Crystal I'm sorry to hear of the crazy experience you had at work I know that had to be scary and you did the right thing quitting. No need to risk your life for a job. I definitely understand having to work though I pray you find a safer job soon. As for your daughter I don't know if she's at the hormonal teen ages or not but I know mines are and Im waiting for the day when they come back to say mom you were right. After putting us through this stress. Keep your head up your a strong young lady doing great things for yourself don't let this bump in the road stop you continue to push forward. I have you in my thoughts and prayers. As you said we have to stick together.
Are there any general local family practices you can go to and have them refer you out accordingly to your needs? I was having the same issue when I relocated no one was taking new patients and when one finally did I had a book of everything I had concerns with. I hope your concerns are met soon. Take care Crystal better days are ahead!!0 -
I AM NOT MOVING IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION! FOCUS.

Morning Ladies...
Sorry but I'm going to pass. I just became too overwhelmed with everything I'm trying to do. I'm backing off from all the challenges and stuff. I haven't been on a scale in a while and I'm okay with it now, it got obsessive for a bit there. I've created a routine for myself and been sticking with it every day for the past 1.5 weeks. I'm not leaving MFP of course just taking a "breather"
I applaud everyone here, it's amazing what you are all doing. Hopefully I'll be able to join you again.
Big hugs!!

 Many things going on right now. First on the line up? Helping my mother in law. She is going through some major health issues and there is an appointment today to determine whether she will have a toe amputated. Sorry I have not been around to comment on how well everyone is doing. Not happy with my numbers for this challenge thus far but I guess I am thankful that I have not gone off the deep end with stress eating as I have in the past.0 -
becca i'm sorry you are stuggling with family health issues....mary i'm sorry to see you drop from the challenge but understand you need to do what is best for you....crystal i dont know what to say to help other than that we are here to lend an ear and continue to support you as you struggle with your job and your daughters health......everyone just needs to hang in there and put some focus on yourself cause as i have said in the past and will continue to say - you are not good to help others if you are not able to help yourself - this is why they tell you to put the air mask on yourself first on a plane if it is going down....taking care of ourselves first is NOT selfish - it is a necessity in order to help others...
char was our biggest loser this week with 1.6% lost with clarita still holding out as our biggest loser to date with 6% total lost since the start....hang in there girls, we have 3 more weighins until the new year...let's all push it so each of us can say we had a LOSS by the new year....even if it is just a 1/2 a pound in the whole time we have been doing the challenge - any loss over the holidays is a HUGE success.....so the next few weeks i challenge each of us that are still showing GAINS (me, nancy, becca, char and chris) from our start weights on 10/23 to push extra hard to get down to our start weight less 1/2 lb....WE CAN DO THIS....forget your goal loss or goal weight for the new year at this point and really focus on POSTING A LOSS by 1/1/13....
char can you give us a challenge this week as you are the biggest loser...thanks, denise

Hi Crystal, Mary, Becca and everyone, I sympathize with the challenges you (and we) all are going through. I appreciate this group, not just for the physical health support, but that we have been able to share other challenges in our lives and be there for each other through that. I wish we could meet in person. Crystal I pray that you find a new job soon that you enjoy.0

Wow I was in no way expecting to be the biggest loser!!
Okay this week challenge will be since I see a few of us are having a few struggles going on me included will be:
1. Do something nice for yourself each day ex. Take a nice hot long bubble bath
2. Have a no meat day this week
3. Try a new Workout to mix things up ex. Zumba class, cycling, or pole dancing something you normally wouldn't do.
4. If water has falling to the waste side I know a lot of people don't like to drink it much during winter months pick it back up this week 8-10 cups per day!!!
Lets have a great week ladies remember we have to first take care of self to tackle the weight of the world! !!!0 -
Thanks Char, great challenge! I accept I think my new workout will be running. I will try my best to do it Saturday. I'll need your accountability though! More water and a no meat day - no problem. Do something nice for myself each day: I'll have to plan ahead to make this happen. 7 nice things I can think of to last me through next week: 1) exercise, 2) pray/read Bible, 3) call a friend, 4) take a technology fast (one day with no web surfing, no TV and no games/apps), 5) pedicure/manicure, 6) buy myself a small Christmas gift ($10), 7) take a walk during lunch instead of just sitting at my desk. Whoa, it's sad how hard it was to come up with that list of nice things.0

