Falling... It's not really heights, because if I'm strapped in and feel secure I'm okay. But if you walk by me and tilt my chair back, that feeling of falling and bouncing in my seat will send me into a fit of hysterics and tears. I can't ride straight up and down coasters. Last "Fear Immersion" test had the medics at Cedar Point prying me out of the seat... I was latched on for dear life, sobbing, and not blinking... Frightening beyond belief. I can't look up at great heights without getting sick. I can't even watch videos of people "falling" over the edge of something... It's gotten a little better over the years with videos.
Another phobia I'm learning to do better with is spiders. Oh God, I hate all spiders except the fuzzy jumping spiders. I don't know why I like the jumping spiders. It's something about the way they study us and hang back. Almost a funny, inquisitive face. IDK, I'm an oddball.0 -
There isn't an animal, reptile, insect, or other creature that scares me - unless it surprises me, jumps out of the dark, etc. However, what does scare me... Ever since I watched an episode of a crime show in which one murder was discovered because someone turned on their shower and blood came out, I CANNOT get in the shower without letting it run for a few minutes first. As soon as I'm satisfied that only water is coming out, I'm fine. Not like I'm scared of blood, per se, as I think anatomy is fascinating and have no problem with blood and guts...just can't stand the thought of blood coming out of my shower.0

heights unless im strapped into a roller coaster then i go wild!!
Oh! I hate the big dip. I feel like I'm falling :sad:0 -
The sound of velcro... and clowns.
What is it about clowns?
They're kind of creepy, hey?0 -
I have emetophobia - an extreme, irrational fear of vomit and vomiting.0
-
Stairs. I can barely get down two of them, which makes leaving my house hard. I'm also constantly panicking about aliens (the outer space kind).0
-
Leftovers! I hate leftovers. I do not hold any leftovers in my fridge my husband hates it. If there is extra pizza it goes to the garbage. Leftover lasagna...garbage. Anything that has been cooked will not be stored in the fridge. I hate the smells it can give off. I imagine bacteria growing on it. Or reheating it....gross! When my family at leftovers when I was a child never ate. That was cereal night for me, lol. I also get creeped out with other peoples' fridges. I freak out if I see a tomato just sitting on the shelf, like the skin is touch the fridge...and then you eat the skin?! Noway!0

I have stacks of phobias that are common boring 1's - like snakes, heights, small spaces, driving behind a truck with logs on it (Final Destination can be thanked for that)...0
-
bridges and dams, spiders, mushrooms, lighting gas grills, flying, and opening champagne0
-
I hate looking at someone (or myself in the mirror) with sunglasses on and seeing their eyeball through the glasses. Freaks my freak.
Oh and MOTHS- I am deathly afraid of moths getting anywhere near me.
Omg this is funny! I just picture it....lol thats hilarious. Don't mean to be mean. I just think its crazy how everyone has such different things they freak out over.0 -
There's lots of things I avoid/dislike, but my only TRUE phobia is Butterflys/moths.
It's the fluttering and jagged movements, I just can't deal with it. The idea of going into a butterfly house makes my stomach churn. A moth was trapped in my cabin on a boat once and we couldn't get it out - I refused to sleep until it was captured at like 3am, and was nearly in tears.0 -

Btw this was a great topic. It really makes you feel normal. Like everyone has something that they are a little irrationally scared of.0

Touching ice cubes, eek!0

Circles in repetitive form. Mostly on skin or plants. I heard it was an actual phobia. Trypophobia.
I get really tense looking at pictures, and want to scratch my eyes out! I don't feel afraid although I will run the other way if I see a picture of trypophobia0 -
Lightning. I'm a cowering mess when it storms. Can't wait to move to somewhere it hardly ever does!
This is me 1000000% Can't stand them. I try so hard to maintain myself so my kids don't get scared too but when things get real bad the nervous vibes radiate off me. I have left work early because I knew a bad storm was coming.0 -
I am 22 years old and STILL scared of the dark.
Also mirrors in general, at night I turn them around and if I can't(I have a huge dresser with a mirror attached) I have to cover my head or move the blankets to a point where I can't see it.
Grasshoppers an June Bugs too. I had both caught in my hair as a kid and I freaked out! If I see any I run!0 -
so basically if there were a clown chasing us while throwing up maggots with a the body of a snake and ready to pop a balloon while putting mustard on a hotdog while wearing glasses, we all would pretty much be a puddle of piss and a bubble of snot?0
-
Frogs! My heart pumps so hard at the site of a frog I get nausea if it moves I'm crying, dear husband depose of these things for my while the kids torture me with them.0
-
spray bottles. my mother used to wake me up with them in the morning because i literally have slept through hurricanes and crazy ****. spray bottle to the face = kryptonite. Any time i hear a spray bottle, i jump.0

Baths! Hot Tubs, touching the bottom of a pool! I'm fine in rivers and oceans and lakes, go figure!0
-
I will not swim in anything where I can't see straight to the bottom and everything that is in the water. Meaning no lakes, rivers, oceans, ponds etc. Unless its a swimming pool you won't get me in it. I'm scared to death of something coming after me and not seeing it, getting tangled up in seaweed and drowning, basically anything icky sticky or with teeth in that water could possibly get me. So no thank you!! I can't believe anyone would water ski or jet ski etc. What if a shark comes up and gets them? It happens! Don't tell me it can't. I saw jaws!! OH and don't get me started on the possibility of a dead body being under water!! OMG I will not even reach into the water while in a boat! I'm not pulling up anything out of the water!!
Exactly this, but more because of dead bodies and less because of sharks. Where I live there have been a number of body-less feet wash ashore still in their shoes!! What if you were swimming along and there is a foot floating by your face. Disgusting. I'll stick with the pee in the pools.0 -
omg crankstr...what is that??? okay now I have two phobias...what ever the hell that is and bugs that jump...I can handle spiders, snakes, bees.....but grasshoppers and anything that can hop onto me when I am outside freaks me right out...its like they know0
-
heights definitely. I have fainted rock climbing (on ropes luckily) and had a breakdown last time we went bouldering. I had to jump down from a 5 foot ledge... yeah. it is bad0
-
Watching ships sink, or sunken ships. Makes me nauseous. I threw up watching Titanic and not for the usual reasons0
-
OMG Crnkstr that has got to be the most disgusting thing I have ever seen. I am literally nauseous. What the heck is that? But please do not pot that picture again.0
-
okok...here's a cute wittle frog...he wuvs getting scratched

spiders and open water (yeah, that one makes being a Tri athlete a little hard, but working on it LOL)0
