To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee. I've seen the movie but never read the book. This year I got the 50th anniversary edition as a gift. It is beautifully written and I highly recommend this Pulitzer prize winning novel.
This has always been my favorite book. I'm interested to see if Lonesome Dove will take the top spot or not...To Kill a Mockingbird is going to be hard to beat
Thanks for mentioning the 50th anniversary edition...I've got to have it!0 -
I'm reading Eat, Pray, Love.0

I'm reading the Complete Sherlock Holmes - 400 pages in, only 700 to go!0

I usually have 2 or more books on the go, usually because i pick a hard cover one to keep reading at home or before bed, and a soft cover small one to take with me in my purse for waiting rooms, buses etc. Currently I am into:
The Secret History of Mary Magdalene: Christianity's Hidden Goddess by Lynn Picknett.
I bought this on on sale at the book store last weekend, the back peaked my interest. I was not raised in a religious home, but ever since i read / watched the DaVinci Code and Angels & Demons, the Knights Templar etc. has seemed interesting. I might just take a stab at the Bible next, my Dad told me it is something everyone should read at least once (and he is far from religious). I might just read it to get the other point of view.
and
The Hellion / Separate Beds / Hummingbird : Three complete Novels by LaVyrle Spencer.
I am almost done The Hellion, i bought it at a book sale for 3 dollars. I have read a book (several times) by the same author called Morning Glory, which was really good, so far, this one is to.
Happy Reading!!0 -

I really liked her first book which was "MacBeth's Niece" a fictional story in the times of MacBeth. The current story center's around Princess Elizabeth... So far both are great reads.0

I just finished the three Stieg Larson books. The first one was slow and disconnected for the first 55 pages- but then it picked up and all three were fascinating.0

I started reading "The Fall of Baghdad" by Jon Lee Anderson a few months ago ... it is heavy reading but very interesting. But then i got busy with other things and had back pain and was unable to concentrate so left it for a few months. Will pick it up and try to recall where i left off. I may re read some bits as i try to find where i was up to. Baby has removed the book mark, ha ha.
I love history and i love Sci fi and fantasy, mystery, action, drama .... love vampire stories too ..... i haven't read any books for such a long time. I used to devour books regularly.
But its nice to see what you are all reading so i can look out for books along the lines of the things i am interested in so thanks for sharing xxx0 -
