I got 13. I still have moments when I feel iffy about myself and I still have a good way to go before I have the body I want for health reasons but I'm largely happy in my body.0

You live comfortably in your body - most of the time. However, your body image and, therefore, your self-confidence can from time to time be a little shaky and there is a risk that certain situations could make you anxious on account of the way you feel about your body, size, shape or appearance. There are several aspects to this that you may need to work on in order to reduce this anxiety and make your life more comfortable.
First of all ask yourself how much do your feelings about your body actually stop you from doing the things which could give you pleasure, such as buying new clothes, being close to someone you love, or even enjoying your holidays. If the truth is that your body image is getting in the way, you may need to take stock.
Perhaps you should ask yourself whether it is your body which is 'wrong' or your feelings about your body which need to be adjusted. Is there perhaps one part of your body you are at war with, (like your tummy or your legs) which is colouring the way you feel about your entire self? How much have you taken on board the completely unrealistic pressures on us all to look like supermodels? No-one can be perfect and it isn’t likely that people will see you as you see yourself.
You may need to do a little work on your self-confidence and self-esteem to help you overcome the minor body image problems that you have and live your life to the full. Life is not a rehearsal and if we 'wait until' our body shape is the way we really want it, we may not do some of the things we would really like to do.
It isn’t advisable to solve a body image problem by rushing into a diet or throwing yourself into an exercise programme. If you would like to learn a few useful exercises which will help you feel better about your body (and they really work) see them below, and enjoy a better quality of life.0 -

I scored an 8 but then again I have never cared what my size or weight has been fluffy or not I have always been happy. Weight loss to me just= a healthy baby sometime in my future and a longer life with those I love0

My score was wicked high... but I figured it would be. I'm embarrassed to say it was 55. I've always had social anxiety and gone through a couple very deep depressions. I've come a long way from where I was though and need to keep pushing forward and working on my image of myself.
I can say that this site, with everyone's support has helped immensely Thanks to all on here who have kept me going and kept my spirits up!0 -

Yep, not too bothered the older I get. When I was a teen, this would have been off the scale high. I had 2 EDS. Boy, how things have changed!0 -
Scored: 27. I used to be in the 40-80 category though, so in my perspective I have done a lot of healing with my body image. The only one I answered "always" is the "looking at yourself in a photo/video"...that's a hard one.0

When I was younger it would have been a LOT higher. But these days I have came to accept myself. I still hate my lower half sometimes but other times I don't mind it, I could look a lot worse. My boyfriend of over 2 years has helped my body image incredibly and losing some weight has helped too.
Just have to remember that most people in magazines are edited. Once I realised that I could read a magazine without hating the woman on the cover!0 -

Im not sure how accurate this test it
I agree, I don't think the detailed results are anything clinically solid, or diagnostic. Take them with a grain of salt.
However, the big picture is something to think about, how do you feel about yourself, and is it getting better or worse?
Also, if you score low, imagine what it would be like to have a high score, now that you know what feelings would produce it.0 -
I scored a 10--but i know it would have been MUCH higher before I lost the 40+ pounds I was carrying last year.0

This is all very well but we know that people who are deemed as less attractive do worse off in social situations- making busniess deals, dating, job interviews...
And I have had more than one friend group where the past time when out socialising was "judge everyone" time. Just watch people go by and make as many nasty vicious comments as possible.
What I'm saying is, I know, objectively, what many people think of a fat body. Knowing that, why would I not feel my appearance made a difference in my life?
If I ticked "never" to all of those answers I think I would have to be completely deluded!0 -

"You are likely to be spending quite a lot of time either trying to change your shape and weight, or trying to avoid doing quite a lot of things, or beating yourself up in some way. This behaviour will make life feel like a battleground and reinforce the bad feelings you already have about yourself.
Overcoming poor body image is not a simple task. You are likely to have practised feeling bad about your body (and thus yourself) for quite a long time - perhaps even as long ago as childhood. To continue living this way is unfair to yourself and to see how much it affects the permissions you give yourself to lead a spontaneous adventurous life. In the end, you may need to consider seeing a counsellor to build up your self-esteem and to separate the way you feel about your body, from what is realistic and appropriate."
I 'm shocked because 1) I'm so much better than I used to be!, 2) I feel much more relaxed about it than many of my friends, and 3) I'm already doing many of the positive suggestions on the list. ETA and according to that I need counseling!0 -
Scored 52. Knew it was going to be high since I do suffer from depression, social and general anxiety -.-' My therapist always mentions how I have no self-esteem. Hoping it gets better when I lose some weight!0

I got a 21, now if I had done this a year and a half ago before loosing the weight I know it would have been through the roof. In clothes right now I feel great, out of clothes it depends, if you can see my bare butt and upper legs then I feel crappy, the rest of it is coming together quicker but never quick enough.0
