What are grandmas called in your family?

I just found out I am going to be a grandma. This baby will have alot of grandmas and great grandmas. I want to go by something else, so it won't be so confusing. What have you heard grandmas called?

One was Nana and the other was Grandma...shocking, I know! I was born way after other grandkids, so the names were established before I came along!

My kids and nieces and nephews all call my mom "Hamma", because the oldest couldn't say "Grandma" when he was learning to talk...other than that, we always use "Grandma"...I have always preferred "Nana", but it best be a long while before I have to think about it!! LOL

do you have any pets? when I was a kid I had lots of grandparents and as they were all called nanny, to differentiate they became nanny 'insert pet's name' so nanny chico, nanny suki, nanny bossie, except the one that didn't have a pet was nanno or nannio and although her husband passed away before I was born i hear that my mum used to call him daddio (they were my great grandparents)

I've called all my grandmothers "Grandma".

Wife calls one of hers "Nana". Our kids call her by the same name, and they call my wife's mother "Mama".

Mamgu and Nain, but I'm Welsh.

    My great grandma was Mamgu!
    I had a Grandma and a Grannie
My kids have a Grandma and a Nana, and my eldest renamed my Grandma - Grandmama cos she didn't want to use Mamgu.

As a child, I always called my grandparents "Grandma/Grampa __fill in last name here___"--rather formal, but we lived far away from extended family.
But I also had a "Meema" and as a teen we lived closer to one set of grandparents and "granny" and "gramps" came up a lot.

my mom is NeeNee... odd i know... but when my oldest daughter was 1 1/2 or so, she used to just scream nee nee all the time and we had no idea what she was talking about, turns out she was referring to my mom. It just stuck, now both my girls call her that and my oldest is almost 4 =)

husband's mom is nana, but they don't hardly see her at all. My grandma is great-nee-nee

I call mine Gram or Gramma.

My daughter calls my mother Mom, but that was an accident. My BF's mother is Mimi to her grandkids.

And my grandfather is Grandpa. To my daughter, he's Big Grandpa and my father is Little Grandpa.

    MeMa

My daughter wasnt able to say grandma when she was younger, so she started calling her grandmothers "Mema"

    MeMa Ona
    MeMa Sheila
    MeMa Sue

I think its kind of cute :)

She can now say grandma but sometimes still prefers to call them MeMa
