For those interested in "stats" -

    1. I measure between 5'8" and 5'8.5" tall and I currently weigh 144 lbs.
    2. No, I do not eat clean....well, certainly not all the time. I am "cutting" right now and I am *trying* (but not always succeeding....) to eat mostly protein and fewer (bad) carbs.
    3. Yes, I do intermittent fasting. Actually, Venus would call my style of eating "intermittent feeding" because I eat all of my calories from 12:30 pm (lunch-time) to 6:30/8:30 pm. I am naturally more hungry later in the day.
    4. I eat NOTHING all morning and I work-out at lunchtime, fasted, always.
    5. "Heavy lifting" got me started on ending my "skinny fat" days.....but, it's 100% true that you CANNOT "out-train" a bad diet! So, exercise has transformed my SHAPE, but being in a caloric deficit has removed my BODY FAT.

This is the order of the last 20 months of my getting OUT of the "cardio-rat-race" and INTO the weight-lifting:

    A. Body for Life - used a LOT of machines, but got into the pattern of weight-training 3 x per week. Did this program for 4 months. WOULD NOW RECOMMEND YOU *SKIP* the weight-machines, and, by extension, this program.
    B. NROL4W - brought me to the "NROL4W" group here on mfp and got me started on leaving the machines LONG BEHIND and moving to the free weight section. Did this program for 6 months.
    C. NROL4Abs - LOVED the "abs first" protocol in this book. Did this program for 2 months.
    D. NROL4Life - similar to NROL4Abs. Did this program for 1 month.
    E. Venus Index - am currently doing this program (I'm in Phase 2) and I started this program 7 months ago.
