if you are a fitness enthusiast and look like this

    fit_08.gif

    then you are not anorexic.

inbox messaging me hate mail does convey a serious mental instability though.

Women have curves. No curves is not normal.

if you are reading into anything else about my OP then you need to take a step back and ask yourself, "why"?

I am sorry if my english is offensive to you all. spanish is my first language.

Your posts being offensive have nothing to do with English not being your first language. You have expressed yourself very clearly. And those curves in those pics - it's muscle that they have worked very hard at getting i.e. it did not come naturally. Also, how is the lean fit person in you OP anorexic but you are saying the above women are ok? They probably have similar BF percentages.

I say again, get over yourself and I would suggest you seek help.

Just further proof that they will give ANYBODY a personal training certificate, regardless of actual knowledge level.

I find some of these reactions funny. If you are coming on here to defend not having boobs- or being over weight- Im going on the theory you are defending it because its what you are and you are proud of it? But lets be real- being flat chested has bothered you some time(s) in your life. Being over weight isnt fun either. You're bashing op for pointing out your flaws. She called no one by name but in 2 pages 10 ppl are saying "thanks for saying Im not normal".. wa wa wa... Um- she didnt call YOU out- YOU did.

Did you actually read the drivel in her post?

I am completely 'normal' according to the OP. I am not super lean, I have an *kitten*, I have boobs. So it has absolutely nothing to do with what you are accusing people of who are offended and everything to do with body shaming. Your psychoanalysis = fail. And how the eff is being flat chested a flaw - now you are body shaming which is rude and ignorant.

Haha- I was pointing out what I saw in the reactions- not what I really think of flat chested or over weight ppl. When a person projects their thoughts on to others' words its because THEY are the one with the image (or whatever subject) problem. I said "it must have bothered you" --NOT-- "it bothers me to look at " or some other version of shaming women. So nah- I was just pointing out that not only are some of you feeding the troll- you are feeding it with your own insecurities.
  • Jessica Simpson is a perfect example of this to me. I've never been attracted to her at all till she gained weight from being pregnant. Now she's gorgeous!

Yo tampoco, pero no es una buena razon para hablar asi. Obviously its your lack of proper knowledge. I was a former EDNOS victim that leaned towards anorexia and let me tell you that anorexia, bulimia or EDNOS has nothing to do with food intake but everything to do with mental and psychological status. And being a former victim, I know the struggles in overcoming this condition. And just by calling out these people as anorexics is just plain wrong.

It wasn't offensive to me, I can see what you were saying and I think you did it with the best of intentions. You were encouraging women to be healthy women rather than starve or eat themselves into something unhealthy and 'abnormal'...I totally get it

I think there are alot of hyper sensitive people in here who aren't quite happy with themselves and you've obviously touched a nerve with them.

The fact that people are actually sending you hate mail I find ridiculous and slightly disturbing and in my opinion, it says alot more about them than it does about you. You didn't say anything that warranted such a stupid and hateful response

Enough of the dramatic posturing. It is uncomfortable to look at and sad to see - but making you want to throw up? Give me a break.

Ummm....no, that is not always the case. Women have differing degrees of curves--some are a lot more curvaceous than others and it's due to genetic makeup, diet and level of exercise.

This sounds as if you are saying that those of us who are not curvy are not 'real women', and that's why so many people are objecting to your post..it's seriously offensive to those of us who don't have a lot of curves and are perfectly healthy.

    Hey, guess what everyone?

You are all normal. Some people find your body attractive. Some people don't.

Some of you have no boobs, big boobs, uneven boobs or fake boobs

Some of you have long legs, short legs, hairy legs, tattooed legs, maybe even missing one, or both

As long as you are doing what is best for your body, or TRYING to- nobody has the right to decide if its normal, or healthy.

This is a losing fight especially with women. as evidenced by so many people offended.

No one is offended, they're just a bunch of whinny little ________, that's all.

    Good post OP

Nice Pu....very nice! And you really have no issue with some of the things the OP said.....you know even less than I originally thought.

