I managed to hold a plank for 60 seconds x3 in under 5 minutes. I haven't done that in YEARS. I'm so excited about my body getting stronger!

Went to Hotel Chocolat (a very VERY tasty UK chocolate shop) to buy chocs for the wife, and DIDN'T eat one of the free chocs from the tray they shoved under my nose, even when they asked Twice.

    Very pleased with myself

Today I ran 3.1 miles (5K) with a pace under 12 min/mile. 11 min 19 secs. A personal best. Now my new goal is to get it under 11 min/mile

[yesterday] I resisted overindulging in beers, which is my kryptonite, and stayed within my calorie goal for the day!

Going for Thai Food tonight (God Willing  ) AND I'm taking the day off from my 10,000 daily steps ( I take a day off once or twice per week--I'll still do some outside walking, but not because I "have to" but because I WANT to and "get to"). Why is this something I'm pleased with? Because instead of fretting about my bi-weekly pig-out, I'm making myself cool-out and enjoy this day. :smooched: :drinker: :smooched:
  • I'm proud that instead of staying and indulging in the catered BBQ at work today, I drove the 10 minutes home and spent my lunch break on the elliptical! :)

Today, on Week 4 Day 1 of C25K, I realized I can run. Such a crazy revelation. I can run, and I will run. And soon I'll start running further and longer...and try to beat my best times...and run a 5k without walking some of it like I did on my 1st. Super proud!

  • It's getting harder and harder to get dressed for work every morning because most of my clothes are now too big. Today over lunch, I might go shopping.

Yesterday - I picked up a burger, fries, and soda for lunch for my wife and daughter. I ate a banana. some almonds, and a lot of water. AND I cooked an awesome healthy diner for my family so we all ate healthy.

Today - I brought my lunch to work (actually, I left it on the kitchen counter but my wife is bringing it to me). I used to get a something from the cafe and most of the time it was not so healthy. Now I bring my food from home which is much more nutritious.

Day two with no diet coke...big deal for me I have lived off the stuff for as long as I can remember!! Looked in the mirror and noticed some pretty good definition sneaking in from my first month of weight training.....decided the extra couple of pounds I seem to have put on from weight training is "ok" and stopped obsessing over it!!!
  • That I don't have any cravings. Those are my biggest downfall.

I just did 15 regular pushups:bigsmile: . Two months ago I was doing modified pushups. A year ago I wouldn't have even tried to do a pushup, modified or other.

I walked for over an hour with my dog and literally climbed a mountain - ten minutes of step incline and back down again. Day 1.

I stepped up my walking (instead of getting a ride to work and walking home, I walked to work and will be walking home too) and I've stuck to my increased-veggies goal for almost a week. I'm also pretty proud of having all my meals planned out through the weekend!

ETA: Oh, and I looked at a full-body shot of myself from two years ago, compared it with a photo from yesterday, and finally realized exactly how far I've come -- which is nice! I was feeling a little like I'd lost all this weight and didn't look any different.

I bumped up my treadmill walking 10 minutes today--instead of two sessions of 15 minutes treadmill, then stationary bike, then 15 minutes treadmill--I've done 20 minutes each treadmill time. :drinker:

I did 17.160 steps today. That may not sound like super star stuff, but it's a record for me and I'm so GLAD. NOW, if ONLY I'm consistent with this type of daily activity...slim & trim-dom will be mine by springtime (God willing). WOW...17,160 steps in one day---WOOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
  • Friday evening, I was upset about a crisis, and my folks were helping me resolve it.
They keep a bowl of Hershey's Special Dark miniatures by the kitchen door,
and I wanted to grab a double fistful, and devour them.
I looked up the candy on MFP: 5 pieces made up one serving.
The calorie total, fat, and carbohydrates were within my limits.
I counted out the pieces, ate them slowly, and was proud of myself.
I'd gotten a chocolate fix without blowing my diet!

I'm proud of all the things today!
    1) I decluttered my livingroom and washed all the floors.
    2) I went to the gym for the first time in years!
    3) I had a shake with protein powder to boost my protein(it's still not perfect though$
    4) The scale finally started to move down after two weeks of not.
    5) I spent most of the day with my teenage daughter:). Precious moments.
    6) I baked two dozen chocolate cookies and only aye a half cookie. (I had French fries at A&W for lunch).
    7) I've been using my arm like a normal person today (after shoulder surgery three months ago)
    :blushing:
