I'm not proud of this, but... Rush Limbaugh.0

I waved at Princess Diana as she rolled by in a procession in my hometown.
I watched as my classmates mobbed the stage at our school when Peter Andre performed.
And I hugged one of my favorite rappers, Spose, last year at Hell's Kitchen.0 -
I've been blessed to meet quite a few famous athletes, music artists and actors/actresses but think the most famous would be Will Smith. He was in town for his movie premier of "The Pursuit of Happyness" and we were covering the event.0

I worked for 3 years, and sat and had intelligent conversation at lunch countless times with the father of the frontman for a band called Godsmack....
I also went to high school with the (just for the commercial) balled guy in the newer pistachio commercial. He also got punked by J-lo and Ellen Degeneres on her show a while back when J-Lo posed as looking for a personal assistant. The video can be found on youtube. His name is Scott Ruggles. He's an awesome guy.0 -

I don't pay too much attention to celebrities. We've had two come into our store... both times I had NO IDEA.
BUT this one time one of the members of Glass Tiger came in. I was freaking out. Recognized HIM immediately. I was all: AAAHHHH! Flirted my butt of and when he left I was gushing to my coworkers and they were like: "Who?"
*glowers at coworkers*
They can recognize some contestant from some stupid reality show but they can't recognize a freaking Canadian musician. *shaking my head* So disappointing.
I LOVED Glass Tiger in the 80s!!
Just remembered that I met The Rembrandts, too.
And Seth MacFarlane bought my friend and me each a drink once.
(I used to live in Hollywood, BTW, so I've seen but not met countless other celebrities. My husband has also met Colin Farrell and has worked on numerous celebrity homes, including Barbra Streisand's)0 -
Elijah Wood.
My sister and some friends and I went to the Laugh Factory in Cali on the night of her bachelorette party, and made her wear a ridiculous outfit to get put in the front row so the comedians would tease her. (Which they did.) When it was over, we discovered Elijah Wood had been there when he came up and congratulated my sister on her upcoming wedding and gave us all hugs. Such a nice guy, and not at all short.0 -
David Hasselhoff - he gave the eulogy at a funeral I attended.0
-
Hmmm if going to high school with Taylor Hall (the NHL player) counts..0

Glass Tiger !!!!
The mere fact that they were in MY town says they've hit rock bottom but whatever. I still love them.0 -
I have never met anyone famous, because no one ever comes to my city except for concerts. (Justin Beiber came a while back and half the city shat bricks :noway:).
However, my uncle almost got shot down as a kid because he ran up to the queen of England and touched her.   :laugh:0 -
I havent met any super famous stars but I did run around with Jaret from Bowling For Soup, we lived in Denton TX together before he was famous. I also briefly dated a well known radio DJ from Dallas Tx ( I wont name him lol)
Russ Martin?
lol no, but it was the same radio station0 -
I used to work as a talk show host for a small market AM news/talk radio station and occaisonally did "celebrity" interviews. Singer Janis Ian, Eric Burdon of the Animals, Denny Hastert when he was Speaker of the House, author Arthur Golden, (Memoirs of a Geisha) and Food Network host, Sandra Lee.
I met Bob Schieffer at a party and was able to chat with him for quite a while about broadcast journalism. That was pretty cool.0 -
I spoke with the Dixie Chicks on the radio...........does that count?0
-
Kevin McCale former Boston Celtic also multiple Indiana Pacers players and Minnesota Timberwolves.
The choir I traveled with in college sang the National Anthem for a Pacers/Timberwolves game in '96.
ALSO long distance dated Ed Smith former Atlanta Falcon Tight End. He also played in the short lived ( one season) XFL0 -
Jim Brickman, just by chance. And as my favourite claim to fame, Obama "borrowed" my uncle's pen and never gave it back! That was years and years ago.0

