Hi, I've been on MFP for almost 2 months now and I'm looking to join a closer knit group to motivate and support each other.
My calorie intake is at 1650 right now... I tried lower and stalled for 2 weeks. Lots of reasons to be here but I'm dedicated that this will be the last time I need to drop this weight. I'm already feeling stronger and energetic.
Everyone seems to be a great bunch and hopes this turn out to be as fun as it looks!0 -
Well after a day of total and complete lazyness yesterday, brought on by several too many post race pitchers of beer I was back at the gym this morning before work doing my Over Head Press lifting day... Shoulders feeling good and exhausted now! Should be pretty busy at work today after not even checking email yesterday...
p1- Welcome to one of the most supportive groups on MFP!
Neco- congrats on the new jeans!!! Rock those things with pride!
Lauriek70- A day after race workout... what I a nice thought. LOL I'll try that nexttime perhaps! Although my next 5k is through a vineyard and ending at a winery... so we will see how that works out for me! Congrats on the 37:15 time!
Skinny- Hope you enjoyed the birthday! I did not even get you anything... :smokin:
TLH- Great loss for Sept!! Hope that October is every bit as good for you!
Susan- Did you get that early workout in???0 -
Welcome - Nico and P1 - you've found a great community to support you!
Gorilla - sounds like a hefty shoulder workout this AM.
I got on the scale and I am down to 210.4. This is exciting for me because I caught a glimpse of ONDERLAND in the distance this morning for the first time since 1968. This makes for a six pound loss this month!
Also I am moving much better this morning and in so much less pain - the increased dose of prednisone is helping - HOORAYI feel like a new woman.
This new woman is royally angry however, because her online dating account has been hacked a second time - this time the account will be closed at my request and a refund demanded - I'm fed up with this mess - passwords were stolen again!
Laurie - I like your idea of making the Holloween candy an exercise reward for the October challenge - I think that's great - will add that to the list. I forget who is going to make adding water to their daily regimen - but a personal challenge is great too.0 -
Good Morning Everyone! I'm a little excited to have gotten through yesterday (first day back on plan & exercising) with little anxiety! Yay! I'm in my BIL's wedding in December. The dress came yesterday. Actually, I purchased 2 dresses - different sizes, just to make sure I got the best fitting one. Happy to report that the smaller one fit! Oh and I stepped on the scale this morning... first time in a month as I had fallen off plan and there was no weight gain. Whew! I know I'm not going to rock that gown as there is no way to lose 100 lbs in 3 months, but I'm going to feel so much better in it than I would have! Also, we are going to Disneyland in December and I'm looking forward to walking around with less weight = less discomfort. *feeling hopeful*
@Robin - Yay for Onderland! I'm excited for you! When I get down under 300, I plan never to see that number again! Glad you are feeling better and sorry about the password issue.
@necolong - CONGRATULATIONS!!! You should be so proud! Wow! Good for you! Amazing job!
Have a great day everyone!0 -
Good morning my friends. As usual it has been busy busy here with the hubby home. Nice difference though instead of gaining I have lost 2 of the ten pounds I gained in the last two months.
So real quick before I forget:
Happy b-day Skinny. I hope you enjoyed your weekend and this year brings you everything you could wish for.
Gorilla congrats on the race. I am actually thinking about trying on of the shorter ones over here next summer.
Robin I am very happy to hear you have the prednisone worked out better.
Welcome to the new faces I saw as I was reading along. You have found a great group.
AFM: We got a new family member yesterday. He is a little 6 and a half week old puppy. He is a cross between saint bernard and blue heeler. He was in a bad situation and was rescued from it when he was four weeks. His rescuers got him healthy agian and then posted to find him a home yesterday and my son saw the picture and fell in love.
Anyway gtg and take hubby to the dentist.Have a great day everyone.:drinker:0 -
Hey everyone! Recovering from some horrifying lung plague. Mostly I'm up and around but I'm still hacking stuff us all the time. (Why thank you for sharing, welcome back Toots!) But I started tracking my food again today and everything so yay.0

Good morning everybody.
I got a call from the CPAP people and I have an appointment for 1:00pm today to go get the new one! I hope they are not bull#$%@& me like the last time with the other company that said come get it then would give it to me. I might get some good sleep tonight!
Beth- I hit 270.0 again yesterday but was 267.4 this morning.
RobinsEgg- ONEDERLAND here you come!:drinker: (cheers!)
Toots- Good to see you!

