Squats and Big Booties; redux

Anywho! Butt progress! Excuse my bottoms; my butt's in a weird place where things that fit my waist don't fit my *kitten*. Not because it's bigger, but it's no longer a mushy mess that melds to whatever I'm wearing. I might be switching to short bottoms for my bikinis from now on.

You are gawjus! Damn!0

Squats are the bomb! I admire you for posting those pics, Achrya -- I could never do that, but ladies, get to the squat rack!!! You might be shy, but just get over it! Start at home with no weight, then dumbells. Don't be afraid of the bar!
The only thing you should be afraid of is bad form, but get help, or practice while watching an informative video. Here's one, but look for more good ones. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bDToQne3UcI
Keep your core pulled in, keep weight in your heels, eyes looking forward, slightly up. Don't be afraid to ask someone to help you to get the best form because if you don't have the best form, you won't get the results you want. Start with no weight at all! The bar that girl is lifting is 45 pounds, so make sure you're ready first!0 -

Wanted to say thank you and show my respect to all the ladies who were willing to show off their squat booties for this thread, and hopefully people will see there is nothing to fear from getting under the bar and dropping it low.0 -

In because I missed this the first time around. Progress pictures are being taken tomorrow. Perhaps I can figure out how to take pictures of my *kitten* in the mirror with a dSLR. It might take a while...0

Ok, managed a shot (sort of). Still have work to do, but definitely keeping up with the squats. Hitting a wall, so time to deload and work on form.

Damn, those are some amazing results in a really short amount of time!
I'm still amazed at what's gone on behind my back. Same weight in both sets of photos. June of 2011 was when I first hit my goal weight, doing cardio and light lifting (bodyweight and 5 pound dumbbell circuit training). November 2012 was about 2 months into Stronglifts. And I wasn't disappointed in my results when I first lost. I thought that's what a 39 year old bum looks like. It wasn't until I started lifting and taking new pictures that I realized my bum was getting younger!
A more current photo. Yeah, I gained a little weight, and I have a little more "projection" to my bum now, but my hips are narrower, my stomach flatter, so my overall measurements and clothing size are about the same. I like that my bum is no longer a part of my leg, that there's separation and definition between the two.
Holy goodness gracious.....this is amazing!!! I love that you are the same weight and WOW...what an incredible difference!! You booty looks awesome, nice and lifted...I would say I am jealous, but I am aspiring for that right now....awesome job!0 -

Edited to add: I should say that a bigger booty is my goal, so I'm not eating at a deficit0 -
Oh my gosh, you're both showing some fantastic *kitten* progress. Shaplier and perkier all around!0

Sir Mix-A-Lot approves
Glad you bumped this thread, OP. Good stuff.0 -

Helpful link, for those not squatting heavy. A nice series of progressively harder squats to keep you challenged and your muscles working.
Thanks! This is a great thread! Sorry I missed back when it started!0 -
