Exactly the same! I could sit here and make excuses or be cranky about it but I know I did not put in the effort that I should have. That needs to change. I am determined to keep a more accurate food diary, work on a better water intake and much less sodium. Those are my goals for this coming week. Hope this time next week, I am able to mark down a fantastic number.

last night i was back down to 180.2 from 185+ - this am i'm 182.4 - thinking the sodium in my pork/dinner last night hit me on the scale....not great to start out with a gain but i'll get it back, this i promise myself....

Alright, I suppose it's time I introduce myself, too!
I'm Shannon. I am originally from Northern Virginia, and now live in Raleigh, NC. I am an Environmental Engineer for a state agency. I am married to a great guy and we have two furbabies -- our basset hounds George and Watson. We intend to start a family eventually, but at 25 I have plenty of time to become a mom. I just moved to Raleigh last month after a miserable year in a horrible job. I started this journey in March of last year (shortly after my wedding) and lost about 25 pounds rather quickly. Well, then my job became unbearable and my health goals fell by the wayside. I wound up putting on about 12 pounds over 6 months. I have recently hopped back on the bandwagon in part due to the urging of Denise (you're the best, seriously).
As far as getting healthy goes, I tend to be really good about eating. I cook all my meals for the week on Sunday, which leaves very little room for temptation. That isn't to say I don't splurge here and there, but for the most part I have my eating under control. My downfall is making exercise a routine and priority. I am a very goal-oriented person, and I have a hard time establishing goals in my exercise. I'm working on it, but it's an ongoing struggle.
I'm so glad to be in this group. I am so happy to see that some of y'all are reporting losses this week. For those of you who are up a little bit, or maintaining, I hope the coming week goes a little better for you!0 -

Becca you totally got this. I go through this a lot too, and man it really does get frustrating. ((hope I don't stall now that I'm moving again)) I did notice a change when I upped my water intake and took the advice of everyone and ate a little more than I was eating. It is a NEW week... we got this!0 -

Sorry for the late post everyone! I tend to access MFP from my phone mostly, so couldn't post! Congrats to those of you who lost! So...now our biggest loser gets to put up a challenge, right? :-)0

Looks like everyone had a great week. Even if there was a small gain, I am sure that being responsible to post your progress is helping with choices!! This is only week 1 - we still have so much time to reach out goals!!!
Great job everyone!!!!!!!!!!!

In all of the challenges I have been a part of, I have never been the biggest loser! I have been thinking of what my challenge would be for 18 months! So, my challenge to you guys this week is two-fold.
1. Do something nice for yourself every day this week. It doesn't have to be big: throw on some lip gloss, spend an extra 5 minutes in the shower just because, go to bed 10 minutes earlier just to lay in bed by yourself, brag about yourself in your MFP status, buy a new headband or wink at yourself every time you pass a mirror. Getting skinny/healthy is great, but if you don't know how to be nice to yourself when you get to your goal weight, you won't be satisfied. Tell us about what you did, or are doing!
2. Make an effort to burn 350 extra calories this week. That's 'only' 50 extra calories a day. So, do 15 jumping jacks during every commercial break of your favorite sitcom, bump the treadmill an extra 2% for the last 5-10 minutes you're on it, jog for 5 minutes during your walk, or throw an extra cardio session in this week. It doesn't have to be exactly 350 calories -- I'm just saying, kick it up a tiny notch this week. Even if it just means walking around the entire floor on your way back to your desk from your potty break... just move a little bit more.
Keep up the good work, y'all. Love yourself and move your soon-to-be-much-smaller butts!0 -
love them shannon....challenge accepted...
hmmmmm, now to think about how to love myself and what i'll do to earn those 50 extra calories a day.....0 -

Love the challenge Shannon and I greatly accept!!!
Tonight I looked in the mirror and said "I love you for who you are today, tomorrow, and always"!!!!0 -
Alright ladies week one down and I am very proud of all of us let's continue to work hard towards being the best we can be.0
-
challenge success for today:
1. i'm headed to bed a few minutes early to read my book for 15 mins before drifting off to sleep...i never get to read anymore and i really want to finish this nicholas sparks book.....
2. i also busted my *kitten* at the YMCA on the elliptical for 28 mins before spin class to get 3 miles (original goal was 2) and an "extra" 50 cals burned...
have a good night...0
