Good afternoon and happy Saturday to all! I got my day started off in the right direction by getting up early and completing Fire 45, then jumping rope for 15 minutes and then stretching it out for another 15 minutes. I completed a total of 75 minutes and burned over 700 calories in the process.....WooHoo.....WooHoo...
Once the workout was complete, I hopped in the shower, got dressed and headed out the door to complete the errands. There's suppose to be a winter storm heading out way (GA) tomorrow evening and lasting until Monday evening so I wanted to ensure I had all the basics plus some rock salt just in case. Now that the workout is done, errands complete, bills paid, refrigerator stocked I can spend the rest of the day relaxin.............LIFE IS GOOD RIGHT NOW!!!!!0 -
So, my '5k' turned into a 1.5miles walk/run..:frown: . appearently only those who signed up for the competitive run get to do the whole 5k, everyone else does the 1.5...I didn't find out until after reaching the 1.5mile marker when they said 'all walkers you are done, please go inside, all runners, men to the right, women to the left' :grumble: Gee thanks for being clear about this on the flyer that I got.. and let's face, everyone looks forward to those race day tee's..a trophy tee if you will..You guessed it, again, only the 'runners' get one. :grumble: Everyone else gets a reusable shopping bag promoting the place and has nothing to do with the 5k on it, not that I won't use it, but still. A little annoyed but it will pass. Just wished they were better organized. Now, cappuccino, cheese potatoes, and a fire for the night.:ohwell: I'm really looking forward to the 5k in March, because I KNOW it's an actual 5k :drinker: Enjoy your weekend all!!0

Today I completed the commercial challenge from the "Vixens and Foxes" thread. The goal was to complete some form of exercise during an hour long program. I decided to use the Kansas Chiefs vs Baltimore Raves football game. I started at 1:09 and finished at 2:09. I decided to jump rope during the commercial breaks. I used a stop watch to track my time and when it was all said and done I had jumped rope for a total of 25 minutes and 15 seconds.
Brunettewife: Sorry to learn you weren't able to run your entire 5k. I'm sure you'll do well in March. I hate when events are unorganized b/c it feels like a waste of my time but glad you made the best of a not so great situation.0 -

No loss this week, but no gain either (and I even had a visit from TOM, so not too shabby!). I'm doing MUCH better enterring everything, and DH and I have started getting back into the swing of meal planning. Made Beanless White Chicken Chili and rice for dinner last night. ended up with enough for lunches for the rest of the week. (Good thing, too since the snow has moved in!)
Not doing too great on the exercise thing currently. I know that it is what will probably make the difference, but I find time one day, and then the next something happens (work, children, bath tub falling apart, etc) that eats up the time I set aside. I keep trying different times of day, different options, etc. but haven't found one that works just yet. I'm thinking that perhaps some "fun" workout videos, or "Just Dance" on workout mode would be the best option. That way I can get the kids into it and we can do it together. It's difficult to workout when the kids are whining in the background because I'm hogging the TV!0 -
Wow...way to go everyone!!! I am soooo looking forward to weighing in tomorrow, but refuse to take out the scale until then! Keep going strong!0
-
Well since I'm pretty sure I have food poisoning & have been sick the past few days (still home from work today)....I decided thanks to advice from others to not post my weight from what the scale said TODAY. It was awesome, but since I really haven't been eating much....I'm posting my weight from Saturday morning when I peeked. Hopefully I'll get to do the even better happy dance next week when I'm back to normal. I still was doing a happy dance Saturday morning....so here is what I'm recording as of now!

Ok, so I know this is my first week back into the swing of things, and I ate pretty poorly over the holidays, and I know this won't continue at this rate........but losing 11 lbs feels freakin' fantastic!!!!!!!!!!!!! Keep up the great work everyone! This week I plan to up my veggies ( I am not a vegetable fan) and continue with exercising, hopefully 7 x 45 minutes, but 6 x 45 minutes would be okay too!!!

I'm feeling a bit better today. I'm at work for a half day anyway....I'm going to weigh in again tomorrow to see what the scale says & take that as my official weigh in for this week. It was looking FABULOUS this morning! :bigsmile:0 -
Good afternoon all! Georgia is still in a state of Emergency and as a result I did not have to work today......Yippee....Yippee....Yippee. However, the Dept. of Transportation has yet to come to my neigbhor to put salt/sand down and as a result my entire subdivision is a sheet of ice. I have a long driveway that is completely ice.
Today, I completed the Fire 45 EZ dvd from the Turbo Fire program and Ab Ripper X from the P90X program. Once the workout was completed I decided to tackle the driveway. Since I have not had to salt/sand or shovel my driveway in the 10 years that I've resided in GA I decided to wear my HRM to see how many calories I burned taking on this task. I only made it 45 minutes shovelling before I called it a day and I'M NO WAY near being done but I burned 300 calories in the process. I usually don't count household tasks as my part of my workout but I did today because as i stated I NEVER shovel and i can feel it in every part of my body...0 -
Shoveling snow definitely counts as exercise!0
-
Happy Birthday to me, Happy Birthday to me, Happy Birthday to me.......Today I turned 38 and I feel GREAT! The State of GA is slowly improving and I believe will be back to normal by the weekend. There was a 2 hour work delay so was able to sleep in just a little bit longer. I got my birthday started in the right direction by completing my workout and then eating a nice hearty bowl of oatmeal w/a banana.
Today I completed the Push Circuit 2 and Recharge dvds from the Chalean Extreme program and then jumped rope for 5 minutes so I good get in a full hour workout.0 -
OK I had to put in an extra weigh in for myself this week! The food poisoning actually was very helpful to me. Sadly it had to come to that, but I did wait to actually do my official weigh in till today! And I'm now finally over 50 lbs lost & in ONEderland! FINALLY!

Would it be ok if I joined as well? I have really fallen off the band wagon and would like to try again, and am looking for a motivational group to help. When I started MFP I was 203, and had gotten down to 159, but am back up to 176 =\ I had been workin out every day for 1-2 hours and really watchin my calories and everything, was doing GREAT! And then I had to get a second job, and things went down hill from there. So now that I am back to one job, I'm hopin I can finally reach my goal weight!

My goals this week are to workout for atleast an hour a day, to drink 8 glasses of water a day, and to stay between 1200-1400 calories. I will be going to Hawaii in 2 weeks, so I'd like to lose as much as I possibly can by then, but I know it won't be much =P My boyfriend is in the military, and, after the Hawaii week, I won't see him again until his birthday, so I'm hopin I can look good for him!!
