Guys, be honest,....

people are hard wired to be attracted to people with a healthy weight, it's just how it is.
People are hard wired for a number of things, not just in finding a suitable mate. As we all know, wires can go wrong.
Sometimes it's nature, sometimes it's nurture, even self-inflicted nurture.
Some guys have low self-esteem and feel these women won't leave them. Most "self-professed" "chubby chasers" I have met are also over weight, out of shape, crappy self-esteem and go after women who they think they have more of a chance with and won't feel the pressure of getting into better shape, and again won't leave. It can also be categorized in the fetish zone which is just an odd placement of a wire. I knew one guy who was pretty trim and an over all great guy who had one helluva b!tchy & controlling wife who was quite over weight. The reason he stayed? Low self esteem and didn't think he could do better.
On some occasions, there is the factor that charm beats weight out of the ballpark or she can suck chrome off a bumper.0 -
I have read somewhere that it depends on the waist to hip ratio. Men are innately attracted to women with small waists compared to their hips because it shows a good sign of fertility. They may not realize it, but their attraction is because of their subconscious mind. The curvy female in the picture showed an overweight female, but she was still curvy, with her waist still smaller than her hips. Some women look good with meat on their bones because of their fat distribution meanwhile others do not.0

You never look at an overweight or obese girl and say "damn she's hot. do you?? I've even caught my husband saying how thin women are hot, but never any that are overweight or obese.0
-
Attractive? Yes.
Hot? No.
That's why I started this journey, I want to be in the weight range and I supposed to be, and I want a smoking hot girl.0 -
Interesting topic. As an extremely introverted person, I feel awkward talking to men that I don't know really, really well. In fact, I feel awkward even being in the same room. My point is, I'm living proof that confidence DOES matter (contrary to an earlier comment). I was hardly ever noticed even when I was thin and fit. The fact is, extremely quiet people are invisible, and nobody can find you attractive if they don't SEE you.
Anyway, that's not really what I wanted to say. I wanted to say that I did notice a very slight increase in male attention when I was thin and fit, but it was extremely slight. While I'm heavy, I might have 10 men flirt with me over the course of a year. When I was thin, it might have been 11.
However, there is a very different quality to the flirting, depending on my relative weight/fitness. When I'm heavy, more of the men who flirt are quality men. When I was thin, nearly all of the men who flirted were scuzz bags looking for a one-night-stand.
That's not to say that I want to remain heavy, but the attention when I was thin was most definitely of the unwanted variety.0 -
IRONY OF PEACE BAHAHAHAHA Goal weight 115, says 120lb is underweight
WOMEN LOGIC, it blows my mind
Please show me one place where I said 120 is underweight.
I'll wait.
You dont deserve my reply,
Goal weight 115lb
says 120 is underweight
sorry but that made me laugh so hard
for certain heights, yes...what don't you understand about that?0 -

SO you claim that when you were "thin and fit" that more men still approached you?
Yet you cling so dearly to this "mystical" confidence that did it for you.
I am sorry, reality check, men like thinner women, deal with it.0 -
Truth- We all look at women. A fact of males is that we always look at a woman's face before we do her breast or butt. IS all is good then we continue looking her up and down. So if your over weight and attractive we will check the rest of you out if all is well haha.0

Honestly I have been attracted to and dated many different shapes and sizes --
and regardless, I guess the real question is why the question?
What do you do with the answer.
Love yourself and the process - the rest will follow - just my opinion...
All of us are constantly (myself included) looking to others for how we should judge ourselves - we are each unique and bring something to the table - you deserve happiness and that's more than a weight or shape or any one thing.
Have a great day!0 -
Shamelessly tooting my own horn here, I am obese. The guys at work, more than one, think I'm hot as hell and would date me in a heartbeat if I weren't married. BUT if I weren't funny and friendly and congenial with them, I feel that it would be completely different. Same way these same guys probably wouldn't go out with the skinny b!tch in the other office if they had the chance. Personality has a ton to do with it. For someone just seeing me out on the street, I get compliments sometimes but mostly from black guys. They love big women for some reason. Fine with me, makes me feel good no matter who notices!0