Hello! I am new to this group. However I am very excited and am getting very motivated by everyone's posts. GorillaNJ refered me.
Thanks!0 -
Yay--toots is back!!
Welcome newlings!!
@gorilla--I can't believe you didn't get me anything!
@robin--sounds like that company has poor security. There are plenty of online dating sites--find one that doesn't put your info at such a risk.
Hi to everyone else! Gotta get back to work!0 -
Boom babies! I'm back!
I'm sorry I haven't been very supportive this month, I have been reading your triumphs and struggles every single day so I'm up to date. Just haven't been taking the time to post (or log my food for that matter).
The damages of this month 'off' were quite extensive. I haven't been able to face the scale to determine how bad, and I'm not going to for at least 3 weeks so I have time for my gimpy little kidneys to pass out all this sodium (and BOY has there been a LOT of sodium).
Mom's been here for 5 weeks and we had LOTS of fun. She was really excited that I can buy clothes in 'regular' stores now (still in the plus size section of course, but at least now I don't have to buy stuff ONLY by catalogue) and she bought me a LOT of clothes. I had to keep putting things back and reminding her that I want the sizes to go down quickly again, that these might not fit me for very long.
I did get a lead on 2 jobs (fingers crossed). I interview for one on Wednesday and I've already taken the drug test/background check for the other. One is a guaranteed temporary position for a year.. the other is temp but they don't know if the person is coming back. . It could be only 2 weeks.. but it she doesn't come back it would be a perm. position. It pays a fair amount less than the other, but if it becomes perm the pay increase would be substantial.... *IF* it becomes permanent it's a GREAT job. It would require a move (or a newer car for commuting), but it would only be about 1/2 an hour north (in the town I lived in when I first moved out here to Oregon). It would kind of bring me full circle. I just have to figure out which one I want to gamble on and jump.
After 2 years living here I still hadn't found a church I liked so Mom and I did some church hopping. She looked though a list of local churched and pointed out denominations that would be closer to the one I grew up in than the others. I grew up in the Hungarian Reformed Church (the services were not even in English until I was in my late teens and we got an English Speaking pastor...) and of course we don't have one of those here. It only took 2 churches to found one I LOVED. I've been to 3 of their services, 3 bible studies, and a 'community group' meeting with them and think I found my home. (That's the only thing keeping me umming and awwing about moving, the LONG trek back down here a few times a week).
My food is all PRElogged for the next week and I'm ready to get back into the swing of things. It's amazing (thought it shouldn't be) how much better I felt physically when I was eating healthier.
Mom DID get hooked on Yoga while she was here. 5 mornings a week we did the Meghan Garcia Just My Size Yoga (it's gentle so Mom can handle all the positions, but I have to say... her in Downward Dog had me cracking up every single morning) followed by a upper back stretch that was 20 minutes long. We both suffer from upper back pain and it did a world of good for both of us. I've already burned her a copy of it and she packed it away for home.
Missed you all!!0 -
I can fit into a size 16 at the start of my weight loss I was over 300lbs and a size 26! This week I can wear my new jeans and be proud!
Sooo proud of you!! I started over 300 too and at a 26. I'm at 280, but down to a 22/24. Woo Hoo!! I cannot wait to post a 16. Good for you!!0 -
Hi everyone! I'm new to MFP...just started last Wednesday. I just had our third blessing, so need to work on losing baby weight and then some! LOL! I've always done WW and been successful with it, but finances are tough so someone recommended MFP. Love it so far! Have a great Tuesday!0

