OK so i just signed up to start a couch to 5 k challenge that's starting on october 11 on MFP....i've never done anything like this before so along with my jillian michaels 30 day slimdown program i'll be doing this too

i was wondering how in the world i was going to do this after i signed up for it...was i needing to look at my cell phone the whole time i was doing this or what??? my cell phone has a stopwatch mode anyways so i looked on the internet for like a couch to 5k music thing...and sure enough i found it :-) below is the link to it

    http://www.djsteveboy.com/1day25k.html

after ur walking interval is up it makes like a chime sound...and very NOTICEABLE....and it does the same thing as when ur jogging interval is up...it does play music so its not like there's someone saying for u to start walking or jogging every so seconds....like i said that's what the chime sound does

Good morning everyone. Another quick post b/c I have to shower and head out the door. I am meeting some college roommates for lunch at Pappadeux Seafood restaurant today. It's such a shame that we reside in the same state/city but only manage to see one another about once a year. Everyone has such a busy lifestyle that making time to meet up always takes a back seet. Nonetheless I'm happy to spend a few hours with them today.

Today I completed the Kenpo X dvd from the P90X series. It looks like boot camp will have to weight b/c another issue arose that takes priority and as a result the money has to be designated there. No complaints because at least I have the money to take care of the issue and I have a multitude of dvds and a gym membership. I should be able to find a way to at least maintain my weight even if I can't take off the few pounds I may have regained. I'm hoping to take a boot camp session before the end of the year but we'll see.

Happy Sunday everyone! I was up most of the night with my sweet little nephew who just so happens to be teething and bless his heart, he was in pain most of the night and couldn't stay asleep. After a dose of Tylenol and some Orajel he finally went to sleep and slept till 8:30. I had forgotten how painful that was since my children are 18 & 15. At any rate, it's been a long, difficult week. I didn't get to exercise like I normally do and I had a cheat day but I have been CRAVING chocolate like crazy this week. That can only mean one thing....I don't know why this time is so much worse than it has been before? Ah well, I bought some 40 cal fudgecicle's and they seem to do the trick. This week I am going to try not to have any snacks after dinner unless I am way under my calorie goal. I am going to try to plan my meals this week rather than cook on the fly like I have been doing. I'm thankful for the small weight loss and thankful to be out of the 220's so I am not going to stress about it being so small. I might re-weigh myself tomorrow and drink more water today because that is another thing I haven't been doing this past week. Maybe tomorrow will be better!

Keep up the great work ladies!! Slowly, but surely, we will all reach our goal!! :flowerforyou:

Im excited about this weigh in. I was totally suprised by it. I actually got through a weekend and can finally say I stuck to the diet and didn't over eat. I did however treat my self to some chocolate custard last night.

Good job to those of you that have weighed in so far.

    Good luck to everyone today!

Any ideas for another mini challenge for this week?

    Jan 3: Goal- 160

Last week was a BAD week on many fronts. DH was sick, work was stressful, the kids were extra needy (because DH wasn't able to help out as usual), and I wasn't feeling too spiffy. I then had a Women's Retreat for our regional church over the weekend. The retreat helped de-stress me, and helped get me ready to face my family again. (On Friday I wasn't 100% sure that I could mentally handle seeing them again:frown: because of the week I had.) Being at retreat, I didn't have a LOT of control over what I ate (they did have a salad or fruit bar at every meal, so I tried to fill up there first), but quite frankly I really wasn't caring. We also had snacks in our cabins in the evenings. The snacks were provided by the women, but (because of the week I had) I wasn't able to take anything. And of course, everything in MY cabin was bad for me, and my favorites! (I did withstand the box of Carmel DeLite Girl Scout cookies until the 2nd night!) I stayed up late both nights playing cards with women I didn't know, but am pretty good friends with now. It was a great weekend in all. But I am up in weight today. Now that my head is in a better place, and I am more relaxed (and DH is better), I will focus on me again.

My SIL, a cousin and I are talking about doing a 5k run/walk at the end of this month. I'm not a big runner, and I haven't been training for it, but I think I'm gonna do it anyway. I know I can WALK that far, now I just need to focus and jogging that far! I don't have time to do the full C25K program, but I thought about starting out by seeing how far I can run, and then start from whichever week that would put me on, and start there. It's not a timed race, and kids are encouraged to participate. So we may be pushing a stroller and pulling a wagon while we do it. Should be interesting!