At my heaviest i was 360 pounds and my husband is so fit he fluctuates between just flat abs and a bonafide 6 pack.
When we first met, he later said his initial attraction to me was i " looked like a rapper's girlfriend".
This was a compliment of course. It was posture, the way i set my shoulders, not afraid to look him in
the eye, and an ample chest didnt hurt. I've lost 85 ponds and he doesn't chase me any more or less
than he used to. They are out there and they are more terrified of you than you are of not finding them.
Enjoy the search.0 -

Personally, I do think that is on the verge of underweight. I work for an insurance company, and the minimum insurable weight for someone 5'9" is 115lbs. However, I'm not saying she's unhealthy.0 -
I am slightly curious as to why you are wonder. I mean, are you thinking about being hot in the eyes of other men? Does your husband make fun of you?
no. he would never do that. I'm asking because I see it all around me. I have some co workers and other people I know who are heavier and guys want nothing to do with them. They are nice, sweet great personality, but guys would rather have the twig working checkstand 2 with not an ounce of fat and no personality. It just really pisses me off.0 -
Tbh I much prefer a girl who has curves than one who is stick thin. I want a woman who looks like a woman, not one who basically looks like a boy in a bra.
If that means she has a few extra pounds thats fine with me
Obese can mean quite a wide range. For example many girls with curves and a little bit of extra flesh and look great are technically classified as obese.0 -
Wow, this got all kinds of nasty. OP simply asked if men are attracted to bigger women. The answer, in general, is not especially. It should not come as a shock to anyone that men tend to prefer more svelt looking women, on the whole. Of course, as in anything, there are exceptions, and "outliers" that will skew things a bit, but if you were to ask 100 men to be totally honest, with the guarantee of anonymity, the majority would say, if given the exact same woman, but a thinner version and a bigger version, they'd choose the thinner.
Why is this question asked a million times, and why do women get all upset by the answers (however douchey) men give?!
yup just simply asked a question0 -

I'm now 215lbs and on a night out I get a ridiculous amount of attention. It doesn't make me comfortable and I'm not used to it.. But there's no denying it... I still got a lot of attention at 225 even 230...But anything above that much, much less. Gotta tell you though a lot of women were looking at me like they wanted to do me harm lol. I don't go out often and I don't think they'll liked it there was a new girl on the scene getting a lot of attention. 215 is slim by no means, have a long way to go... But it seems a lot of men like me at this weight. Do I think that will be the case even more as I lose more? Probably... But I could have had my pick of a lot of nice looking guys if that's what I would have wanted... Don't get down about your weight... There's a man for everyone. X0

Life isn't always fair. But in general men prefer a thinner woman over an overweight or obese one, and they are entitled to their preferences no matter how much it pisses people off.
I feel bad for your overweight friends who are passed over for the twig with no personality, but it'd probably be easier for them to lose the weight than for the girl to grow a personality.0 -
My husband has commented "too skinny" about someone that I thought looked very attractive. He's always telling me he likes my rear view, and I always think "what's wrong with him?!"0

but my point is men seem to be more and more shallow with looks. My husband put it a good way. He said do you really want a !@#$buddy who looks good but thats it>??? Or a woman with personality who you can make love to and actually feel good about being with. Good point0 -

There are men who both prefer a thin woman AND care about personality. And yes, such women do exist. Thin, fit, educated women with personalities are out there. Thing is, the men who prefer thin women and personality are going to look for their match within the pool of thin women. Because that's still their preference.0 -

The term shallow is subjective.
I find that women who deem certain personality traits as "unacceptable" more shallow than physical appearance.
(as far as weight is concerned). Changing your weight is much easier than changing a personality is it not?
So why should women judge a man on his personality?
Oh yeah that is right because women will women and men will men.
That is life.0
