Some say its a compliment, but it just makes me feel OLD. Is it a genuine compliment or a back-handed way of saying a woman is over-the-hill?

Some 19 year olds could be described as this!

It's not a term I'd use but you should take it as a compliment IMO (Judging by your photos your certainly very attractive)

Take it as such I'd say :)

I find the term disrespectful, not because it implies age, but because it's.. rather crude and to the point.

I agree and will add and women in their 30's 40's and 50's are the sexiest to me.

    wow... just wow...
  • You're 42! You're approaching "Cougar"! Take the MILF's with a smile!

(That is, if it's the "old" thing that's the part that bugs you about it.)

If I were you I would take it as a compliment. It was undoubtedly meant as one, it's just that some people aren't that tactful and don't realize that you might find that label distasteful.

Wow I went profile creeping you certainly don't look your age way way younger!
  • Technically, it only refers to a woman who has a child or two -- so she *could* be a teen or early twenty-something. I wouldn't be offended so much by any age implication, probably mildly flattered that he would find me attractive enough for *that*, but find the term to be overused and derogatory in most cases.

You'll need something bigger than the size of Texas for the facepalm I've got right now.

Some of my friends call MILF anyone who's older than 20 basically.
If i were you i'd just focus on the positive part of the term: someone think you're pretty :)

I don't take it to mean old at all, but I also don't take someone wanting to **** as a compliment

You know you love it. It just means someone thinks you're highly bangable.

If you aren't a mother then sure you can take it as an insult saying you look like a mother they would like to finance. But if you have kids then take it as a compliment, as we get older any compliment is good to go.

Maybe they were trying to be nice? how old is the person?

Absolute classic !!! woman thought at its best !!!

doesnt really matter if its meant as a compliment or a back-handed way of saying a woman is old.

point is, you ve interpreted it as making you feel old !!!!!

well, while the term MILF can technically be applied to teen moms, the term itself is generally geared towards a bit older women like late 30s or more. However, it is still a compliment since they're not looking at your age but how desired you are by them. So the question is, do you find being desired by younger men offensive?

I personally am not a fan of the term but I'm a male who just turned 30 so what do I know.

There is a big difference between cougar and MILF. Please know the terms you through around at people before saying them.

Cougar: An older women. Typically late 40s and more, who chases young men who typically are still in early or mid twentiees. The older women chase THEM. The woman herself can be a repulsive, extremely obese human being but still has a chance to get the younger man because of her influence or her money. She is kind of like a female version of Sugar daddy except long term relationship is typically not part of it. A cougar doesn't need to be a mother.

MILF: A mother of any age that is desired by someone who is younger than her. Traditionally the term is applied to women who are in their late 30's or more and is chased BY younger men. The term started out when teenagers looked at the hot yoga and pilates doing moms of their peers or friends.
  • You should take it as a compliment. If you had been called a GILF then it's a different story.

The person who gave you the 'compliment' is an immature idiot, and now you know and can stay away from the person.

Unfortunately they people who would call you milf to your face is the same person who will tell random women on the street that they have nice titties and then expect the women to be flattered, and no amount of telling them that it is offensive will do anything other then make them offended.
