Hey Everyone,
I actually have two goals for September. The first is to exercise at least 60 minutes everyday. I have been struggling lately and it is showing or not showing on the scale. The second goal is to plan my meals. I think I am doing something wrong, eventhough I make certain to stay within my carb limit or at least close to it. Something's gotta give!!0 -
Welcome VJ150! :flowerforyou:
I'm so glad you've decided to join us on the challenge! I think you've set some great goals for yourself this month! Why not let us know what your exercise plan and meals are for the day to try and keep yourself accountable?
You can do this! :drinker:0 -
Hi there, ladies! and Welcome VJ150!
My personal goal for September is to lose 5 pounds - as I said on another thread, doesn't sound like much, but I"m losing slow and I have a week-long seminar/vacation the last week of September in Orlando - so that week will be a challenge just staying on plan! But having a goal makes it easier....
Let's ROCK this!0 -
exercise 5 days week/60 minutes
be more consistent with staying alcohol free
stick to my high protein, high fat low carb plan....
hopefully that will yield a 3 pound loss for the month!0 -
Happy September All! My plan for the month is:
keep the carbs as low as I can
exercise at least 5 days a week
find some new foods/recipes to satisfy low carbs and my needs and tastes0 -

Does anyone know of a low carb wrap that isn't loaded with sodium. I've noticed if the carbs are low the sodium goes thru the roof. Any thoughts would be appreciated.0

Great goals Poot!
As for the low carb wraps...look and see if you can find one called Tumaro Gourmet Tortilla. They make a whole grain, salsa and a few other flavors-the fiber and carb counts are great, they taste great and the sodium in the salsa wrap is only 125mg.0 -

Thank you so much for the info. I just looked them up online and they have at least 200 mg less sodium than the ones i'm using now. I can't get them in my area but I can order them online. Thanks again.

You're welcome Debbie! I guess I'm lucky-my grocery store carries a wide variety of the Tumaro tortillas and they are considerably lower in sodium than most. I'm using the new Mission Carb Balance tortillas right now for a change of pace-the sodium is higher but since the rest of my my food is low sodium, it balances out. Where are you ordering from? I ask because I've had great luck with netrition.com Great prices and quick shipping!

My September challenge:
* Keep my carbs under 20 a day
* Eat at least 4 servings of low-carb veggies per day
* Cut down on Diet Coke & replace with water
* Try to fit exercise in around my crazy schedule
* Have only one piece of cake for my birthday LOL
* Lose another 8 lbs by my son's birthday on the 30th
I have alot of other goals that aren't specifically related to my diet, but are more related to general health!
Here's to everyone having success with their September challenge!0 -
I can order them off the Tumaro website. I have used netrition in the past also with great results.0

Happy September Colette! Great goals! What workout DVDs will you be using? I have a handful that I use, but I'm always searching for something new.0

I know this wasn't directed to me, but I am so thrilled with some of the resources I have found that I am going to put my 2 cents in! I get bored very easily with exercising, so I am always looking to change it. I use the 30 day shred on days that I am really motivated, but on other days I just want exercise that is fun. www.sparkpeople.com has a section of workout videos that I really like. Most of them are short (10 min), so I either fit in my workouts in 10 minute segments throughout my day or do a few different ones at a time. www.exercisetv.com has a bunch of free full-length workout videos too. You can download them if you want to pay, but there are some really good ones to watch for free. In addition to this, I have Netflix, and there are a ton of workout videos that you can stream instantly to your computer. You can order them by mail, too, but I save my mail orders for movies that I want to watch. Between all these things, I could probably do a different workout every day for six months!0 -
Thanks for sharing Hockey_Mom! You should always throw you 2 cents in! You know, I have had Netflix for months and have never even looked at the workout DVDs! I need to do that this weekend and see what I can find! Great idea for sparkpeople.com-that sounds like a great way to break up a boring routine!
I personally Leslie Sansone's Walk Away the Pounds series...I just can't say enough good about her DVDs!0 -

[/quote Oops another one. I am sorry I don't know what I am doing. Trying to rush things too much. OK I am going to go sit down and read my book and get my nerves settle down.0 -

I've done some of Leslie Sansone's videos before, and I have always liked them too! I actually lost weight with them a few years back (before I really needed to lose the weight, if you know what I mean). Definitely check out what Netflix has, they might have some of hers that you can send for in the mail. Glad that I could try to help!0 -
I just realized that I haven't posted my own goal for the month! Silly me! :blushing:
So as my ticker shows, I'm pretty gosh darn close to my goal! Which puts me in Phase 3 of Atkins...which means I should be eating above 20 net carbs a day. Well, that doesn't happen most days...most days I average between 15-30 net carbs. While I'm still eating great for me foods, I want to continue to this the RIGHT way! So my goal is to add in a Phase 3 approved food at least once a week-most likely a fruit as this is an area I've avoided at all costs because of how badly they stall my weight loss. With introducing new foods I'm goaling myself to start eating about 40-50 net carbs a day and let the rest of this weight come off on its own time!
So I already achieved my goal for this week by eating some greek yogurt today! :drinker: However, on the flip side, TOM is in town and I'm feeling super crummy and have a major case of the munchies so I had my first real "cheat" day in months and had pizza AND ice cream tonight...:noway: But no regrets! The scale will be UP tomorrow but it will go down by next week once the  is gone!
So how did everyone's first day of the month go??0 -
