Melt: Scottish, Irish, Welsh, south-eastern American, south-western American, Spanish.
Wither in pain: Jersey, NY (NYC, Long Island, Satan Island, etc), Massachusetts, the side of New Hampshire that speaks like Massholes, Minnesota, Wisconsin.
Tolerate: Cape Cod, Maine, old Vermont, the side of New Hampshire that speaks like Connecticuters.
That may seem really intolerant, but keep in mind that I'm from Virginia and have a southern twang that could cause a phonetic world of hurt to any number of people.0 -
I'm English & live in Canada (been here 3 years). I often get complimented on my accent which is always very flattering. England has such a wide range of accents for such a little country!
I myself like Scottish accents but they too vary greatly across Scotland - I like the softer Scottish accents rather than some of the harsher ones. I'm also a sucker for a sexy sounding Italian or French accent! And of course I love the Canadian accent0 -
