Last night: chipotle-garlic braised pork, carrots, and onions over lentils; ubiquitous broccoli.

    12205675185_18a37f4e2b.jpg

This morning: bacon that didn't crisp over a veggie souffle that didn't rise -- as Patton Oswalt would say, "a failure pile in a sadness bowl." Tasted great, though.

As an aside, do any of you have tips for making my photos look a little more appetizing with my phone camera? I'm terrible at presentation, but the crappy picture quality doesn't help. My house doesn't get much natural light and the electric lights make everything weirdly colored while the flash washes everything out and makes it unpleasantly glisteny.

I say failure pile in a sadness bowl almost daily. That joke has years on it and but it still applies and is still funny as hell.

It's really-really good. It's called Camargue red rice. I like to fry it in a bit of oil (or butter) and garlic before cooking it in chicken stock. It cooks better if you treat it like carnaroli rice, adding a little boiling stock at a time, because it won't absorb too much liquid.

I'm eating the most delicious stir fry right now!!

    0bBlW9il.jpg

That whole skillet it filled with over 1220 grams of ingredients! And yet there's only 716 calories in the whole thing! I took 1/3rd of it (which filled my whole dinner plate!), and it's 233 calories, 42.5% from carb, 32.7% from protein, and 22.7% from fat. Plus 8g of fiber = 3.34/100cal (The recommendation is at least 1.26g/100cal)

are you sure you don't have a filter on? every once in a while I end up with this little button that looks like 3 circles intertwined.. it does things to pics.. BUT... you can go thru the pics and unclick it and they go to normal.

Thank you! :D It really was amazing! I love making stir frys, so easy to throw in what ever veggies you haveHere you go:

(+some spices, like curry, paprika, chili powder etc.)

MFP says there's no saturated fat in it, but I looked up the fatty ingredients, and calculated that really there is 2.1g in the whole thing, 0.7g per serving.
