I dont have a name but on the top of my back I have the first initials of my two kids and husband hidden in a swirly pattern. Tattooist did a great job, I have to point them out to people so its not too cheesey :laugh:0

I have my sons photo tattooed on me..as much as I love my husband, I'd never have his name tattooed on me.0

I do my partners name is tattoos at the very top of my thighs knows its there but it would only ever be seen if I was wearing a bikini n it's small enough to cover0

The only names you can "safely" have as tattoos are your parents' or your children's.
My bass teacher had his wife's name tattooed around his ring finger instead of a wedding ring. Makes starting over after the divorce kind of awkward.0 -
I have a couple tattoos, but I would never get a significant other's name tattooed on me. Perhaps matching or similar tattoos, but never names. I don't know... it just seems like the kiss of death in regards to the relationship to me.
To each his/her own though...0 -
One of the guys I've seen at the tattoo shop I go to has about 8 names on his left arm, each one has a strike line through them haha0
-
I would do it. I don't really believe in bad luck or in jinxing things. That's silliness.0

Lasering hurts/costs more so think about that0 -

No, never.. The closest I'll come is what I have: I have my 2 daughters' infant footprints on my back and their name is above each set. The names are in my wife's handwriting.0

I have a tattoo that says "mom". She's the only person I will ever live or trust enough to have ink done for.0

My husband has my name on his arm.0

I've not got a tattoo of my partners name but we do talk about it :-) it's just like getting a family members name on your body, it's no different.. The only time i have a problem with people getting their boyfriends/girlfriends name tattooed on them, is when they have a relationship like the people on Jeremy Kyle hahahaha
But if they seem genuinely in love & like tattoo's, then why not? I would get my boyfriends name tattooed on me, somewhere private that's not always on show :-)0 -

That's exactly how I feel. And that's why I got my husbands name on me in a private place that can be shown only if I choose for it to be.0 -
No....I would never get anyones name tattooed on me...ink is forever...Humans...are not0

I do not have his name but we are getting tattoos that when standing next to each other chest to chest the design is complete and when apart we each have half of the design. Thought of getting his name but decided I liked this one. But I do not see the big deal of getting a spouse's name on their body. Everyone acts like it is this big erasable step if you later regret it, but what about these same ppl having babies together. Sorry think that is a bigger step than a tattoo, cannot remove a child later if you break up and ppl don't seem to mind having babies with multiple different ppl and not being married or even in relationships sometimes. So you all need to chill out!0

Does anyone have their significant others name tattooed on them? If so, where?

Your tattoo's really pretty, i want one now hehe I'd love to surprise my boyfriend with a tattoo of his name somewhere !!0 -
Why does everyone think about "if we break up" or " if I need to get it covered up"
Why not enjoy the tattoo for now? Why are so many people on here pessimists? Geeze
Btw, curses aren't real. Especially because of a tattoo. So stupid
Getting a tattoo to enjoy "for now" is the dumbest thing i ever heard. But so typical.0 -

I just meant, why does everyone think of the "what ifs"
Why not just think about what you have now and enjoy it. I personally don't think about anything bad happening in my relationship, therefore I enjoy the "now"0 -

Of course not, no one wants to think about that while in a commited relationship. But chances are good you won't be with the same person for the rest of your life (maybe you will, who knows) and i doubt your new SO will be happy with some other dude's name tattooed on you.0 -
I personally don't, but my friend and his wife did each others in place of wedding bands. I thought that was a cute idea.
ETA: I do have my kids names on my ribs in a heart.0 -
No. I would not.
And OP. You asked for peoples' opinions, but get offeneded when they think it's a curse. Next time don't ask if you don't want to know what other people think. Just saying.0 -
Personally, I wouldn't want my hubby's entire name tattooed on me... but that's just a personal style choice. His initials, maybe. Done in a pretty cursive font so that it looked more like a symbol than initials.
My brother has his wife's name tattooed on him in at least 3 different VISIBLE places (he has a LOT of tattoos). His wife also has his name tattooed on her. I actually asked him after he got his first tat with her name if he thought it was a good idea, and he responded "Why? Because someday in the future we might get a divorce? That's stupid. I don't live my life planning around the thought that the woman I'm madly in love with may leave, or that I would leave her. I plan to live my life as if we'll be together forever. To think about the possibility of divorce in the future is more of a bad omen for our relationship than a tattoo could ever be. If I'm expecting a divorce, than I'll always be kind of guarded around her, and I don't want to live like that."
His answer was good enough for me.0 -
