Awesome.
The next time a fifty year old starts complaining about their age-related metabolic challenges, I'm pointing them your way.

Wow, you must be so proud of yourself and rightly so. I read your story with a smile at the references to the' post menopausal' metabolism being virtually shot. I too am in that 'time' of life and yes, my metabolism has slowed down considerably, plus to make matters even more difficult, I was diagnosed with Type II Diabetes in 2007 so this also makes losing weight that much harder to achieve, but achieve it I will because I want to have more energy, get involved with more activities in my community and at my church, and most importantly be more engaged with my 8 grandchildren, all of whom, I adore. I've lost (at a snail's pace, I might add) 18 pounds thus far and need to lose another 42 so wish me luck. Reading your story gave me a nice boost in the 'can do' department and I want so say thanks and keep up the great work! You go, girl!!0

Absolutely incredible work, young lady.
Fifty year old? I will be 69 years old on February 6th, and my metabolism was working just fine, even when I had to spend my days in a wheelchair. I feel like I have the potential to be healthier in my 70's than I have been for most of my life.
I can harder wait for my surgeon to clear me to go back to swimming laps. Daily trips to the local health center is something that I eagerly anticipate in the future. I feel like a mermaid in the water. It is the element in which I am free to move every part of my body. An hour of swimming laps is not work; it is a real joy for me. I miss the water.
I will also be checking out some of those mechanical apparatus which were off limits before my surgery. Who knows...I might even learn to love some of those activities too.0 -
Congratulations! Motivating story as well. No excuses!0
