Love these ideas, I will have to try some. Thanks to all that added the sodium count!

Bump means they are commenting blank to bring this post up to a more recent thread so it doesn't get lost

    Man Loving Chuck Roast

    1 Chuck roast
1 jar of horseradish (not the creamy stuff, just the plain ground horseradish.. you can use fresh if you want to go through the trouble)
    1 onion
    balsamic (dab, optional)
red wine (just a smidge if you want.. not needed but good)
    Basil
    Olive oil
    garlic to taste

On skillet heat oil and brown chuck roast with basil and garlic. I like to carmalize the onion at the same time.
When roast is browned splash in your red wine to deglaze the pan.
Dump the rest of the ingredients in Crock pot, this is when I drizzle the balsamic over the meat.
Coat the top half of the roast with the entire jar of horseradish.

    Slow cook all day
Heat from horseradish cooks out and leaves a divine flavor.
You can serve it over potatoes, but if you want you can serve it over whatever else you prefer. (not rice)

try googling Wendy's Chili Recipe... we make it without the meat and by using stewed tomatoes instead of sauce... it's delicious and super easy for a busy schedule... the only prep is dicing onion and celery...yes, the pinto and kidney beans are canned...that's what makes is a 5 minute prep meal....I think it's the combo of chili powder and cumin that makes it so tasty.

    Going to make this -

I take it the values at bottom when it's divided into ten portions, that's a lot for one batch !!!
