Someone who whines about their job. If you don't like it, change it or just get on with it.At least you HAVE a job.
Drugs.
Arrogance.
Dirty fingernails- in fact bad general hygeine is a huge NO.
Ability to smile easily is a definite must.0 -
My deal breakers would be being full of hate towards another ethnicity or sexuality preference.
...And also men who aren't alright with me preferring to smoke weed over taking medications.
... And men who are horrible in the bedroom.0 -

Just putting it out there that it isn't always a person's fault and it doesn't make them a loser.0 -
You folks who are saying "No job" are being pretty harsh. The person might have no job through no fault of their own - laid off, company went under, etc.
On the other hand, "no desire to get a job" is definitely a valid deal breaker.0 -
No way:
- Arrogant / smug / condescending / annoyingly argumentative for the sake of it / black and white thinker / lack of social skills --> basically no engineers
- Addictions (sober 10+ years is ok, but if it's even a possibility now I can't deal, sorry)
- As someone else said, untreated mental health issues or hard-core personality disorders. Mild/occasional anxiety or depression is ok, that just means you think about stuff
- Cruelty
- Stupidity
- Being dismissive/remote, or, too clingy (should be able to play/work both alone and with others)
- Regressive politics
- Religious (spiritual, eh, maybe; probably not)
- Not pulling weight at home
- Sense of entitlement
Essential:
- Emotionally secure
- Insightful
- Kind
- Witty (this is a twofer, implies a certain kind of intelligence)
- Must do exactly half of the domestic stuff. I mean EXACTLY half, not 'help out' now and then, or just the dishes0 -
anything resembling any type of monogamous relationship.. ewwww0

You know, I am curious to know. I'm a smoker and I totally get why non-smokers won't date us.
So that makes me wonder how non-smokers that do date us can do that? All of my lovers but one have been non-smokers. If I were to quit, I'd have a very difficult time dating a smoker.
Not that I'm not grateful for those who date smokers, but how do you do it?
Boyfriend is an occasional smoker - smokes a little more when he's stressed, otherwise only one or two a week. He knows I don't like it though. We're long distance, so it isn't a problem currently, but he knows I won't kiss him after a smoke If/When we live together - not in the house. Ever.0 -

* Has kids who are absolutely WRETCHED in public. When it comes down to it, Joe Public always looks at the female like she is the jerk when a kid misbehaves in public. I was raised with manners, and would behave while out at a very young age. If your child is the one everyone rolls their eyes at in a restaurant, I really don't want to be seen with either of you.
* Don't whine about EVERYTHING. If you don't like something, change it. I prefer not to have to manage BOTH our lives, by having to tell you how to move to the next level.
* You have to be into fitness. It doesn't have to be running & Crossfit (the 2 things I love & do 5-7 days a week ) but do more than sit on your butt watching TV. You need to understand where my drive comes from, and those who don't work out don't get it.
* PLEASE eat a variety of food. Living on pizza and chicken quesadillas is not cool once you are out of college. Someone who eats veggies is even better.
* Be kind to those who are weaker (children, animals, etc). If you are an *kitten* to a bartender or waiter, I will pay my half of the tab and roll. That is not cool.
* Don't live in filth! A house or apartment doesn't have to be ODC neat, but at some point please run a vacuum and clean your bathroom!0 -