HI all, just back from a lovely, relaxing holiday down south (Tennessee and Virginia). Worked out and ate right while there. Enjoyed the American restaurants a lot ....ie. Bob Evans and Cracker Barrel and Captain D's...I did manage to lose weight. Wish we had those kind of restaurants here. Anyway, glad to be back and online again. I was 'hacked' just before I left and unable to use a computer for the last 2 weeks. Planning on keeping up the exercise and my goal is to keep losing even though I'm home.0

I just wanted to jump on real quick and will try to spend more time later.
@ Gorilla - No AM workout. Poo!! I definitely will have to squeeze something in later today. I really do prefer AM. Oh well.
@ Toots - Great to see you, but sorry you've been under the weather. We've missed you!
@ Robin - Seriously? A second time - WOW!! Like Karen said there are plenty of online dating sites so it's just finding one without all those security risk. I know I mentioned earlier, but CONGRATS on your loss. So proud of you!!!
@ gmleuck - Welcome! Congrats on baby #3! How fun!! I've only got one boy, 11, and he's plenty. May have had more, but long story and divorce involved, which is for a different day. You've found a great group. I joined last August and this is the only group I follow. Super supportive. No negative comments and if there is we flush them out! Also, Robin will be flipping us over soon to a new thread so keep an eye out for that as well. WW is a great program, but does get costly. This is what's great about MFP. We'll hold you accountable as long as your honest with us, but importantly yourself. Log every single bite, lick, etc. . . and share your goals. We'll help you along the way.
@ Mel - I'm so glad you had a nice holiday. I lived in the south (Atlanta, GA) for 18 years before moving to Vegas last year. We do have some nice chains. Bob Evans, Cracker Barrel - all good comfort food and fairly cheap. Captain D's - not my favorite, but it's OK. It's awesome you lost weight - good for you! Normally, very tough to do at those kinds of places. Sorry about the "hacked" issue. It's so frustrating that technology can be so good, but people make it evil. Glad to see you back!0 -
thanks everyone! glad to be back.0

Welcome back Toots and Mel.
Mel- I love Cracker Barrel as well, they are finally making their way to MD and now one is opening up near my job so I will enjoy that for dinner once in a while.
Goals- Get some rest tonight so I can be ready for tomorrow kick butt workout with my trainer. Time to start preparing for the next event. Not sure what it will be but will figure it out soon. I am exhausted tonight I think the busy weekend finally caught up to me so it is a TV night NCIS and time to chill out.
Sorry, I am not very chatty tonight jut tired.

Welcome back, Toots, Mel, and Mow. You have been missed. Welcome to the new kids. We have a lot of good stuff here so come back often.
I checked my record and I lost 4.2# for September. A year ago I was losing 3-4# a week. How times change. I feel really good about how things are going now, though. I feel like I really can do this for the rest of my life, as long as all of you hang in there with me so we can help each other along.
Have a great evening. Onward and downward. Kaye0 -

Hey everyone! It's so good to see some friends I've missed lately--toots, kris, mel and lin--nice to see you all again!
I'm kind of having a "lazy" day regarding MFP. I've caught up on all of the posts, but I haven't logged any food today and I'm going to skip the personals tonight. I wasn't especially busy, but spent the school day catching up on some random tasks like writing letters of recommendation for some students who've asked, cleaning out files, and helping my student teacher with some plans he's putting together for next week. It was nice to catch up on some of that stuff.
As far as not logging, a colleague and I brought treats for our birthdays (hers is tomorrow), and I did a lot of snacking throughout the day. I didn't eat too much junk, but it all seems like such a pain to log. If I was worried I had gone over, I would take the time to log it, but I got in a really great workout after school, so I'm not too worried about my calories for the day. Going to pick up fresh tomorrow. That's my Tuesday goal.
ETA: I'm such a nerd that I just couldn't leave my food diary empty. :blushing: I entered what I could remember--I'm sure it's pretty close.
Exercise goals:
Mon-walk gunner DONE + cardio (at gym HIIT) DONE
Tues--walk gunner DONE + gym (lifting and HIIT) DONE
Wed--walk gunner
Thurs--walk gunner + gym (lifting and HIIT)
Fri--walk gunner
Sat--walk gunner + gym (lift + HIIT)
Sun--walk gunner + gym (lift + run 5k)