Perhaps if the OP used the word "healthy" in lieu of "normal" whatever point she was making would have been clear. I agree that anorexia isn't healthy and someone who is extremely obese isn't healthy either however there is a wide range in between that is healthy. And I am sorry but not every woman out there has curves. I know some women who have no hips and if it weren't for their boobs they would look like a boy. I have hips but I am by no means curvy so does that make me not "normal"? No. It makes me who I am and I am pretty damn proud of my body. I work hard to get the physique I have and if the fact that I am not curvy and it doesn't fit your little box for perfect doesn't bother me in the least.

    I'm a b!tch, but not a whiny little one...

She's body-shaming, which a bunch of women on MFP have been trying to eliminate from the site for damn long time. (Don't let my join-date fool you.) Saying that women that don't have curves aren't "normal" is rude and ignorant. I know plenty of women, my sister-in-law included, that due to genetics, aren't overly blessed in the boobs and butt category. My SIL is in great shape, eats, drinks beer, and works out--but not to excess. Despite all of that, she has little cleavage and her butt is flat. *shrug* She's still "normal" and still a woman.

For the OP to come on here and spout her nonsense, and then claim that it's because of her language...I call shenanigans.

Pu--you have made it abundantly clear on MFP that you can't STAND people who struggle with ED, so it's not surprising that you come on here, calling everyone who disagreed with the OP a b!tch. However, no one here is defending ED as a healthy way of life--they're merely disgusted with a so-called "expert" telling them that their natural body-shape is somehow an affront to the world.

Haha I'm not offended either. What I'm just pointing out is her lack of knowledge of the term anorexia and how come she classified that fit, muscular woman as anorexic. I do understand that she's trying to encourage women not to starve themselves and not to be pressured by what they see on TV, movies and glossy magazines however its questionable that she's pointing out that fitness model as anorexic. I don't even know how did she came up with the conclusion that woman is 'anorexic' or has EDNOS unless that woman is her client.

What a great response. :) Your wife is blessed, as I am, with a great husband.
    Merry Christmas!
  • Who is this model? Alice in Wonderland? Her legs are 89% longer than a girl with the same waist to hip length or have her legs been digitally stretched by 89%?
some women naturally have shorter waists which means they have long legs usually. for instance i'm 65" total and 40" of that is from the top of my hip to the bottom of my feet. my legs are longer even than some women who are 4" taller than me.

Me too, at 5'4" I am all legs and have to buy long inseams even though I am technically 'petite'. Sad part of all legs, is when you are as overweight as I was, my torso looked hella-fat.

I get where the OP was going though.

From a man's perspective who totally loves his wife of 33+ years...the body we live in will eventually fade. No doubt at 58, she is incredible looking. However, it is her soul, her mind, her humor, her smile, and her heart that "turn me on". But far more than TnA, which she is blessed with, it is the deepest of love that goes far beyond just mere skin.

There is a person inside each of those pics...I'd rather get to know that person than goo over external appearances. But, I am 54 years old and yes, my wife was once a model...I fell in love with her, not her body...that was just icing on the cake.

I'd offer this...get heathy, stay healthy body, soul, and spirit. You will have a far better life.

    From the "Old Guy" dept..

What a great reply. Your wife is blessed!

    Good post OP

Nice Pu....very nice! And you really have no issue with some of the things the OP said.....you know even less than I originally thought.

I went back to see what the problem was, I just skimmed through it. I see the problem now, The thing about the thigh gap, and the girl in the bikini being called anorexic. That's the only problem I see. The intentions where well placed.

I also want to state, a true anorexic or someone with a true ED. won't be boasting about it on their MFP wall. A lot of emo kids out there trying to do something they think is cool. I am saying because in the OP she mentioned along the lines of "choosing" to have an ED. Then all the people with wannabe ED's jumped in saying it's not a choice. That's real irony right there.

So, you went back and read the post after already calling everyone whiny b!tches and *kitten*?

What has your comment got to do with anything the OP posted? Or the subsequent comments. You really do not get it do you? If those are the only things you saw well, your head may be somewhere where it is hard to see clearly.

But it was more than the thigh gap...she said that women needs boobs and butts to be women. That's just not feasible given some women's genetics. That's what got most women riled up.

You don't think it's rude that someone makes a post, and everyone finds SOME reason to complain about it? Doesn't matter what the post is?

it's rude, it's dumb, it's stupid, and doesn't contribute to anyone on MFP.

Do not generalize. The reason why people found a problem with it is because it was factually incorrect and body shaming. So, you being you, go and call everyone whiney b!tches and *kitten*.
