Is there anything you will not give up?

When making a lifestyle change, so many foods become villified. Well for me, the second a food becomes a no no it might as well by ecstasy. So, I really want this to work. I have cut back on diet soda, but haven't cut it out. I also have a wonderful flavored coffee every morning (I budget for it). I also like to have chocolate so I keep the little dove squares frozen cold in the refrigerator so I can treat one like a piece of hard candy for a chocolate fix.
What are your foods that have to be included?

I won't give up bread
I have given up so many other things though and cut back on more than that. I eat very little meat and no soda whatsoever.. Occasionally "Christmas like" I will have a coke ha! I try to revolve my diet around plant based foods. SO far so good but definitely hard, I'm better as days go by! Amen to that.

Since there is no reason to give up any food, I havent' given up anything. Now there are foods that my body rejects so I don't eat them any more such as: french fries or any kind of fried foods. Outside of that, I make it fit into my calories.0

I didn't really give up on anything but I eat it in moderation

Honestly, I have cut back on a lot of things, but I refuse to tell myself that any food is off limits forever. I've cut way back on wine, bread, and all kinds of junk food. For me though, the minute I feel like I can never have something again, I want it more than ever.0

I have a Cold Stone Creamery large ice cream EVERY Saturday :blushing:
Actually, I can have anything I have been really craving on Saturday. I have given a lot of food up to get my health issues under control, but I won't say never, I will just limit when I can have them. That way, if it impacts my health and I have a flare, I have a day to recover.0 -
Peanut Butter .... and I seriously need to get this addiction in check!0

The only thing I gave up was cigarettes. I eat everything I like and still lose 2+ Lbs a week.0

I never thought I could give up Diet Coke, and now I haven't had one in 17 weeks and counting. I think it was just changing my perspective to "I can have it, but I'm choosing not to" rather than "I can't."
In any event, I work stuff into my day if I really want it. I don't consider anything truly "off limits". I love pizza, but I make different choices with pizza now. Still pizza, but homemade with yummy healthy toppings. I actually don't eat pretty much anything fried though because it does not sit well in my system anymore. I avoid it because the after-effects are unpleasant. LOL0 -
Creamy Jif Peanut Butter. Don't even try to take it away. I know over 400 ways to kill a man with a jar of Jif.

Dont give up anything! Now, I have changed my "likes" in the past 6 months, but I still eat ice cream almost every night.0

The only thing I've (mostly) given up is soda. I don't drink them on a regular basis anymore. I have maybe 2 a month when out to dinner or if I need a caffeine boost for some reason. Otherwise, it's just a waste of calories for me.
Anything else is 100% fair game for showing up in my food diary. I refuse to vilify foods.0 -
I can't say that I've given up anything. But I do eat in moderation and allow it to fit into my calories. But I've always said I will NEVER GIVE UP PIZZA!0

Cheesecake. I'll keep a small one in the freezer and have a slice if I have the calories left to do it. I only allow myself to have a piece once a week though. Gives me extra incentive to exercise more, just so I can earn that sliver of heaven!0

I won't give anything up, I just eat a whole lot less of it.0

I used to drink soda every day- I now only allow myself a soda on the weekends if it fits within my allotted calories.0

I haven't given anything up. I make better overall nutritional decisions...I moderate my intake...I get my fitness on...and I indulge in whatever I like after that.0

The only thing I have given up is sodas. I didn't have to, I just wanted to. As soon as I did that I knew I could do anything!0

Beer.
Have you tried the Natural Creamy Jif? I think its much better than the regular Creamy Jif.0 -
I haven't really given up anything, unless you count takeaways. But that's not because of my calorie allowance, that's because now, my stomach doesn't react too kindly to fried, fatty food, and I get punished the next day.0

I really haven't given anything up. I've switched a few things. I bought Nature's Promise Oat bran pretzel sticks instead of regular pretzel sticks. I've added the Naked juices into my diet. I don't drink soda as much, but there isn't anything I won't eat. I am just practicing portion control. I can say I definitely have added more kinds of foods. I tried scallops for the first time the other day. Delicious!0