Wonderful list of things to do for yourself I certainly need to take a day from technology!! I will definitely check in on you to see how the week is going for you. Today I will be doing my no meat day if all goes well I may push for another before the week ends.0 -
Can someone tell me how to add pics here to the group? Please0
-
Hosting the Picture
1) Go to an image-hosting site (for example, photobucket or tinypic- photobucket requires making an account). Upload your picture. To do this, click the button that says "Browse" and choose your photo from there. When you have selected your photo and clicked "OK", click the UPLOAD button.
2) Wait until it is completely loaded and shows you a bunch of different codes. We're going to use the URL that's called IMG (or Image) code. Highlight the entire code, right click, and click "copy".
Placing the Picture on MFP
1) Get onto your favorite board or wherever you would like to post the picture, and start your message. Now, right click inside this typing/text box, and click "Paste", The code that you coped earlier should show up. You may notice that the code looks something like this: (without the spaces)
Well, that's all fine and dandy, except that we can't have those capital letters in there.
2) Take the code that you have down, and change the capital IMG to lowercase img (on both ends of the code), so that it looks something like this: *********** (without the spaces)
[ img ] http://i48.tinypic.com/qqebzq.jpg [ /img ]
3) Write whatever else you feel like writing in the space, then click the Post button, and you're done!!Can someone tell me how to add pics here to the group? Please0 -
Okay Thanks Denise!!!0

Congrats Clarita and Char!!!!!
I will *try* the no meat thing before Wednesday. I think I can do that. ((I love my chicken))
I will also try something new....actually wanted to since it has been too cold to get out and walk/jog.
Upping my water... I'm doing pretty good there, but maybe hit 14 glasses instead of 13.
I have a job interview at Aldi's supermarket Monday early afternoon. If that doesn't pan out I have other places I will be looking into that isn't in the *slums* of Warren. When you are desperate for a job, you take whatever... but this time I'm being more selective.
Everything will work out.
I took my daughter off all her medications except her Adderall (which is to help her concentrate while she is in school) So... we will see if that helps her. I honestly believe all those meds were working against each other and making her worse. I have also watched her gain a LOT of weight because those drugs were making her hungry.
So... here is to another week. Good luck everyone.0 -
Clarita how did your Saturday run go? Are you getting those nice things in for yourself? Hope things are going as planned enjoy the rest of your weekend!!!0

No progress this week I blame the Xmas dinner and the cookies/brownies at school. I thought an extra workout & being calorie-strict the following days would undo it but I guess I should just be happy it wasn't more of an increase.

Happy Monday everyone! Just wanted to say hi to you all
InPieces3: Good luck on your job interview! Let us know how it goes!
Time2getFit4Life: Thanks for checking in on me These last couple weeks before Christmas are crazy - I've had more events and less time than usual. I did not run on Saturday, but I'll do it soon and let you know - thanks for helping me stick to it! Praying and exercising daily and calling/spending time with friends - check! No meat day, technology fast, mani/pedi, buy myself a treat - not done yet but I'll do them by Wednesday. Walking at lunch - I did on Friday but it didn't feel long enough so I want to do it again - I think I can today.
I hope you all have a fantastic day!!0 -
Realized its only Tuesday lol I'll record here today and them again tomorrow hehe hoping it goes down more

Happy to be down even though I'm not back in the 170s yet. I logged a gain here on mfp since I'm up 2 wks in a row. I was mid 180s this weekend and early this week so I'll take this happily. Switched gears - just want to end the year less than when I started this challenge. 2 more weeks to get there. I can do it.0 -
Hi everyone! I had a nice walk during lunch yesterday and today. I also bought myself some earrings! I don't see running happening this week - it's been crazy getting ready for Christmas, and we're driving out of state on Friday and Saturday. But I will be able to run next week - I'll let you know how it goes.0

Not really sure what's been going on to have gained 5.6lbs over the last two weeks. I know that I have had a few chocolates and a mince pie here and there, and I haven't done much exercise other than walking, but I certainly haven't over-eaten to the tune of 20,000 calories. Grrrrr!
Hoping it's a combination of stress (work, study and Christmas), water weight and TOM.....0 -

I totally rocked last week's challenge at the last minute yesterday! Yesterday I did no meat, technology fast (the only exception was weighing in on this thread), and I tried a new type of exercise! I ended up going to a circuit/boot camp in the park that I've never been to before - it was really cool, lots of different types of people, men and women and even kids. There was a lot of running involved. The only thing I didn't get to this last week was a mani/pedi. I still plan to run and do a mani/pedi this coming week - I have two weeks of vacation so it will be easier to find the time.
How are all of you doing? I can't wait for our new challenge!0 -
I would love your prayers - driving tonight and all day tomorrow from southern california to northern oregon, over snowy and icy mountains. Praying for no accidents or car trouble and no need to spend an extra night on the road! Thanks!
Great work everyone!0 -
