I tried something new from their sample table last week, it was yummy! Made with their 10 Minute Farro which is high in protein 10g; fat 1.5g; fiber 5g; and Iron 10%.
Made the recipe from the side of the pkg which is what the sample was. But I don't know what the nutrients were yet. It was so good that DH liked it as well so will be imputing recipe here to find out.0 -
I love Trader Joes. The only problem is the closet one to us is 3 hours away. So anytime I get to one, I stock up on my favorite things such as the Lite Kettle Corn, Unsalted Pistachios and the Strawberry Bars. I wish we had one in our town!!!0

I love the Reduced Guilt Guacamole. I use it on sandwiches too. The cookie butter is tasty, I put it on graham crackers but it's dangerous!0

Love TJ's. Have one 1/2 mile from me and I am there ALOT! Their prices are averaged across the country so all prices are the same at all TJ's (at least that's what one of their employees told me). Just make sure you continue to read labels. I love that I can get organic condiments there made with real sugar instead of HFCS. Love their marinaras and hummus. But read read read. Processed food is still processed food!0

I shop at Trader Joe's often...amazing store. Where do I begin?
Organic bagged lettuce and baby spinach
Fresh organic chicken breasts
Fresh Angus tri-tip
Cheddar Cheese sticks
Fruit (I love their specials on nectarines, kiwis, and bananas)
Joe's O's cereal
Rice Mac N' Cheese
Organic marinara sauce
Organic creamy peanut butter
Psyllium Husks (at a great price!)
Fresh (not frozen) Chicken Tamales (they have them around the holidays)

Cranberry oatmeal
....and probably much more that I'm forgetting. I TJ's!!!0 -
What is this cookie butter you speak of? Hmmm must find some!
from what I read it tastes just like the cookies they give you on some airplanes. Almost like a biscuit.
I've heard the TJ's cookie butter is addictive but I myself prefer the dark chocolate almond butter (made in Belgium!!!)
Like Biscoff spread?0 -
I do quite a bit of my shopping there. Their own brands are reasonably priced. Their frozen fish is minimally processed. I like their stuffed raviolis and selection of canned fish (dolphin safe). Their own brand of unsweetened soy milk is great. I also like their brand of raw almonds and dried organic (or not) cranberries. Many of their dried fruit selections do not have sulfur added to them.
When I lived in NJ, the TJ's was 10 minutes away, now I live in Charleston SC, and it's an hour. But we shop there once a month and it works out.0 -
I LOVE Trader Joe's!! I go there for bananas, avocados, goddess salad dressing, etc. etc. They have very decent prices for the quality of food and I love how they tend to have something different every week.
OH!! ANDDDD I love their flowers!0 -
Love their Joe-Joes and their Almond Milk. Most of my shopping I do there.
^^^^Yes, their almond milk is great and it costs about $1 less than Silk Almond Original at other stores. Also, their version of Sunbutter is better than the Sunbutter brand and I can go through a jar of that in a week easy. Plus, you can't find sunflower seed butter everywhere, yet. I love it!!!0 -
Kalamata olive (sp?) hummus, chipotle hummus, chocolate covered banana bites, any and all of their crackers, their salad dressings, their fruit leathers etc. anything. I usually just look at prices, and if its less than 1.99 I take a look at the product and usually end up picking it up.0

I love the Reduced Guilt Guacamole. I use it on sandwiches too. The cookie butter is tasty, I put it on graham crackers but it's dangerous!
I chop up chicken mix that Guacamole in and stuff it in a pita and my daughter is in heaven.0 -
I LOVE TJ's! I shop there for 90% of my groceries I am currently addicted to their "nacho" kale chips--pricey, but worth it. I also love their kale dip. Great for veggies and crackers and is made with Greek yogurt instead of all mayo.0

I shop at Aldi, which is a "brother" store of Trader Joe's. AND I LOVE IT! Way better prices, just off brand stuff which is perfectly fine with me! Some people dont understand how to shop at Aldi, because it is a different kind of store BUT I worked there and I can explain everything and why they do everything!!! It's all for saving money, both for them and for the customer! LOVE IT!
Aldi is the parent company, and the store brand items at both stores are largely the same.
TJs loves:
sweet potato fries
frozen mandarin orange chicken
frozen brown rice
lime floes
tomato basil hummis
mini goat cheese
wasabi almonds
This Fig Walked Into A bars
pumpkin greek yogurt (in the fall)
carne asada

