ALL THE COOKED FOODS ARE BAD FOR YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Eat raw vegan or be doomed to a life of illness!!!!!

I can go raw as long as I can still have some of my raw meats too. Would that be acceptable?

No. RAW VEGAN or illness!!!!!! All the foods are bad for you unless you could find it in nature and consume it while crawling around on all fours naked in a rainforest.

    The end.

What about raw bugs? I can do that crawling around on all fours naked in a rainforest.

that's how you get your b12. You can't wash your greens. eat only organic. Just close your eyes and chew.

I'll be passing on any mushrooms then for sure!

I'll pass. I like eating meat. Anything with a face tastes great! If our bodies were made to only eat vegetables we would have all molar teeth past the front four (two bottom, & two top). Look at the teeth of mammals such as dolphins vs. horses/cows. Dolphins have all pointy sharp "canine" teeth. Hence their diet is nearly 100% other animals. Horses and cows have all molars except for their very front teeth which are used to cut the plant from it's stem and bring it in the back of their mouth to be chewed by their molars. That's how our teeth would be modeled if we were meant to eat only plants.

    Back to topic....

Your body needs an insulin spike to help shuttle nutrients into the bodily systems like the muscular system. So post workout, whey protein is perfect for you. Spikes insulin and helps get the protein itself digested and brought into the muscles.
"Science" may say one thing, but science is theories, it doesn't apply these theories in a real life scenario. It's the practical application of science that matters.

ahhh, the teeth argument. No we don't look like horses. We also don't look like wolves.

Ever try to take a bite out of a cow's bum with your bare teeth? you won't get far.

    Try again.

Processed foods are death in a package, avoid them

Interesting observation. I guess that entire package of SF/FF Cheesecake pudding mix and 1300 calories worth of General Mills Peanut Butter Toast Crunch in your diary don't count as processed foods???

Just about anything, in moderation, is OK. Why be so judgmental?

    Simplifies things and rarely disappoints.

To be fair, if you're not familiar with the OP and his opinions, it might be easy to mistake for not trolling.

I love it when people confuse hemp with cannabis. It's always good for a laugh. That's ok, I didn't know what inverse insulin response meant. :smokin:
...then again, maybe it was just a way to work a funny picture into an already funny thread.

Hey, whatever gets me to LOL is good with me! I am stuck at my job with no work to do. :drinker:

If it is a ferry tale I wonder how I lost 82 pounds while using protien powder and eatting less calories than I burn,,mmm ,, must be a magic trick .

Not magic or even wizardry, it has a perfectly logical explanation, you were using counterfeit whey or possibly casein

Hemp. Hemp protein may actually cause an inverse insulin response.
But then this happens with hemp:

It's usually done strictly for the lulz

That's cause I made it up.

And I thought maybe that I learned something today!

Haha you're right, we don't look like wolves... we are a cross between wolves and horses... hence why we eat both MEAT and PLANTS. Omnivore? Bueller?

Ever try to take a bite out of a raw potato? It'd be pretty hard to do so as well.
And I didn't say we were supposed to run down and lock our jaws onto a cow's bum... it's too big to get our mouths on it. Even wolves have trouble doing that!!! haha I could take a chunk out of a smaller animal though like a rabbit or a salmon. So uh nice try yourself. Next...

Surely milk is fattening due to its fat content?

    Skimmed milk isn't fattening.

FAT isn't what makes people FAT.

How many times are we going to have to say this.... ::Face palm::

I hope you were being sarcastic.

ETA: WTF is the deal with this post? I hope the whole thing is a joke cause if not this is just.... incorrect. That's the nicest word I can think of right now.

I think they were referring to the fact that full fat dairy is significantly higher in calories than skim because fat is more calorically dense. The fact that skim milk has no taste is another matter, though. :smokin:

And then they add vitamins A and D to skim milk - but the body needs fat to absorb these vitamins (also E, and K and K2) so putting them in skim milk is pointless. But of course there's always the fat supplements they tell us to take. "Don't eat fat in food. It's bad for you. Here, take this pill with fake fat and other "stuff". That's good for you." (eye roll)

Now Unflavored Whey Protein. This stuff doesn't mess me up like the "other ones". And I don't do commercial dairy other then organic heavy whipping cream and occasionally organic half n half. It messes up my sinuses and ears and makes my ache and will make my weight go up. BUT - my body LOVES the local dairy from pastured cattle. I enjoy cheese, heavy cream, full fat sour cream, real pastured butter all from local dairies. If I could get my hands on some raw milk - now that is something I would love to try!

    Frugivore.
And I don't eat potatoes raw. I eat jicamas. Just because you can eat it cooked doesn't mean it's a proper part of a raw diet.

I'd say that the fact that our stomach acid breaks down meat so easily (cooking is like pre-digesting it and our tummy breaks it down even easier) says a lot. What makes it to our colon? Not meat, not fat. (well fat can but only if you are dealing with fat malabsorption - which is common following the SAD). Beans, grains, and vegetables. (Gnolls.org: "Does Meat Rot In Your Colon?" - there's nice link to a guy who had an intestinal transplant. This guy spent a number of months getting to see the contents of his stomach empty into a bag.)

Old comment from a user on Mark's Daily Apple (Sisson) and I'm paraphrasing. "You can test the limits of human digestion with a simple experiment. Eat a steak with some corn and see what comes out the other end. It ain't the steak."

And, yes, a raw potato will make you sick. In fact, cooking vegetables also makes them easier to digest. It breaks down the plants cellular walls so we can access the nutrients. I can't digest raw vegetables (only raw greens like spinach and kale but I prefer these cooked in butter).

And Mark's Daily Apple (Primal Blueprint) isn't just about diet. It's a lifestyle. It's about dealing with stress, getting good sleep, playing, moving. I don't care how long I live as long as my quality of life doesn't go down as my age goes up. So far so good. I'm healthier at 42 than I have ever been in my entire like. So, I thank Mark Sisson.

Homo sapiens has what you might call 'generalist' dentition, meaning we have a mix of kinds of teeth - its one of the explanatins for us being one of the most sucessful species on the planet. We are the ultimate generalist, can survive on vegetarian diets, can survive on diets almost devoid of them (vegetables).

WE can eat raw meat, its just that cooking kills some germs, which aids in the not dying of food poisoning thing.

Massive calorie surpluses makes us fat.

I am always amazed that people will eat a 1000 cal breakfast, 2000 cal lunch, 1500 cal dinner, and 1000 cals in snacks in between and then decided it is that ONE meal item (bread, whey, gluten, etc.) that has caused their weight problems.

Indeed - 'highly evolved' species tend to be the first to die out when change in environment occurs.

you guys, just FYI, I'm totally f*cking with you.

I'm eating an egg sandwhich as I troll the troll post.

My ultimate point, other than getting a few kicks, is there is no point demonizing any type of food or else you can go to extremes and demonize even potatoes.

IRL, all f*cking around aside, I am a vegetarian. But it's not for reasons having anything to do with my teeth.

IRL i also was in a relationship with a raw foodist. You can imagine how much fun that was! LOL!
