Mechanically separated chicken is still chicken. It's scrap that is being used. Ain't no problem with that!
Kinda like...I dunno...making soup stock from bones....0 -
I think beefavegan sounds like an awesome soup flavor!
I actually consider myself a drunkatarian. 'Cause... Booze.
That just makes it sound like soup made of beef and vegans. :sick:0 -
Not mine.. On the cheaper Octane.. its harder stop.. lots of knocking sounds, terrible ride, terrible gas milage
When I use the higher Octane, I get much better gas milage, no knocking sounds, all in all, a much better ride.
You got better mileage with a higher octane. Wow.0 -

I don't get better mileage, but my owner's manual recommends higher octane fuel to prevent knocking. My hubs says the lower octane can be harder on the seals, etc in some vehicles.0 -
All I'd be bothered by based on the OP's quote would be how does the blood work come back over a long period of time, when related to cholesterol levels, plus kidney, liver, thyroid etc function. No change? Rock on, eat what you want!
The body is a clever thing and a short while means nothing. I'd like to see a study done showing it over a year, maybe a few.
Now that would be interesting to me. I want to see how internally everything is ticking over and one is well.
I personally like eating what once was called 'clean food' because I don't get digestive issues, I do when I go down the junk route.
Also, I have a different body comp if I have a poor selection of foods. How do I know? Well I've done competing for years, I know how it effects how I look and my hunger levels. It doesn't work for ME (note I say me, no preaching here).
Doesn't mean my way is right, just what works solely for me and people who I coach.
However if it works for you, happy days - you are onto a winner (heck eating 'junk' and getting what you want, what could be better??!!).0 -
Nope. Not at all. It shows that fast food doesn't make you fat. Your habits make you fat. I think it's actually kind of cool.
I'm so tired of people proclaiming that fast food is the root of all evil.0 -
Dammit, now I'm hungry for vegans!0 -

I think the Burger King "king" was a lot scarier than Ronald McDonald lol.0 -
I hear vegans are the greenest of Soylent Greens.

So glad I have a better vehicle than that. I drive a Toyota Camry and get excellent mileage without paying extra at the pump. You might check out the Camry when looking for a new vehicle. When Toyota says they are fun to drive, they aren't lying. I love my Camry!

Paying more for fuel is just burning money except for a very few vehicle types.0 -
If your body was a car.
and Gas is your food.
Sure you could get away with using 80 octane for your car.. but why?
If you've got a race car where you've got it setup to make every bit of power possible where seconds count, you're going to need the best fuel and a lot of servicing. So akin to an athelete or someone jucin' etc.
If you've got a fast road car, then you don't need to pay as much attention, but often still do need better stuff - my 90s BMW M3 says you should use 98 octane (think we work it differently here), but you're ok or the normal stuff for getting around.
So, your average person who's making an effort doesn't need to be eating chicken breasts and kale all the time, but probably does need to make a bit of an effort.
Then if you've got a basic car you're not asking much of, it's just a waste of money to use expensive stuff - the cheap stuff will do the job just as well. So, the person who is just trying to lose weight and get a bit healthier, rather than push their body in strength or cardio and so on is probably just as well on a bit of a deficit whatever they are eating.
(Though, of course there is evidence that if you're not that healthy, it makes more of difference - perhaps akin to using some fuel system cleaner on an old car and making sure it's kept serviced, etc.)0 -

Darn. Both of my cars need the higher octane, and our third vehicle is a diesel truck. No cheap gas for us!0 -

That *is* a bummer.0 -

I know right? What we get for buying "luxury" vehicles. boo.0 -
Because the car still operates optimally with lower octane gasoline? Terrible analogy there.
Or it's a perfect analogy, depending on how you look at it.0 -

Yeah, luxury is not so luxurious now, is it? :laugh:0 -

I need some high octane protein. I hear it has 5 calories per gram.
Oh wait... terrible analogy.0 -

Depends very much on the car. Most cars don't run any better on higher octane. However, if the manufacturer says to put a higher grade in, it will make a significant difference in how the car performs.0 -
Price for gas-wise, no... but the heated leather seat and nice ride are still nice.0 -

Oh, we love our heated seats. Have them in all three vehicles. Living where we do, it's pretty lovely, especially this week when we started out at -21!0 -

It's overkill in Louisiana, as it will be back in the 70s in a couple of days, but today? Brrrrrrrr0 -
He had the oatmeal for breakfast, which is pretty good stuff nutritionally, and the salad for lunch.
This. This just probrd that you can enjoy yourself while dieting-just in a reasonable amount.0 -
if one chicken breast is sold to a grocery chain for the frozen case, and another one is sold to a mcdonald's to go in a salad or a grilled sandwich, does the one that went to McDonald's automatically become crap?
Yes,0 -
It's simple math. There was a professor from the Kansas State that lost weight on a candy diet. Basically, they just kept their calories below their required daily maintenance. - Don't do it!0
