You will miss the odd workout, you will eat things that you're not supposed too, you will have bad days, you will wonder whether it's all worth it but ultimately you have to keep going...Keep on keepin' on just like the story of the tortoise and the hare -> slow and steady wins the race.

Not one sentence, but still relevant...

“Watch your thoughts; they become words. Watch your words; they become actions. Watch your actions; they become habit. Watch your habits; they become character. Watch your character; it becomes your destiny.” -Lao Tzu-

Not all calories are created equal, so it's better to stick to whole/natural foods.

Don't stop working towards a healthy body even after you get to your goal.

Learned this the hard way, you won't stay looking good if you go back to old habits and quit exercising.

There are no "good" or "bad" foods. It's all fuel, just some of it is waaaaay tastier than others and moderation is the key

That's absolutely true!! This is your journey, not anybody else's. So why compare yourself to anybody else?

MIne comes from one of the first conversations I had with a nutritionist:
She asked: Do you want to lose weight?
    I responded: Well yeah....
A little voice in my head said: Then act like it.

With a little planning and picking the right recipes, it's possible to satisfy my foodie side* and still lose weight.

    * Although I still haven't figured out how to enjoy the chef's amazing seven-course tasting menu at my favorite restaurant and eat something other than lettuce for the rest of the week. Since this is a twice-a-year treat at most (not being a millionaire), perhaps I'll just shoot for maintenance that week and catch up later.
