Convince me Pop Tarts & ice cream are bad.

I'd comment, but I can't find it in me to get up in your business if you're happy with your life. Bet your toddler loves that stuff too.0

Pop tarts are bad because they taste horrible.
Ice cream I have no beef with.
I've never tried beef ice cream.
You're in luck.

Do they do mail order?0 -
If I could eat 4,000 calories a day I'd be having pop tarts and ice cream too. And lots of other "bad" things, too. As long as your nutritional values are being met, who cares?0

i stopped eating Pop Tarts & ice cream and lost ....please look below O_O0

A diet like yours in smaller amounts made me pre diabetic cause my body couldn't cope with all the sugar, so i'll stick with thinking they are bad. ;(
Plus sorbet and frozen yoghurt tastes nicer than ice cream
Poptarts don't do it for me, i don't get the fascination with them =/0 -
high sugar.... lots of it.0

Serving size of PopTart is half of one packet, so really you need to be doubling your stats on that. I was stupefied when I read the label!!0

Question: by what method have you determined a daily calorie goal of 4000kcal? I would say that a calorie intake of 4000 for you is a recipe for 1.5lbs/week or more of weight gain... was this a mistake?
The scale not moving at 4000 calories a day is my indicator.
as a petit woman, I am insanely jealous.0 -
I only have one question for you....
How did you come up with this measure?????

seriously - i would say i eat something 'unhealthy' everyday - if i didn't I would go insane
I have ice cream on the reg0 -

In the op he accounts for that saying he usually eats 2.0 -
i think it's perfect.
I agree! Eat on my friend! If you 'diet' you will never maintain your weight loss!0 -
I would agree you are wasting your calories on pop tarts. I would drop them completely from your diet and replace with more ice cream. If I wanted to eat poptarts I would take old dried out jelly and put it between two pieces of balsa wood0

OP has lost 1580 -
It's not a big deal if you are eating (and burning) 3000-4000 calories per day. People that are questioning your choices probably don't consider this. For many who are eating less than 2000 calories a day, 800 calories every day from pop tarts and ice cream is a problem. Don't ask me to defend that assertion. I am pretty sure we all recognize this to be common sense.
Couldn't really agree more.
As a woman who eats about 2000 cals a day (and I'm losing at that level, thank you!), I can manage about 200-300 calories in pop tarts and ice cream.
It's about having treats that are moderate for YOUR calorie level.0 -
high sugar.... lots of it.
Consumption of sucrose and high fructose corn syrup does not increase liver fat or ectopic fat deposition in muscles

Not sure what you're looking for here.
We're all grown ups here- and if I wanna eat pop tarts and ice cream every day for the rest of my life- it's my life. My body.
And I did. For years. It took several years to put on an excess of 60 some pounds and body fat.
A couple of pop tarts is OK for me. Some ice cream is OK for me.
But when my snacks like this add up to more than the nutritional food I've eaten, my HEALTH will pay a high price for the sugar overload>>which goes straight to my midsection.
If my breakfast, lunch and dinner added together equals 600 calories
and my empty calorie snacks equal 1400.... and I exercise....
doesn't mean the choices I'm making are the best ones from a health standpoint.
For me, that's the bottom line.
You're a big boy. Eat what you want. Just be sure to get your blood work done regularly- and I hope
all the numbers that count stay in a healthy range for you.0 -

Ice cream I have no beef with.
Kellog's are a bit iffy sometimes but Nature's Path are freaking outstanding!0 -
I'm just jealous that you have so many calories to spend. Go for it, I say0

I don't like beef with my ice cream either.0 -
All win. :laugh:0 -
just gonna sit back and watch this...0

OMG, who the hell cares! It's your life.
Personally I am more of a food snob when it comes to myself, but hey, you probably care as much about what I eat as I do about what you shovel in your poptart hole.0 -
They are bad because they lack bacon. DUH!
yeah this0 -

I also agree with this. I eat ice cream every night (well...probably not tonight thanks to Cheesecake Factory Oreo cheesecake I had at lunch...but most nights) but pop tarts don't do much for me- sorry. I can think of better ways to enjoy 200/400 left over calories.
I will admit I did try the pop-tart ice cream sandwich after your last thread and its pretty strong0 -

I just wanted to say, I like the way you think. But I did have the bacon sundae from Burger King a while back.0 -
Mind sharing your last BMP results?0
