is getting implants worth it?

wow i didn't expect such a big discussion :O thank you for your support!
personally, i've been insecure about my chest since my early teens. i don't think they would grow any more because i was an early bloomer and i don't want kids. the prices of surgeries seem super high to be honest ugh and i don't like the idea of changing my implants every 5 or 10 years. do you think there are any hormones i can take so they grow bigger? not super big, just a fair bit bigger, like after a pregnancy.
also, i love padded bras, but then, they create some illusion of bigger breasts and if i got intimate with someone, i'm afraid that they would find my chest not arousing at all and a complete turn off.
Honey, this sounds like you might want to work on loving you and on making sure that anyone that you are with likes you for you. My wife loves me fat, skinny, with large breasts or small ones. You deserve to feel loved exactly how you are. You don't need fixing. I mean this in a loving way, and I hope that's how this came across.0 -
If you get implants, you will need 8 different views when you get a mammogram instead of 4 and there will still be breast tissue behind the implant that cannot be x-rayed. Granted, it's a long time before you will be old enough to need even a baseline mammogram, much less yearly ones and technology may improve, but breast health and cancer screening should be considered and I never hear that mentioned as a health risk. I didn't even know it was an issue until my last mammogram when I finally asked the radiology tech why they asked me whether or not I had implants when they scheduled my appointment.
When I met with my surgeon he explained to me that it can be harder to detect breast cancer but I personally haven't heard of a case where somebody had breast cancer and it wasn't detected because if implants. With my implants I have to do a survey/study every year.0 -
The short simple answer: YES. If you are doing this for YOU then do it tomorrow. If you are doing this for a man or men, skip it and get comfortable with you FIRST and then see how you feel about implants. Good luck0

You can have some of mine!!!! LOL0
-
if you want them get them. If you think you'll look better or have more confidence, why not? I want a boob lift. go for it0
-
No. You don't need large breasts to be either feminine or attractive.0
-
I guess what really matters is how you feel about yourself. If you really feel that self consious, I guess do it. I For Sure wouldn't do it for anyone BUT yourself.0
-
My best advice to you is wait 10 years. Your ideal body and what is sexy and attractive to you NOW will most likely seem vulgar and trampish to a more mature, womanly version of yourself. I'm not calling anybody in particular trampish, I'm speaking from experience and am SO glad I didn't have the means to alter my body to what I thought I wanted 10 years ago. I'd look like a flipping train wreck.
I'm all for a person getting surgery if it really and truly makes them feel better about themselves, but you are really REALLY young. It would be best to wait until you emotionally mature before you decide how and to what extent you want to permanently alter your body.0 -
I don't think they're necessary, whoever you find as your soul mate will love you regardless of your boob size. Mine are 32B too and I love them I get to wear the bandeaus and fashionable tops that are only made for small chested ladies. Plus I think that implants are just so permanent.. like if you change your mind you're stuck..
But ultimately its up to you. Do what feels right in your gut.0 -
I haven't read all the responses, but I read your initial post.
here's my two cents...
first, if you want them for YOU... then that's one thing... do NOT do it for anyone else, period.
secondly... if you get them done right, then no one will ever know the difference.
but do a LOT of research, and I mean be completely thorough.
I spent years researching, finding the right doctor, and the right "type"
I went from a 34AA to a 34C/D to a 34DD. I couldn't be happier. and no one knows they are fake, unless I tell them. I've had mine since 2005 and they look great.
but do realize, this isn't a FOREVER one time thing. down the line, it will require maintenance. lol. just sayin.0 -

People are only trying to be supportive, but don't do it. You're new size is plenty wonderful.
Those men who need something bigger to play with?...they're buying time because the downstairs unit failed after the 1rst minute or doesn't work as well - LOL.
Now if you're making money with them?...I guess your customers will be old dudes or guys who have money and need to keep up with their player image (see second mini-paragraph). Go for broke and get paid! :drinker:0 -

I'm unsure as to what's going on in this post, except to say I'm pretty sure you just paralleled women who get breast implants with prostitutes.
That would be a fail. And a most dissapointing one, at that.0 -
I went from a 36c to a 34 a at my goal weight. I hated my breast so I went and bought some with my tax return. I went with saline because of my research. I liked that they were more natural looking and after feeling some of my friends who had silicone, memory gel, and saline I thought the saline felt more real. So I spent the best 4700$ on saline implant under the muscle that took me from an a to a large c small d. It fits my body size and people who don't know me swear they are real. It has boosted my confidence as well as never interferes with my workouts0

At 18 I wanted to be a 34D (I was a 34AA).....and I waited until I was 40 to do it!!!! What a waste of years, feeling bad about myself and choosing wrong situations to be in just to see if I was worthy......
It is not dangerous - just go to a board certified plastic surgeon...preferably one that does reconstructive surgery. Research first and really look hard before choosing. Don't go with the ones who advertise the most on bill boards and do your homework!
Good luck!0 -
I went from a 40DDD to a 36D and, by the time I get to my GW, will likely fit into a full C... Like you, I find this to be very depressing because I've had large breasts for more than half my life. I have seriously been considering implants for a long time but don't know if I'll ever take the plunge. I guess I'd be more inclined to get them if my boyfriend was on board with the idea but he says he's happy with the way I look - so, I guess I should be, too?0

Its true if u r planning for implant than do it for yourself not for guys....SO better than going for implant u can go with some breast enhancement pills that works effectively..they are not so costly as the breast implants costs....it contains all herbal ingredients so need not to worry about side-effects...

