Whey protein is making you fat

If you've been paying attention to such luminaries as Taubes, Sission et al, you'd know that insulin is what has caused the obesity epidemic. With that in mind it's be best to avoid whey protein due to the insulin spikes, as it's seemingly worse than glucose or white bread. Maybe this is why milk is so fattening, due to it's whey content?
The insulinogenic effect of whey protein is partially mediated by a direct effect of amino acids and GIP on β-cells

I think they were referring to the fact that full fat dairy is significantly higher in calories than skim because fat is more calorically dense. The fact that skim milk has no taste is another matter, though. :smokin:0 -
what happens if you mix your whey protein with milk? Diabetic coma!0

I'm going to assume since you have some friends on MFP who aren't retarded that you're kidding.0

Rarely see a 'fat' bodybuilder or fitness model. No food will make you fat, the level of consumption that determines that. An insulin spike is useful for certain parts of the day, especially post workout when whey is typically consumed0
