Hard Boiled Eggs aka gooey glob of gross

Hard boiled eggs aren't gooey...are you thinking soft boiled??
Your doin it wrong0 -
Two words: Egg salad! Throw a little mayo, some mustard, salt, pepper, and even some scallions and it makes eggs so much better. I'm not a fan of hard boiled egg yolks, but they're bearable when combined with the aforementioned. I absolutely love deviled eggs.0

you're not cooking them long enough then - i believe it's 12 minutes.0 -
Mmmmm. I love hard boiled eggs. Sometimes I just eat the egg whites becuase the yellow part does feel gooey sometimes.0

If you don't like something, you don't have to eat it. You know plenty of other alternatives for quick protein snacks, i.e. a cheese string. So why force yourself. Nutrition doesn't have to be torture
...lol. You should try a pickled egg mmmmmmm.0 -
"Death Box Eggs".
1: HA, death box
2: ALWAYS break the yolk before microwaving an egg. It WILL explode if you don't. Not cool.0 -
I haven't read all the replies but I have been making Hard boiled eggs in the morning bringing them to work and making Egg salad with it... Just an idea...0

I make scrambled eggs in the microwave at work all the time. Put them in a covered container the night before with some chopped canadian bacon (or whatever else you want in there), pop it in the microwave for 30 second bursts stirring in between until they're fluffy. add cheese at the end. Voila.0

I'm eating hard boiled egg whites now -- I LOVE THEM!
You can scramble them in the mic though...I'd do that.0 -
If you like eggs but just not hardboiled, try this:
Get a whoopie pie pan or a jumbo muffin tin. Grease it and crack an egg into each well. Puncture the yolk with a knife. Crack pepper onto each. Bake at 350 degrees 10-15min.
Put each egg on a toasted english muffin with a thin slice of cheese and a pre-cooked meat of your choice (bacon, sausage, turkey bacon, soy sausage, etc).
I freeze them wrapped in tin foil and then microwave or bake them to reheat. If you microwave, flip it over a couple times while you do or the cheese will melt out and the bottom part of the english muffin will steam itself.0 -
I wonder if there are other methods of preparing eggs
Hmmm...I wonder...
Anyways... I need something quick to grab, go and eat. I can't whip up some scrambled eggs or an omlet at work. Unless you know how to prepare those using a microwave? I'm not a huge fan of "re-heating" scrambled eggs or omlets.
Thanks for you wise input though.
I learned how to microwave a "fried" egg. It takes about a minute in the microwave in a shallow bowl with wax paper over it.0 -
Why don't you poach the eggs instead? You are not using oil and can cook it which ever way you like, hard or soft. During my weekend brunches I like to place my poached eggs on dry toast and a side salad.0

If they are gooey, you didnt boil them long enough.
Or you didn't describe them properly and you just don't like hard boiled eggs & chose to describe them as gooey.0 -
If you make sure to cook them longer they shouldn't be gooey at all.0

Get a whoopie pie pan or a jumbo muffin tin.
I'm sorry, but get a what???0 -
what about low fat mozereella sticks?
Low fat mozzarella sticks = eggs nutritionally?
*sigh*
I HEART U.0 -
Ok, so my nutritionist insticts tell me I NEED hard boiled eggs. Good protein..yada, yada, yada. My problem is, I can't stand the texture of them. I can deal with the taste, but the texture just reminds me of eating a gooey, smelly glob of grossness. Anyone have any thoughts or ideas to make this better? Thanks!
why do they have to be hard boiled? hard boiled eggs are nasty as hell. Just eat them however you like eggs. Over easy, in my case. or soft boiled. Or anything.
nutritionally there should be no difference between any egg prep so if she thinks you need to eat them, just eat them how you like.0 -

Oh I just saw your response that you need to take them to go. Why? Eat eggs at night if you're lacking in eggs, have something else easy to grab in the morning? But yeah you CAN microwave eggs, I'm told. But assuming the nutritionist wants you to have protein + health fats you could always just have some protein powder and nuts.
otherwise, if I MUST eat a hard boiled egg, chopping it up and mixing in a little seasing/salad dressing helps.0 -
You can always buy them already cooked like I do; those are preatty good in my opinion:

YOU NEED TO MAKE MINI CRUSTLESS EGG QUICHE CUPS.
TAKE SOME EGGS OR EGG SUBSTITUTE, ADD TO A BOWL WITH CHOPPED VEGGIES AND/OR MEAT (I LIKE BELL PEPPERS, MUSHROOMS, SPINACH AND BACON OR HAM) AND SHREDDED CHEESE, MIX AND THEN POUR INTO MUFFIN TINS, BAKE AND ENJOY. THEY TASTE FINE RE-HEATED IN THE MICROWAVE.
Sorry for the caps. I just felt like this information needed to be yelled :indifferent:0 -

Real men don't eat quiche.
Which is a real shame because it is absolutely to die for. Mmm mmm mmmmm.0 -
i like boiled eggs with mustard on them - tastes like a deviled egg but no fat from the mayo0

I cook veggies and cool them. I beat eggs into them and bring it to work. I microwave in this:

But a greased mug works well. I think I got it at Target. Works very well. HTH.0 -

No, I guess if you are scrambling eggs or frying people use PAM or some other cooking spray...0 -
if you want high cholesterol, by all means add more eggs to your diet0
