After reading all these positive comments I think you know that you're making a statement about how all of us should be living our lives.
You have an uncommon candor and sincerity and that makes you truly beautiful. One of my favorite quotes by a 19th century English Quaker says "Never tell a child,” said George MacDonald, ‘you have a soul. Teach him, you are a soul; you have a body.’ As we learn to think of things always in this order, that the body is but the temporary clothing of the soul....." He was referencing how we should mourn but it's not just death that we often mourn. Often we mourn the loss of our youthful beauty, the strength and vigor of young bodies, and the easy grace of youth, but if we are very fortunate, as you apparently are, we come to know that beauty is in the love we give and receive. I think you're quite lovely.0 -
Thanks for sharing. I am sure that was really hard. I have taken pictures but don't have the COURAGE that you did to show anyone yet. Keep doing what you are doing and I will try to take my own advice! We CAN do this.0

I love your post and your devotion. I always see everyones before and after threads and sit back and envy the courage they have. Ive always been paranoid of how *I* see myself as well as how others see me. Your post *may* have just given me the courage boost to add another picture to my profile that I took the other night. *maybe*
Keep on keepin' on!0 -

You are awesome, brave, and my hero. I applaud your courage. I am 60 and I have the same body issues from a lifetime of yo-yo dieting.
Today I weigh 229 and have been with MFP for almost 2 weeks. Because of your honesty, wit, and positive outlook, I feel encouraged that I, too, can be successful!

1 peter 4:8 - above all, love each other deeply, because love covers a multitude of sins.
based on the comments and encouragement of everyone here and those around you, you are loved very deeply! it's wonderful that you are exercising and being bold and honest with yourself and everyone else. you are loved by all for who you are and not simply your appearance! i've read some of your other posts as well and i can echo everyone else here. you are adorable inside and outside!
you are a very blessed woman indeed to have such a wonderful friend, coach, and husband by your side, as well as being surrounded by a great support network here on MFP. keep up the awesome work, i'm looking forward to seeing more of your progress and your posts!0 -
Wonderful post. Excellent Pics. You look fabulous. You have done such hard work. Love the pics.0

Don't be so down on yourself! You remind me very much of my mom (and of my aunt, who also had knee replacements, but hasn't managed to lose the weight).
The difference is, you are *getting somewhere* with your weight loss. You're super-determined, and it's showing.
And just as I valued (and still value) my mom and aunt, regardless of their weight, the people in your life value you, FOR you, no matter what you weigh, or what that weight looks like.
Kudos for getting back into the pool - that will help you so much on your journey!
It's not about how you look, but how you feel, and clearly you're feeling better every day. :-)0 -
Thank you. You look beautiful and you inspire me to be stronger!!0
-
I love the way you own this - both the challenges of your life and success of it. A true awakening like this brings about not just physical changes, but personal growth and spiritual connections.
All the best! Great work and deduction.0 -
You are really an inspiration not only for your bravery but for such an endearing, heartfelt post and your positive outlook. I applaud you and think that you are really a beautiful person!! Keep up your excellent work!! :happy:0
-

-
Actually, weight loss doesn't cover up any Sins.
1st Peter 4:8,"And above all things have fervent love
for one another, for love will cover a
multitude of sins.”
Jesus died for your sins.
That's love.0 -
BEAUTIFUL!!!!! you are such an inspiration!!0
