Yeppers! 271 of morbid, sedentary, frumpy-ness to 145ish of normal, active & fit, yummy-ness! ALL by keeping a paper calorie journal, tweaking my diet to include lots of healthy and much less junk and moving!0

This thread is so inspiring! Well done everyone Hopefully I'll be back here in the future saying I've lost 112lb!0

131 lbs without any surgery. Slow and steady so I don't even have any excess skin. Have another 25-30 lbs to go. I will be doing the whole photos thing at some point, but I pretty much made sure I was never photographed back in the 340 lb days. I did look at my driver's license today though and was shocked how different my face is.
It's an amazing journey and anyone can do it, no matter where they start or what difficulties you have. You just need desire, faith, education and patience.0 -
Wow, you are all very inspiring! Thank you for sharing. I have a goal of 200 pounds, but that may change, I've been heavy so long I have know idea what I should weigh. No worries , though. I'm not going to give up this time.0

I have I have lost 140 on WW. It takes determination , and patience. We live in a society where we want instant gratification. Slowly but surely will always will the race0

See my ticker below.
Almost eleven months in to logging on MFP. 61 years old. No surgery, no pills, nothing except counting calories, and determination.
Calories in vs calories out, simple but it works and can be done.
Plenty of people here have done this, but a lot of people do it with surgery as well.
You have to do what is right for you.
Best of luck.0 -
I am so happy you started this thread -- and even happier to see so many wonderful stories of people doing this the old fashioned way -- through just plain diet and exercise. I am determined to do this without any supplements, surgeries, bizarre food combinations, shakes, etc -- I am prepared for it to take as long as it needs to -- there are no quick fixes -- at least not ones that are healthy and permanent.
Keep the amazing and motivational stories coming -- they are very meaningful to folks like me who want to do this (in my opinion) the right way.0 -
Great thread! Thanks so much to everyone who shared their story! You are all an inspiration. The lessons I am taking away...persist, don't expect perfection, keep logging and moving. Thank you!0

Now this is some true dedication way to go everyone. I'm on my way 29 down 71 to go.0

Thank you to those that posted their success stories, for showing it can be done. Marking this off to return to when I need a swift dose of stick-to-it-iv-ness and motivation on my journey, especially when I hit my first plateau. One day I hope to add my success story. You are ALL an inspiration.0
