Hi, my name is Jessica, I am 28 years old and today is my Fitiversary.
Last year on May 29th, 2013 I decided to change my life. I had spent the last 3 months giving up coffee, soda and juice and went from 385 to 352.2 and I felt better than I had in years.
Still miserable I decided to find a way to get healthy. No loose weight quick schemes, no pill, no magic wraps or shakes. I didnt want to pay for weight watchers either.(I am not knocking weight watchers at all, I just financially could not afford the program). I stumbled upon late at night the online community MyFitnessPal downloaded the app, spent hours reading their community boards and by the next day I decided to become a runner.
July 2013:
August 2013:
I started with C25K the 2nd week of June. Having been derailed a few times on my journey (kidney stones & other health issues) I was finally able to completed my first 1.34 mile run on August 19th and an hour later ran it again.
September 2013:
Throwback to our college days on left...
Late September:
Through my entire journey my amazing husband who also lost almost 100 lbs was their by my side.
By September I could run 3.1 miles at a time.
By October 6-8 miles.
On November 8th, 2013... I hit 100 lbs lost...
Our 6th Wedding Anniversary, November 17th, 2013... verses day after our wedding (left image)...
Starting on the Sunday before Thanksgiving I ran my first Color Run 5K.
Then our Thanksgiving Day, Turkey Trot 5K with my entire family.
The Blue Lake Fish Hatchery 4 Mile Race... boy was that a hilly course!!
Christmas 2013:
It is the small things in life that really matter during weightloss, like when you realize for the first time in your relationship your husband can wrap his arms around you and snuggle you close.
January 2014:
January 15th, 2013 my first Half-Marathon:
My first 10K race...
Feb 2013, growing more confident as a runner & at how much weight I had loss..
My Birthday... looking back at the 385 lb me...
March 2013 vs March 2014
The Foggy "Soggy" Bottom Milk Run, 10 miles in the pouring rain... I could have never done that last year... significance, full race under 12 minute miles
I am so blessed to work for such a great company, who has supported my journey, inspired me and encouraged me to do great things.
April 2014:
Nope... I didn't ever get rid of my yellow shirt... I have it to remember always where I came from...
The First Time I was willing to show others what I looked like under my clothes:
The moment when you go from being dead last to 2nd female overall in a 5k and PR at 32 minutes
On the right is my amazing mother. Who has supported me at every race. She will be 50 in July and is less than 1 lb from her 100 lb loss mark. I am so proud of her!
Summer 2007 verses April 2014
And on May 4th, 2014 with my husband by my side.. I finished my first marathon in 6:10 had it not been for a muscle pull at mile 18 we would have finished an hour and 10 minutes sooner.
MAY 9th, 2014 THE DAY I HIT ONDERLAND!!!
in a few days my first ultra trail race @Grasshopper Peak.
I have become a powerful runner... with many more miles and new PRs in me...
Currently I weigh 195.6 lbs. I went from a size 30W to a size 12 ladies. A 54H bra to a 36DD. I am setup for 2 more half marathons and another full before Christmas and am currently working on being sub 30 minutes in my 5K time.
My husband & I are growing stronger as individuals and as a couple.
I no longer take up 3/4 of our photos... we are 2 halves to a whole..
I am so proud of my amazing husband... he is a sexy sexy man!!!
My goal...Fitby30 is my plan. I am sexy, I am strong, I am fierce.
I have a year and a half left and I plan to get toned, finish my last 30 lbs, continue to grow my instagram encouragement board as I believe inspiring others towards great change is why we are here in life, and thinking of becoming a personal trainer for weight-loss management through running.
Oh and I wanna make District Manager at my full-time job too. Just a few dreams