Quinoa bread
And that is what I can think of just off the top of my head. I shop their for the majority of my produce too because it is cheaper there to get organic than at most stores.0 -

Trader Joes has great prices on Kerry Gold butter. It's also a decent place to get a pack of chia seeds.
I saw chia seeds, but that was the first time I had ever heard of them. How do you use them?
STEP 1:
Add 1/4 cup of water to 2 teaspoons of Chia seeds. Stir the mixture after 15 minutes to moisten all seeds, then let it set for 24 hours. This process softens the seed coat and begins the growth cycle of your Chia seeds. In another container, also soak your Chia® planter for 24 hours.
STEP 2:
Carefully apply the seeds evenly to the grooves of your planter, using your fingers, a small knife, or a spatula. Fill your Chia® to the top with water. Check the water level daily and add additional water whenever necessary. Some leakage in the drip tray is normal. Discard the accumulated water daily.
STEP 3:
Keep full of water. Moist seeds should sprout in 3-5 days.
STEP 4:
When the air is dry, it is more challenging to keep the seeds moist enough to sprout properly. To promote germination of the seeds, "tent" a plastic bag over your Chia®. Do not allow the plastic to touch the planter! This will create a greenhouse environment for your Chia®. When most of the seeds have sprouted (about 3 to 4 days), remove the bag and place your Chia® in a sunny location.
STEP 5:
A small amount of white "fuzz" is normal when your Chia seeds first sprout. This is actually the emergence of "root hairs," and is the second stage of growth for your Chia seeds. "Misting" your Chia® with a spray bottle will give the root hairs a less fuzzy appearance. If the fuzz persists past the first week, it is likely that you have a mildew problem. Your Chia® can still be used. Scrub the seeds off the planter using a brush. Soak your Chia® in a solution of 1 tablespoon bleach to 1 gallon of water for a half hour to remove any mildew residue. Rinse well with clear water and proceed as above. Grows quickly to full coat. Reuse your Chia® indefinitely. Simply replant with Chia® (extra seeds included) or similar herb seeds, such as basil, timothy, alfalfa, marjoram or thyme.0 -

I bet their Kerry Gold Butter is not as cheap as Costco?
I buy their 100% cranberry juice. Seems they are the only one that sell 100% CJ
perhaps, but not after you factor in the costco membership price!!0 -
Yeah, I posted a big old thing about the differences between Aldi and TJ, but realized that no one cares and I'm crowding up an awesome thread. :flowerforyou:
So, I'm replacing it with:
Valrhona chocolate bars
Honey Sesame almonds (mixed w/ roasted coconut chips for trail mix!)
Great prices on plain old cheese - cheddar and goat and mozzarella in my house every week
Milk - their RBST-free milk is only $.70 more expensive per gallon than the cheap stuff at the chain grocery store. WORTH IT!
Fruit/cereal bars - kids love them for breakfast0 -
I like it but I get in trouble when I shop there! I spend too much money! I always want to buy snack food there!
My favorites:
chia seeds
blueberry oatmeal
cashew, almond, cranberry trek mix
mini ice cream cones
mandarin orange chicken
Brownie Granola like bars0 -

haha are these the directions for chia pets? You can just put chia seeds in your smoothies, yogurt, whatever you want and eat them. If you soak them in liquid they expand in size and make you feel full for longer periods of time0 -
We like the smoked salmon, chocolate cat cookies (for people), which are healthier for you and yummy, whole wheat low carb tortillas only 45 calories (they taste really good and do not fall apart) , spinach sour cream dip, frozen chicken lime chipotle burgers, baked cheese crunchies, all of the dark chocolate covered fruits, black bean dip, Greek yogurts, frozen green beans with potato and mushroom, healthier tortilla chips, and for toiletries they have tea oil astringent pads for cleansing the face that my son loves.0
-
We're getting one built right around the corner from us. It won't be open until July 2014 I believe. I can't wait until it opens!!0
-
Their turkey or chicken burgers. They also have good 100 calorie chocolate bars.0
