Homemade AND super yummy and healthy:
blend up frozen bananas!!! It blends to a perfect ice cream texture. You can even add cocoa to it to your desired 'chocolateyness".....0 -

all ice cream is fine to eat,once you dont eat the whole tub!my daughter had an Oreo carton on Saturday it was a 500ml carton and it was a whopping 940 cals,Im glad I dont like Oreo anyway,I had an almond icecream from lidl one of those you get in a box of 8 and it was 330 cals,so eat it but just be carefull!!!0

All ice cream is okay, if you fit it in your calories/macros
but if you're looking for something that is easier to fit in your macros and will give you a decent amount of protein in the process, here's a recipe:
- 1 scoop vanilla flavour whey isolate powder (or another vanilla flavour protein isolate, doesn't have to be whey)
- 150g frozen fruit... berries, mango, guava and other fairly sweet fruit works well
- 100g laban (Arabic dairy product) or plain yoghurt
Whizz it in a blender, serve in a bowl, eat with a spoon.0 -

All ice cream is good. I have some pretty much every day in the summer.
For days when I have the calories to splurge I have Talenti gelato-- it's around 200-250 calories per half cup.
For days when I don't have the calories or need something with less fat to fit my macros I get Edy's slow churned. They've got one now that's part yogurt and it's awesome. It's 120 calories per half cup.
Frozen yogurt is also a good choice.0 -
All foods are OK to eat. Bad foods and good foods don't exist except in our brains. If you're worried about overdoing the claories, just balance the ice cream out with other lower cal food or do more exercise.0

I also eat frozen banana "ice cream" I cut up the banana and freeze it and then put it in the blender with a couple of spoons of peanut butter or almond butter and it's delicious, sometimes I even have it in a cone.
It's real food and no dodgy chemicals or ingredients I can't pronounce, so I prefer it.0 -
I love ice cream.it's one of the things I have no self control over so I try to avoid it lol.I hate diet ice cream though, it always has this funny taste to it.Anyway, if it fits in your calories for the day and you can keep yourself from getting a giant spoon and going crazy. Go for it0

try mixing a sachet of sugar free jelly, 1 tsp or xanthan gum, a couple of scoops of your choice of whey/caesin powder, and blend it all up with ice and a cup of boiling water, leave in the freezer for an hour to set and you'll have about 1-2 liters of ice cream for about 200 cals and very few carbs0

Check out pinterest for ways to make your own -- I found a recipe for "ice cream" made with only a little peanut butter, cocoa powder and frozen bananas. I haven't tried it, but it looks delicious! My next purchase is going to be a yonanas machine.. an ice cream making using fruit only!0

Hi! Ice cream is just that...ice cream. While there are probably healthier versions, or sugar-free versions...I would just stick to regular. My dad's a diabetic and through his studying of ingredients...it's often that fat-free versions of products are ultimately worse for you than the original. Soooo, if I were you, just limit yourself. Make a rule that you can only eat one thing of ice cream a week - sort of as a reward....and don't overdo it either.
Personally, I've found that once you quit eating something...even if you loved it, after a while, you won't care for it as much! I also loved ice cream, but once I eat it after avoiding it for a few weeks, it's not the same.

I'm trying to make my way through the entire Blue Bell line-up. Currently on Century Sundae with Lemon Bliss, Caramel Turtle Cheesecake, Italian Cream Cake, Red Velvet Cake, Southern Blackberry Cobbler, Buttered Pecan, The Great Divide, and Dessert Trio all in the rear view mirror. It's tough work and I have a long road ahead of me, but feel I'm up for the challenge.
I'm at maintenance right now and find that I'm usually hitting my macros with a couple of hundred calories to spare when dinner is complete. That's all that is needed for a 1/2 cup of ice cream before bed.

I've been enjoying the little single-serving cups of Starbucks and Ben & Jerry's flavors. Any ice cream you like can be measured out carefully with a food scale so you are in control of how many calories you're getting. Sometimes I use Blue Bunny vanilla frozen yogurt to make a Diet Dr. Pepper float. At 100 calories per half cup, that frozen yogurt makes a pretty substantial treat without nuking my calorie budget.0

Dryer's and Edy's, depending of if you're eastern or western US, both make a slow churned style of ice cream that is very deliciuos, and they sell them in smaller containers of only between 150 and 200 calories making it easy to limit yourself and control your portion. They are a little harder to find but if you do they're nice to have around when those cravings kick in.0