I worked at a music store (Daddy's Junky Music for all you east coast people) so I got to meet a ton of musicians. Half the time you would not realize you were talking to anyone famous utill you rang them out and asked for their name...
I did get to meet and hang with Zack Wylde though (guitar player for Ozzy). He did a meet and greet at the store. The next day I get a call for the promotions manager. Apparently Zack had left his guitar at the store the night before and asked if I could brink it up to Ozzfest ASAP. I got backstage passes and got to hang on the tour bus. Even had a beer with Zack.
That;s about as cool as I got0 -
More infamous, then famous, but I knew Gerald Stano - a serial killer from Ormond Beach, Florida, when I was a teenager. I used to hitchhike "back in the day" and met him through a friend. He told me to call him anytime I needed a ride because hitchhiking was dangerous!! He literally gave me 100's of rides over the course of a year or two and he was never out of line with me! He killed 41 women and was executed many years ago.
Scary! He must have thought well of you to not be out of line with you! Which is a blessing!
Ive met Stephen King, and Zac and Taylor Hanson.0 -
Klinger from MASH at a fundraiser. Christie Brinkley at the movies in Telluride CO and she is even more beautiful in person if that is possible. Also the Beach Boys backstage at a concert in CA.0
-
Funny when I stop and think about it who else I've met.
Samuel L. Jackson on the street. Surrounded by bodyguards. He was very nice.
Randy 'Machoman' Savage, and Andre, the Giant, before their fame.
Jud Nelson just after The Breakfast Club was released. I had no clue who he was.
Saw John Carradine at a night club, I don't think he was aware that anyone else was there.0 -
Johnny Knoxville, Steve-O, and Wee Man at bar Orlando. It was right after the first episode of *kitten* aired. They walked up to me while I was standing in line for the bathroom. Steve-O pulled his pants down to show me his road rash, and I saw everything. I had no idea who they were, so I was a little weirded out lol
Jerry Springer at a parking garage in Sarasota, FL. He has a house on Longboat Key I believe.
And tons of punk bands.0 -
I've met Carlos Santana walking on the street in San Francisco. My husband played black jack at 2 in the morning with Tim McGraw in a small casino in Reno, NV before he was a huge star. DH said he was the most down to earth, quiet, nice guy. I hope he is still just as down to earth today as he was then!0

Keith Washington, formerly of the Baltimore Ravens, became my husband's fishing buddy after they met at a local mall. My husband is a Steelers fan, so their football conversations were quite interesting. He gave us tickets to the Ravens/Steelers games in Baltimore, which was nice.
I saw George Clinton one day at Union Station here in Washington, DC. I went to say hello and some dude bumrushed him so I just kept walking to my office. He wears that rainbow colored hair ALL THE TIME.
Them DeBarges. Most of them, anyway. The youngest sister moved down here along with her mama and we became friends. Then some of the brothers showed up and all of a sudden, I was back in my teenage years staring at album covers and posters and magazines...
ETA: I also met Washington Redskins HOF Darryl Green in middle school, many moons ago. He came to talk about something-or-other and my friends and I stayed after the assembly was over to talk to him. He had on a jacket with Coke logos and my friend asked if he knew New Edition because they were endorsing Coke too. It was kind of funny.
Oh! Also Gary Clark and Ricky Sanders of the Washington Redskins. Gary Clark let my put on his Superbowl XVII ring! I got so light-headed!0 -
I once met Bill Murray at a stoplight. He walked up to my car, licked my windshield, whispered "No one's gonna believe you," and walked away.
Well played, Bill Murray. Well played.
Does he really do that? I've heard stories of him doing random stuff like that but I always thought it was a hoax. He did it in the movie coffee and cigarettes.0 -
Several members of Aerosmith
Steven Tyler and Joe Perry. We lived in the same time and they sat next to me and my kids at the circus with their kids.
My kids had no idea who they were but I couldn't concentrate for the rest of the show.
And Brad Whitford was sitting on a little chair in the hall across from me as we waited for parent teacher conferences.0