Really?! Wonderful in who's opinion? I think self image is more important than someone elses. What if you are doing it for purely self esteem reasons to feel better about yourself and make you more symmetrical? Who are you to compare women who get them with prostitutes?? I got implants for purely self esteem and personal reasons that had nothing to do with men because I like men but I don't give a rats patootie about what they want in that area...They are usually just happy enough to be in a room with a naked women.0 -
I say go for it. I know I'll be getting my breasts done as soon as I'm where I want to be body wise.0
-
I've definitely thought about it since I'm only an A cup... but I'm terrified of surgery, not to mention the cost... and you know what? I don't think I'd really be doing it for myself. In the end, I want to find a man who loves me for me, and that's where I can gain comfort and confidence.
I would love to have your size instead of my A, but it's up to what makes you happy. Just be sure you're doing it for the right reasons.0 -
smh why get surgery to make someone else happy??? there are plenty of men who like itty bitty titties!0
-
Honestly, I think 34 D is a terrible size. D anything would be terrible for me, I've been there, and its hard to get the cute bras. I'm a C now, but wouldn't mind being a B. My hubby doesn't care what size they are as long as they are his!0

Go on realself.com and see what the women say who had their implants taken out, and see if any of their stories ring true for you. It really isn't for everybody, although some women like it. Also, you will look heavier, don't forget that. Clothes will be harder, and they are considered 10 year devices. That's a lot of surgeries over your lifetime.0
-
Keep in mind that if you are a 32D or 34D that T-shirts will not fit proportionally anymore - they'll be super tight or won't fit right and you may have to say goodbye to some styles.0
-
If you want them, don't be afraid to get them. I have seen many girls that it did wonders for, not the actual boob job, but the confidence that came with it.0
-
I would definately do what makes you happy and confident. But take a second to hear how it was on the other side for a moment.
I've always been a 34D. I'm only 5'1", and I always hated it, I felt I looked fat even when I was only 106lbs because they were huge! Then I had babies and breast fed for 4 years straight. They went up to a 36H...yeah, I said it. FREAKING H!!! They were grotesque...I don't care what anyone said about them, to me they looked grotesque. Post breastfeeding I lost my weight and was back down to 135lbs. And guess what! They were still 36H!!! So in 2009 I had a breast reduction. Surprisingly, all my backaches disappeared...the furrows in my shoulders where my bra straps were disappeared. I told my surgeon he could take them all, I'd be happy being flat chested. And I would have been!...he couldn't do that safely, because this was a reduction, not a radical mastectomy. Post surgery they settled into a 34D or 34DD. Basically back to where I started. And I've learned to live with them happily.
I do not regret for a second my surgery. And ultimately THAT is the point of my story. The other point is...the grass is always greener...we want what we don't have. I'm short and I'll never look willowy...I'll never be tall, slender and blonde...lol. But I do love my body (most of the time) and the man who loves me likes it just he way it is....now of course he wishes he had been able to see and play with the H's but I'm pretty sure even he, a self avowed breast man, wouldn't have liked them much.0 -

Regular boob sized people don't get the furrows on their shoulders form bra straps?? *mind BLOWN*
Thanks for sharing this, reduction surgery is something I consider from time to time (I am 5 3 and a 32F), and your story is a great one to hear :flowerforyou:0 -
Why don't people understand bra sizes? I'm sorry, I work as a bra fit specialist and it bugs me lol. If you're a 34 you're going to stay a 34 regardless of if you get implants or not. The number refers to how big you are around UNDER your breasts. The cup size is the size of your actual breasts.
On top of that, where are you guys shopping that you can't find cute bras in size 34D? lol I've worked with bras for 5 years and that's a VERY common size. I was a 34D at one point and I had no problem finding bras. I could see it being harder when you get to a 32 BUT I work at Soma intimates and they have tons of cute stuff in sizes like that.
Sorry, just had to point that out. lol
Also, just for the record, when I was bigger I used to wear a 38DD and now that I'm in a C cup I miss them dearly!!! I don't know what you people are talking about saying that big boobs are a hassle. I loved mine!! lol0 -
I wouldnt go as big as D implants. Sounds like you have a small frame think proportional no more than a small C. If they make you happy go for it.0
