I did this cleanse about 3 years ago. I couldn't bear past 8 days though. I lost 15 pounds in a week, and it was the most miserable week in my life, all I could think about was food, food, and more food. I looked forward to going to sleep just to get past the hunger. You gotta have a lot of willpower. I would never do this cleanse again though/ nor recommend it to anyone, especially for weight loss goals, once I started eating, even healthy foods again, I gained all the weight back in a short amount of time. But good luck to you, you are brave.

Just preparing for my colonoscopy with one day prepping was enough for me. I even pooped myself with no effort lol. I would rather be in an induced coma than have 10 days of colon cleansing.

Just skipped nine pages after reading the first; I love detoxing, haven't done the master cleanse though, I'm not planning to either but only because I love how my usual detox works for me, and it's not too difficult to complete, I do all raw fruits and vegetables only for ten days instead and vegetable juice, twice a year and if I have a sniffly nose or anything that feels like I might be getting run down I do a quick two day one, I haven't had a sick day in three years since I started doing this. And if that's a placebo then WOW, I am amazing.

I don't care what any of the haters say, it is a bit extreme yes but I like the way it wipes any of my bad habits in my relationship with food clean. If I've been slipping up and eating unhealthy, I do a detox and eat simple, raw and unseasoned foods for a week or more, then when I up my regular foods again, my cravings for crisps or whatever unhealthy things I had been have always gone. I crave soups and salads instead. It reteaches you self discipline that you sometimes lose.

So best of luck m'lady and I hope it goes well, I'd love to know how it goes if you feel like adding me

All of the pop tart chat must have worked! Just saw the OP logged a pop tart and an ice cream bar for food today. Good work!

better pop tarts than a glass of lemon water and some laxative tea. Snark aside, I sincerely hope the OP (and anyone else) never tries this ridiculous tomfoolery.

Now really: what pop tart flavor do you think would go best with a fried egg and some hash browns?

Wouldn't savory pop tarts be awesome? LIke a plain crust with bacon and maple syrup innards!

Good comparison. Genetics will always play a role in your health and how you age, too. I am 54 (55 in a week) and I've never done a cleanse and eat more like Nigella. I don't eat from the fridge like she does though! LOL

    I rarely get sick too.

My immune system is quite awesome. No detox needed. I've never even had the flu (well maybe when I was a child, but children are just walking germs). Didn't start getting the flu vaccine until last year, but only because it's mandatory for us.

I just make sure I wash my hands a lot. Now that my friends, is the true master cleanse.

No brainer -- the maple sugar, bacon and Krispy Kreme one.

Not sure what kind of doctor would recommend this. Read this from WebMD

    Sounds dangerous.

If you put as much effort into diet and exercise, as you did in describing how and why this Master Cleanse will work for you and your goals for it, you probably wouldn't have to subject yourself to it's insidiousness in the first place. Either way - Good Luck.

I would recommend anyone stay away from laxative tea..my mother in law use to swear by it until it gave her really bad heart problems

I'm still stuck on why a person would discontinue breast-feeding a two month old baby when there are so many benefits for both mom and infant. Add to that the fact that breast-feeding mothers return to their pre-pregnancy weight much faster.

    ^^^ Judgey Mcjudgerson .... Jeesh . It's a personal choice

Just be careful, home made pop tarts may not have the tarty keytones required for a true cleanse and detoxification

Listen, as long as you both use free range pop tarts (including ingredients for homemade) you'll be ok. You just need to double the dose for the homemade to make sure you get the required tarty effect.
