather large hill!!)
    09/10 - 23miles (11.5miles each way to work)
    10/10 - 4.5miles (stationary bike)
    13/10 - 9miles (stationary bike)

    Total = 62.5miles
    Goal = 100miles

    Why do stationary bike miles seem sooooo much harder than outside miles?! 11miles in an hour going to work and only 9miles in an hour on my exercise machine!!

    I find this too. I can go for hours on a real bike but struggle with 30 minutes on an exercise bike. Maybe its that we can't coast on down hills?

    10.56 miles in 60 minutes. 16.7 mxp, 10.2 avs. Was a little slow today, the path was wet and slippery. Still nice ride, around 65 degrees and the rain help off.

    Updated Spin/Cycling minutes:
    10/12: 60 min spin class
    10/13: 60 min spin (on my own)
    10/14: Road ride about 60 min (17 miles)

    It appears that I still have a way to go before I can run again (heel injury) so to keep me from getting frustrated about that, I'm going to set a goal for this week to Spin/Cycle everyday. Just for this week. This will be hard, but I'm hoping it will keep my mind off the fact that I can't run.

    I feel like such a slug. I started this thread and haven't been doing my rides. I am really struggling to find the time. I'm hoping that I can get in a short ride between picking up carpool and driving to swimming lessons. I really need to get out of my All or Nothing mindset. I tend to think that if I don't have time to ride 15-25 miles, then I don't have time to ride at all. 5 miles is better than nothing, right?

    Keep up the good work.
  • Hope it is not too late to join?

    Would love in!

    I spin and love love love it!
