How many dates should a guy pay for?

My boyfriend usually pays bc I'm a single mother who struggles financially. That's why I suggest more affordable places to go instead of something more expensive unless it's a special occasion. I also make sure that the weekends he comes to my house, I have plenty of groceries and I cook meals for him. Then the weekends when I go to his house, I bring a few things to cook as well but he pays if we go out to dinner on Friday or lunch on Saturday. When I do have extra funds, I will suggest a place that's a little more pricey and offer to pay the full bill or for mine and my son's.0

oh, and when he pays, I offer to pay the tip.0

I dated one guy a few years ago who got offended if I even looked at the ticket. REALLY?!0

All of them.....
Men open doors, the pull our chairs, they pay for dates0 -

Yep. And women make us sammiches and bring us beers. Works perfectly0 -
I paid for all his meals... From start till finish.
I guess chivalry is dead after all.
Nope. But for some reason or another you were with a dufus. I mean he never paid for himself?0 -

The first 500 or so.

The gentleman pays for them all.
Until you are married. And then, it doesn't matter since you have a joint account anyway.
Now, my wife typically pays but, she also handles the finances so, it makes it easier for her.0 -
If I ask you out - I will pay
If he asks me out - and wants to share the bill thats fine..
It depends on the person really..0 -
If i let a man pay for me, then i assume he expects something from me. I'm not being unjustified, i've learnt from experience, maybe i'm picking the wrong ones.0

All of 'em. Even if I ask and insist on paying. Guy should pay. Part of dating is proving your worth as a partner, a provider.
No worries, ppl don't get all upset. I'm married. Now we both pay. There is no "my money" or "his money" it's our money.0 -
Men should always pay for dates. Just like women should always do the ironing.

my husband when we were just dating he never let me pay for anything even when we were just friends if we hung out he always paid....i even told him one time i got money and he looked at me and said "good for you" lol he told me i can use it someother time. now were married it doesnt matter it comes out of the same pot lol0 -
I would aways offer to pay my share on the first date but not push it if he looks offended, blokes can be sensitive souls. After that if I were at all serious I would expect to pay my way, either by alternating who pays or splitting or whatever.
None of the above applies if he is a millionaire. In which case true to my socilist principles I would let him redistriubute his wealth - my way.0 -
Al of them. And pay in cash, guys, so your wife doesn't find out when the Visa bill arrives.0

Guilty as charged. I think I've been brainwashed to do this though. It's second nature to me now. I won't even let my date look at the bill. Even if it's just a female friend I usually foot the bill. The only exception is when it's a coworker, then I just pay my portion.0 -
I'd say first date for sure and then I'm ok to split from there. It is really nice to be taken out for dinner though - I've only been on a few dates in my lifetime where the guy paid.0

My boyfriend is one of those guys who is weird about me paying ever, but he also pays more of the bills and tends to buy more of the house things, and we make about the same salary, so I like to try to give back sometimes. I prefer a 50/50 split, so I'm pulling my own weight. But he really hates to let me pay at a restaurant, so I let him, unless I know he's putting it on his cc because he's overdrafted or something, then and only then will I argue.
I usually just find something else to pay for, like groceries.0 -
Until she puts out.0

Half of all of them.0

I'm old fashioned, so-- all of them... My boyfriend complains that I always expect him to pay, and it offends me... I'm the girl, and as my sister says "girls don't pay for dates"...
So you will never pay for a meal between you and him...EVER?
I don't, BUT I am more than happy to cook dinner for the guy I'm dating. Is that fair?0 -
Call me old fashioned...
Guy should pay most of the time. Every now and again if she offers, let her pay.0 -

Ha! I agree. It's a win-win.0 -
I'd always offer to pay for myself, or half the bill for whatever it was that we decided to do for the evening.0
-
The person who invites should do the paying.0
